I'd have to say rip rap banks and toolys. The ca delta is just miles and miles of it.

I was reading last night that this guy was ice skating on Donner lake. Well he fall though and they recoverd his body at 185 feet of a 220 deep lake. I don't think I would risk it.

Just a thought, But what is the rule for ice thickness? 3 inchs sounds thin to me to. But I'v never even walked on a ice ring. dose it depend on the temp the regone or what sorry for the high jack :-[

I hook up 3-5 fish a trip. But i don't count dinks. It has to be 12" i will use the dinks as a indicator of what the fish are doing but thay just don't count

Thats a great idea! I wonder though.... What would you have to go through each time you wanted to dive in a local lake or pond? Could you just go and do it, or would you have to get permits, and all that crap? As long as its legal to swim in scuba would be ok. But i would check with the locals first and always bring a partner

Not this one we are having temps in the low 20s highs in the low 50s and water temps around 40-45* nothings biting not even blue gills for the first time Ive seen theres ice on the ca delta most of the back sloughs i fish have a 1/8" of ice on them I'm sure it melts off in the afternoon. but dang ice in the delta who d thunk?

Yep thats right Right after I shaved with (put name brand here) I hooked into a 25lb bass couldent off done it with out (insert name here) But Ronnie's right if you do hook into that bass keep it all under wraps until you get it waid and certified or it will be all over the net and all them people will have it

Just to see I not every one has a fish calling thing or a boat for that matter. I would kill to spend the day with KVD on my pond just to see how he would fish it. no boat no gismos..

I think it all comes down to what you exspect out of the gear. I fish about 40 days a year and all my bass rods and reels put together run about $400. Now if i fished 200 days a year I could justify $400 rod and reel combos and if I made a living by fishing a $1000 dollor R&R would be resanable. but it comes down to what you can aford if you want a $1000 R&R and don't have to brake (or rob) the bank to do it its all cool.... As far as is that $1000 dollor reel better that the $100 dollor reel i'm sure the $1000 has more abavantages. But better is all a matter of persbective. Just my .02 Bass Smacker

2006 was not so good yaer fishing for me. I started a new job that has a lot of OT made it hard to fish and when i did get out it was for a half day or a few hours. 2007 will be a lot better

I fish some small ponds the get hit by every one and there three brothers. They keep every thing they catch (down to poly wogs) and whial the pond is hard to fish the big ones are still there just harder to catch. 8-)
