MLF BPT Stage 3 Lake Murray April 2023
Ott Defoe's 6 pounder this morning was incredible. One of the coolest fish catches I have seen. This tournament has had some fantastic fish catching and drone footage.

any member here, NOT posting up fish catch pics?
I like to take pics of fish I consider nice fish, most people would not consider them picture worthy. I do it because I like to look back and see what time of the day and year I caught them. It is also nice to look back when you are in your 6th month of winter and it is still below zero at night and you have had almost zero melting. I really like pics with the family. Since my kids are adults now, I really enjoy any chance I get to fish with them. I like to mark those occasions.

MLF BPT Stage 2 - Douglas and Cherokee 2023
I really enjoyed this tournament. It was cool the way Poche won. I don't care how many fish I would catch, you wouldn't catch me fishing where he was. I don't like fishing in current and I couldn't control my boat in that. That is the opposite of relaxing fishing.

“Gimmick” lures in tournaments
I have seen TV personalities crush fish on their shows with a new bait. Then 3 years later it is in a bargain bin. I have been persuaded to buy a few things after watching a show. I think I would have better luck fishing the lake they are on, then using the same lure!! ?

I like watching guys struggle a bit. I like to see their decision making process. Glad Thrift won.

MLF Team Series
I really enjoy the made for TV events. I realize they are not live and that is fine with me. I think one of the things these events do is let people get a glimpse of the anglers personality. This is one thing MLF did right. The MLF cup events made me an Andy Montgomery fan. That is why I like when ZONA has guys on his show. I like knowing the guys. I have zero interest in watching a bunch of anglers I don't know anything about. To me that is like watching a local tournament. Personalities make sports.

Hack to the Elites in 2021
I don't want this to sound like a negative comment, but both Hackney and Christie were getting their ***** handed to them on the BPT. I feel certain guys can excel no matter the format and others may be geared to excel at one of the formats. I am a huge fan of both Hackney and Christie, so I am anxious to see them both do well. It was disappointing never seeing them near the top the last 2 years. My personal opinion is the start of BPT was a good thing for fisherman. More opportunities for anglers. There are many guys on the Elites right now I would have never heard of and who would have never have gotten a chance without so many guys leaving BASS. I wish all guys fishing on all tours good luck and tight lines.

BASS elite at chickamauga
I believe I have read on this site, that anyone can throw a wacky worm and catch fish. Someone should tell these pros. (sarcasm). I enjoy watching them make decisions when it is tough.

FLW is gone. Merged with MLF.
I hope some anglers return to BASS. it would be nice to have a mixture of big names in both leagues. I know all guys fishing Elites are great anglers, but I have little to no interest when I don't recognize at a least a few names toward the top of the leaderboard. I realize it takes time to develop some name recognition but instead of a top ten that is a whose who, sometimes in BASS is just who? It seems in BPT you need to make quick decisions and find fish fast. There is no grinding it out hoping to get a few big bites. It seems some anglers excel no matter what the format is (Wheeler, Defoe, Lee) while other big names have really struggled (Christie). I think most guys will go where they feel they can be successful. I hope both leagues continue to be successful. I have zero interest in competing in tournament fishing, but for those that do, the more options the better.

FLW Pro Circuit event on Lake Erie
I would disagree. I thought the BPT events were great this year. The 2 pound minimum was great. Two things stand out. Ott Defoe's monster 3rd period in his win, and the Heavy Hitters event. I enjoyed the heavy hitters event more than any tournament I can remember. The huge payouts for big fish added a lot of excitement. I will say both FLW/BPT and BASS having to cancel events and move them around has made it a little harder to follow.

FLW Pro Circuit event on Lake Erie
Happy for Lucas. Wheeler is unbelievable. A first and two seconds in SUPER Tournaments with that many boats is insane. Plus a BPT win this year. WOW.

What is Tom Monsoor saying here? - Swimjig content
With his arms he only has to flex and the hook is set!!

Muskie attacks woman
I don't worry about getting bit, but crankbaits and pike are always an adventure. Not only are they hard on tackle, but the are like holding a bomb waiting for it to go off. If you use a net, you can spend 10 minutes untangling that mess. On a muskie note, I use to spend hours and hours fishing for them with very limited success. I catch just as many now that I only bass fish. Go figure.

Tom Monsoor...
I watched some today. He was great to listen to. Great attitude.

Wheeler
Was glad to see Monsoor win. He was great to listen to. Seems like a great guy.

Wheeler
He is at it again. Leading FLW Super Tourney at Lacrosse. Incredible.

BPT Season Over?
With baseball, basketball and hockey all starting soon this is not a great time for tournaments if you want viewers. I think BPT anglers still have cups upcoming if they qualified for them. My local radio station in Minnesota has a fishing show on 3 times a week. Listening to it it seems that almost all tournaments are now catch, weigh, release. I think COVID has changed the way things are done and I think all tours will change somewhat in the future. I have not watched a BASS event yet this year but am looking forward to the ones coming up.

MLF-Sturgeon Bay
Amazing weights. I really enjoy when they go to different bodies of water. It is one of the things I really enjoy about the MLF Cups. I loved when BASS went to Lake Oahe a couple years ago. I don't think any of the pros had fished it before.

MLF-Sturgeon Bay
? Ike landing that fish. That is what I look like landing most smallmouth except I use a net. Still takes me 4 or 5 tries. Anyone who has never fished smallmouth needs to do it at least once. The fight at the boat and some of the jumps are incredible. I don't fish trophy water so can't even imagine what a 6 pounder would be like. Although, I have watched A-Jay catch a few. ?
