  1. Started at the end of the season, but this season I want to really work an Umbrella rig in my home waters, that and some glide swimbaits. I'm realistic though, and always end up turning back to what has always worked for me.
  2. Welcome Steven. Quick question, is the meer the only fishing spot you fish in the park? I was always curious about the other water in the park, and other parks like Prospect Park over in Brooklyn? I guess you could always fish the river for Stripers too.
  3. Check out PAFBC, they've placed some structure in the lake, but if you look at Google Earth, there's 4 boats on the lake, 2 of them are down by the dam(time of year is a guess though).
  4. Yes, they usually provide all the paperwork necessary for titling/registering your craft. I should say, they did when I purchased an inflatable pontoon from them.
  5. Trout swimbait, right after stocking. Fish those transitions. It's not very deep, so maybe dead sticking will draw the big ones up. But like Darren asked, you in a watercraft or on the bank?
  6. Well, as far as jigs, you would be wrong. Any jig made in lead now has a "non-lead" counterpart. I do believe you're right though when it comes to the ban, all lead is banned, so lead encased in swimbaits, for example, would preclude that bait from being used. These types of baits would be harder to replace with "non-lead" counterparts. That a shop would go under because of a ban on a specific material is BS however, something very "faulty" in their business model, or there are other mitigating circumstances. Outside pressures like really short season in NH, internet, and big box stores(like a BPS, as mentioned) are more likely factors. As an example, did waterfowl hunting cease when they banned lead shot?
  7. Ha! Wouldn't be the first person to "rebadge" their motor at The Nock. When it was restricted to 10 hp, people ran "up carbed" motors, when it was 15 hp people replaced stickers or cowlings. We'll see you there David, we usually keep a pontoon on the lake. Last year it was being "refitted" so we didn't get out much.
  8. Goose, it's totally cool how you rigged your TM and anchor lock/release to your stabilizer. You have one of the best thought out/laid out canoes I've seen.
  9. Don't want to hijack this thread, but along these lines, has anyone tried Sebile's D&S weedless deep diver? Thx.
  10. Yeah, store bought and expensive. You can make them yourself, and they're cheap. I made some for my 17' canoe out of crab trap floats and PVC, cost $30! Try YouTube.
  11. OK, two votes for the Garmin Virb(which I haven't even heard of 'til I started this search, another I have to look into.). Any others out there...GoPro,Sony Action Cam(model?), Ion...? Opinions please, was looking for a good waterproof video camera w/lots of options, ease of use, battery life, value/price as it pertains to fishing, since this seems to be the new trend. Thx
  12. Plenty of options, essentially what I'm looking at too. The Humminbird Helix 5 KVD (edition) is what I think I'll settle on, after doing some research. But like I said there's plenty of options at that price point, especially if you are OK with used units.
  13. Hear that! Just got back from NC, Lake Willey & Norman, weather sucked and so did the fishing, but at least we were on OPEN WATER! It's depressing coming home to this crap weather and hard water.
  14. A float tube is by far the lightest/cheapest way to travel, but unless you're fishing just at the height of summer, you will need waders.
  15. Personal inflatable pontoons are cheap, light, and excellent fishing platforms. Will save you time in the long run.
  16. How much money are you willing to spend? Side scan is definitely better, but cost more. I have several small crafts, and have electronics to suit. I have a Down scan finder, and it suits my needs, especially for the Nock.
  17. My rule/tip also: Always pack out more than you pack in. One inconsiderate lazy fisherman makes us all look bad.
  18. I call BS, for lead regulations as a reason why any tackle business would close. There's a thing called tungsten, superior to lead, in almost all applications, and many fisherman are already naturally switching.
  19. Try finding a Meyers sportspal(S-12)(like the Radisson, but built tougher), not cheap unless you score one off of C.L. or some other local sites.http://www.meyersboat.com/sportspal/models/S-12
  20. Dogmatic replied to -David-'s topic in Introductions
Welcome! Good to have another "local" on the site.
  21. Just in time for fireworks, July 4th! (In reality, March 31st)
  22. I usually always overfill at the beginning of the season, not intentially, but because I'm not paying attention. Then I always end up stripping (and wasting) that extra line 'til I get to about an 1/8th of an inch below the lip, weather it's casting or spinning. ; )
  23. I trim, thin and fan.
  24. I only fish the East Branch of the Perkiomen too...5.5#!!! Time to take more than my 4wt!
  25. Thanks for this! Topos for every lake (that has one) that I fish!
