  1. Bubblegum (pink) and Bone (white).
  2. Congrats Andy Johnson of Austin Indiana!
  3. I had to Google Deep Creek Lake, looks interesting, and would definitely like checking it out, bass and stocker trout is a good combination in my book. Especially if it's not "quarantined" like GL.
  4. Wish someone suggested the wheel chair batteries to me a long time ago! Definitely the way to go when dealing with small crafts. Although the OP is only using a little 8ah for his electronics. Weight and size not much of a problem.
  5. Any Cabelas, BPS, Walmart ect. sells aerators systems that allow you to convert coolers into live wells. I use one on my little tin boat.
  6. Where you catching decent smallies on the Perk? Only time I fish the Perkiomen is w/my fly rod & with my girls picking off stocker trout. Have never caught or even seen a "decent" bass on the creek.
  7. Farmed raised tilapia is safe as long as you purchase it from a reputable source. Tilapia from China and Vietnam should be avoided. The same can be said of shrimp and catfish from those sources. Tilapia is an amazing fish, capable of living and thriving in various habitats, very easy to farm, on any scale, and perfect for aquaculture and aquaponic systems. Because of this ease, Tilapia has been said to be "the fish that will feed the world". Aquaculture can be dangerous, as seen with tilapia, catfish, crawfish, shrimp, as well as salmon, but well regulated and done right, it holds the most promise for feeding our ever growing population, especially considering the contamination and depletion of our wild stocks of fish. As for eating bass, and other wild caught fish...everything in moderation.
  8. Can't go wrong with Costas, but might want to check out Smith Optics, especially the Elites with Ignitor lenses, rock solid protection at a very reasonable price and wide selection of frames to fit all sizes.
  9. Good to see someone having success w/ the relatively common and affordable 175, despite the rumors. I've read that smaller "glides" don't have the action or "fishability" as the larger ones. Other than the S-wavers, I haven't had any experience w/glides, but I do have a newly purchased Killer Instinct 9" and 250 just waiting for ice out. After seeing these pictures, could have saved a butt load, and gotten 2, or 4 175's!
  10. Whew, 10 pages! Glad the argument is settled for me. PA, like NJ protects fish during the spawn, allowing fishing, but prohibiting direct targeting of bedding fish. I do have a problem w/their "big bass" lakes policy that only allows the harvest of fish over 15", believing that slots are a better way to properly manage "big bass" waters.
  11. Nice! I read that it's difficult to work the smaller 175 compared to 250, obviously not a problem for you.
  12. Funny vid...http://youtu.be/yMvasBRt6eM
  13. Good site. Good people. Can't go wrong.
  14. That's biting the swimbait bullet! +1 on arrival of Spring.

I love my lexa 300's for throwing small to mid sized swimbaits. I don't like power handles, but thats personal preference. Gear ratio is an important factor to consider, but the 400 should be more than adequate for most of your swimbait needs.
  16. I've seen some really clever YouTube vids on how to construct your own outriggers or stabilizers using crab pot floats. They were easy to construct, cheap, and they work. Tons of ideas on YouTube.
  17. Black, perch, shad.
  18. Three pairs (with a back up for each) Bright sun: Costas Permits w/ green mirrored 580 lenses. Part Sun/cloud (every day pair): Smith Shelters w/brown lenses. Cloudy/low light: Smith Chambers w/ignitor rose lenses. My back ups are the same except for Costas Cats, & Smith Shelters w/gray lenses. If I was going to pick just one pair it would be the Shelters. If you want just one pair, check out Smith's with the Chromapop photochromic rose lenses (can wear them 24hrs a day, and Rx compatible). Want the best interchangeable lense system, Natives (and it's made in U.S.).
  19. Hooks, weights, line and more line...and lots of senkos BAM! $200!
  20. Do most shopping on-line or at my local shops. When I do go to Cabelas or BPS, it's window shopping, touching and trying out before I go on-line to purchase. As far as Dick's goes, mine is not well stocked.
  21. I like this idea, of snap lock allowing you to change out weights quickly. What size, because I would wonder if length of lock would become a problem?
  22. Today, 0°, reached 17°, but the wind chill kept it near 0 all day. One of our regulars, an old timer, leaned into the kitchen on his way out, and with a wink, reminded me it's only 40 days 'til trout opener. Only 40 days!
  23. Yes, PA does it also. I believe twice a year.
  24. Anyone notice the small plane in the trees across the river from this address on Google earth? LOL.
  25. Lowrance elite 4 DSI.
