  1. I agree. I always figure it can’t hurt to offer them extra color to key in on. Specific Color doesn’t always matter, but I have seen it make a difference and you never know what color they might want each day given the conditions. Of course you could always pull out your old Color-C-elector and know exactly what they want. ??
  2. I fully agree. I do think sponsor $$$ play a big roll. It does seem like the Japanese anglers are bringing unique baits/techniques and actually using them. However, a lot of that is probably sponsor $$ from their area of the world. They do seem to fish differently and SLOOOOOOOW. You can’t discount their success though it seems. Glide baits played on Norman last weekend. That hasn’t happened often. I think with the added pressure that we are seeing, new baits are going to play more.
  3. You got it buddy!! I have tried replacing mine as well and they are still in the rotation. I also bought one of the red rods that was a step down from the ZX. I think they were like $79. I got it for $39 on close out. That rod is sick for the price. It is my frog rod and has taken a beatin and keeps on going.
  4. I am against it. Eventually, all people are going to do is strap on screens to their face and sit around. I don’t even like watching tournaments where everyone is staring at screens. I am only 53 years old, but technology is out of control. Do I have technology in my boat, yes. Am I a hypocrite, maybe. I just think we have to draw the line somewhere, and why not start now. And, NO, I don’t watch Randy videos. Just my two cents.
  5. I like a bigger profile in stained water. It pushes more water and shows a bigger profile. The chatterbait gives off enough vibration itself. I don’t like a trailer that has a lot of its own action and fights against the chatter.
  6. Wow, now I have to try it. How is the abrasion resistance?
  7. Really!? Wow, that is a solid testimony. Now you have me thinking I better try some. I am mostly fluoro as well. So you would use it for everything? Jigs, T-rigs, moving baits, top water? I am trying to figure out what technique I want to try it for. It would have to be better than fluoro for me to spend $22 for 165 yds. I may dive in and give it a try. I have room in my TW cart. I will check this out too. I like trying different lines. Thanks
  8. Thanks! Can I ask what lb. Test you used for spinner baits? I was thinking 15 lb. I am just not sure how it handles.
  9. There are a lot of swimbaits with treble hooks on them already. This does not look like a Magdraft. It has no fins, Berkeley’s honeycomb tail, a different shape,a different system holding the treble (which is flawed on the Magdraft). I have no affiliation with Berkley and no reason to defend them, but they seem to get nailed a lot for this and many others do this too. Everyone has a stick bait. Everyone makes a ribbon tail worm, etc, etc, etc.
  10. To me this does not look like a Magdraft at all. It has the Berkley “honeycomb” tail and a unique design to hold the treble hook. There are very few revolutionary baits that don’t resemble anything else. Innovation seems to come with little improvements to make an existing bait better. This one seems to meet that criteria.

  12. The stuff I worry about are the things I can’t control. It freaks me out when I hear about a steering mechanism breaking. My boat doesn’t even reach 60 mph, but losing steering would be really bad. I am lucky to fish on lakes alone often enough, so collisions are not a big possibility. The lakes I do fish around here don’t have really tight areas to consolidate crazy boat drivers either. Take off for tourneys is scary enough. I don’t like driving a boat in traffic at all.
  13. Since you’re in Wisconsin, Fleet Farm has great deals when they put line on sale, although, not as good as in the past when the Mills family still owned it.
  14. I agree Papa! I think it could be a double edged sword though. On one shoulder, my wife saying get rid of some of the stuff, and on the other, you know who ? ???, telling me to grab all the great deals. I might be pulled right in half!!
  15. I think I will skip it too. I have used Advanced in the past, but I might need to try it again for some moving baits. I don’t remember having any complaints about it. I think I remember it casting like a dream. Mills Fleet Farm has good sales on it, so I will wait until it gets cheap. We still have so much darn snow I have some time. ?
  16. I am pretty much a straight fluoro with most of my pitching, but in the MILF, I like straight braid. I am not against leaders at all as all of my spinning rigs use an FG knot. I just like straight braid in the thick stuff. Unfortunately, the pike like the thick stuff too.
  17. Geeeez, Sunline must really like that line too. $21 for 165 yds. Yikes. It must be amazing.
  18. I use 50lb. Straight braid. Trying Viscous “No Fade” braid this year. I do agree that pike can and do saw off braid at times, but I have been pretty lucky landing them while frog fishing. If I am fishing a Texas rig with braid (in weeds), I seem to lose A Lot more rigs to pike on braid. I think it is because they get it better with that set up.
  19. For weightless wacky it is an old 7’ Cabela’s ZX bass Medium Fast with 15lb. Braid to a 12 lb. Fluoro leader. For wacky jigging, it is a Cabela’s ZX 7’1” MH Fast casting with Daiwa Tatula SV and 15 fluoro. I had purchased those Cabela’s rods a long time ago and I just feel so comfortable with them throwing stick worms, I haven’t changed them out yet. I will be sad the day they break. They are dedicated to wacky stick worms. I do Texas rig stick worms in extreme cover, but really feel that wacky gets more bites. Skip, pitch, flip, bomb cast, dead stick, etc. Stick worms can do it all. good luck in your search.
  20. I have seen the kits to do it, but at this point it has become such a habit that I will probably wait and see. I am about as mechanical as a monkey.
  21. Wacky rigged senko.
  22. Thank You!! This is exactly why I asked the Senko Master!! It makes a lot of sense. I appreciate your thorough answer. Very well written. Thanks
  23. I know. My last boat had it and my new one doesn’t. It doesn’t bother me too much, but I do miss it.
  24. It is SO routine, it is almost funny to think it is not like this everywhere.
  25. Thank you. That makes sense! Toxic, I am absolutely not questioning at all, but have you tried any BFS? I am just curious with all of your experience if it would even come close. I haven’t tried it yet, but would love your opinion if you ever have or if you ever do try it. They are such different mechanics I don’t know if it would be possible.
