Shimano Stradic VS Daiwa Tierra and why
shimano has a well documented binding when wet issue.i have had it happen as have many others on www.nybass.com .shimano refuses to aknowledge these issues and many nybass members have switched to diawa because of this.i switched to pflueger spinning reels because of it. http://www.nybass.com/showthread.php?t=21126&highlight=shimano+binding

flourocarbon
my buddy told me to put the spool in hot water and spool it on.this seems to get rid of the springing off the spool issue and helps cut down on backlashes.
-
My Initial Fluorocarbon Experience
i have found that if i just use a hair more brake than i normally would it prevents those minor backlashes so i don't have to pick it out.my guess is this is something flouro users have to put up with.i am trying flouro again this season and would also like to know if there is any brand that does not have this issue.i was told by a friend of mine to put the spool in hot water and then spool it on.he says this also helps decrease backlash.

what is the deal with the steez?
o.k.,maybe stupid was a bad choice of words.i apoligize if anybody was offended.

what is the deal with the steez?
With all due respect dodgeguy but that is one of the dummest statements I've ever seen you post. It's like saying a Lexus costs what it does because we are stupid enough to pay for it. Somethings are more than merely functional. They are refined, elegant, and take the state of the art to a new level. This costs money. Lots of money. The R&D and innovation is timely and costly. Copying what another has invented is easier and cheaper. But the imitators, are just that.........wannabe's. And they always fall short. If pflueger could make the same the same reel at 1/4 the price, then they would. Can't afford it?..........Most can't. Refuse to pay that much for a fishing reel? Understandable. Calling those who can and do stupid?..............................Is stupid. avid,i'm not saying i wouldn't buy one if i could.but when i look at myself in the mirror i would have to admit to myself it was fairly ridiculous as far as what it costs.i would enjoy using it in the hope it would make up for the 4 $ i spent.as far as quality goes i know a very good machinest who will tell you that diawa's metals are not as good as you would think in a lot of areas.i could not tell you where but he could.he's the expert in that feild and i'm not.so contrary to popular belief more $ is not always more quality.anyway please forgive me if i say things you think are stupid at times. Product advancement occurs because there are those who appreciate innovative excellence. If everyone thought like you, we'd all still be fishing zebco 33's

what is the deal with the steez?
If it's a magnesium toothpick with 10 ball bearings, I'm in. ROFLMAO!!! ;D
-
what is the deal with the steez?
they make the supreme spinning magnesium frame for $99.why not take a 7.8 oz summit and give it a mag frame.get it down around 6 oz for $179.

water depth
i fish 15 feet or deeper a lot of the time.

spiderwire
imho sufix performance braid is the best braid made.
-
what is the deal with the steez?
it's a great reel but honestly it costs that much because we are stupid enough to pay for it.pflueger could make the same reel at 1/4 the price.

Wacky wormin'
the o rings are the way to go when wacky rigging a senko.you will save a lot of senkos because they slide up the line.just remember like any other presentation wacky rigging does not work all the time.
-
Is it me, or is it the fish?
what do you mean fishing with a cork?try a lipless crankbait,a senko, or a t-rigged worm.

FINALLY I GOT MY DREAM REEL
congratulations.did you get the narrow spool or the wide spool?
-
Store reels and rods who makes em?
that would be the cabela's xml rod that i heard has a loomis blank.fyi it's supposed to be a very nice rod.
-
Store reels and rods who makes em?
Not quite guys. Browning® has licensed BPS® as their only outlet for Browning® fishing. BPS didn't purchase the name. Same way when Quantum® was building their reels they were licensed to do so. No outright purchase of the Browning® name has ever happened. so then browning hasn't made a reel themselves in how long?doesn't matter, there stuff looks preety nice to me.i would be willing to try it.those boron/graphite rods look nice.

braid on a spinning reel
red turns black.cajun red cast turns grey.sometimes i think red will cause a fish to strike.green looks like weeds so if you fish in weeds no problem.my theory is since even blind bass can detect line in tests but have a harder time detecting thinner line just use the thinnest you can when finesse fishing.line detection means nothing unless you are finesse fishing anyway.i never tie a leader to braid.i just use a thinner braid if i feel the need.

Shimano Vs Daiwa Baitcasters
