  1. Hey Quake, just curious what your favorite rod is? I agree, you can find great balanced and light rods in that $150 range.
  2. Mine only took a few hours.
  3. Wow, that is super nice. I would feel guilty though. I really appreciate guys like you on the forum. Restores my belief in mankind. Thank you for that!! I have like $120 in my cart and as I added more in, I decided to contact them first and they said they had sold out. I wish I had looked last night or earlier this morning. I probably better place my order before more sells out. I have already had a few sell out. Waiting out this winter is getting expensive.
  4. I just contacted TW and they are already out of the Rico’s. Darn it. Thanks for the heads up.
  5. Lol. I have the same problem A-jay. Pinhead. Hats are tough to find. I am bald as well, so a hat is needed equipment. Not good.
  6. I just used the code, amazing deal! Thanks everyone.
  7. Yeah, I did the same thing. I snapped up this deal when I saw it and skipped buying a couple other rods I was looking at. I am sure there will be more deals. A little disappointed, but stuff happens. Good luck in your search fellas!
  8. I don’t think I ever made it to shipped status. I just checked for the heck of it since it doesn’t matter when it gets here and saw it was cancelled. I have 6 months of ice. ?
  9. Unfortunately, they cancelled my order yesterday. Disappointed, but it happens.
  10. Thanks Bud! For that price, I had to try one. Appreciate the heads up.
  11. For bass, I am about 80% casting, 20% spinning. Use spinning for drop shot, shaky head, and Ned. I often still use a casting rod for weightless stickbaits. Helps with getting them away from cover and vegetation. I much prefer casting gear for the accuracy, power, and comfort.
  12. Perfect Bud, thanks! I will check out those handles as well!
  13. Thanks Tatulatard! I think I will grab one and try it out. I hope it has the power to wrench bass out of cover. Where is the best place buy handles and knobs? I want to get some for my Zillion SV as well. I hear people talking about that a lot.
  14. I actually already have the old Zillion SV and the new Zillion SV, along with a Tatula SV. I feel like the old Zillion has amazing cast control, the Tatula next, and the new Zillion last. Maybe I don’t have the new Zillion set up right? That is why I thought about the Alphas. Give another SV a try. They all allow me to skip without much thought or trouble. I would be plenty happy just getting another Tatula if the Alphas is not much upgrade or not up to wrenching bass out of docks or skipping those jigs. Thanks Fellas!
  15. Thanks. Great info. I am planning on using it for skipping 3/8 and 1/2 oz jigs. I will probably get the standard model. I love my Tatula SV and have heard that the Alpha controls as well as the Tat, but feels more refined. I hope that is true.
  16. Thanks, that makes sense. Hard to figure out the JDM stuff sometimes. Some of you guys are unreal at knowing this stuff. I appreciate it!
  17. Does anyone know the difference between these two? I am going to order one, just want to make sure I know what I am getting. Thanks, Fishin Dad
  18. The 2 words I live by for outdoor gear are merino wool and Gore-Tex. I have multiples of each. Base layers, mid layers, outer wear, and footwear. Merino wool being naturally microbial, insulates in all conditions, and actually helps you regulate your heat in both hot and cold conditions. I have purchased many different brands. Smart wool, Cabelas, Woolx, Icebreaker, and more. Buy from a reputable seller and enjoy.
  19. I will use a single hook (chatterbait, spinnerbait, etc.) whenever I can. Trebles can be a pain in the backside (or in your fingers, net, etc.). That being said, on the lakes around me, crank baits don’t get used as often and can really show the fish something different and can be the deal some days. Bladed jigs have been amazing for me since they came out. Always have a couple tied on wherever I go.
  20. I agree with this 100%! This reel is not good for skipping. I have a couple Tatula SV’s and a last gen. Zillion SV and they are both much better for skipping. I was really hoping to be blown away, but I wasn’t. I might be the only one on the planet. It is a nice reel, but not other worldly. I am a huge Daiwa fan and have over 12 of them. I will also buy more. Just my honest, none expert opinion. I am going to try it for another technique and I am sure it will be fine.
  21. I have the 7’4” MH. I haven’t used it a lot. I have a chatterbait tied on it and I am not sure how strong the rod is for a chatterbait. It says it is rated up to 1 1/2 oz. When I am casting, it sounds like it is cracking and popping a little. There is no way I am close to over an ounce of weight. I do think it would be great for cranks under 3/4 oz. I still have to get some more time with different lures on it. I love the feel of it. I will give some more time next time out and see what I can figure out. Too many rods, too little time to use them all.
  22. Those cuts do hurt and take forever to heal up. I end up doing it tying braid to fluoro while cinching the knot. Just dumb
  23. I have ordered from Seiberts, OM, and recently ALF. The former sponsor I think was NAKO tungsten. All very good deals on bulk tungsten.
