  1. Can you tell us the specific rod line and bait/ hook combo.
  2. I disagree 100%. Respectively. Not very often. but a few times a year on a fb jig offshore. I’ll feel a bite and catch a bass hooked outside through the cheek. It happened again this spring and off a bed ! for the first time. Felt the bite Line moved Swung and Landed her. Hooked in the cheek. #8.14 big. Didn’t feel bad even a little bit. What happens is she bit the front half of the jig. Head in the mouth hook and skirt outside was angled just right And got lucky. Not legal for a tournament but it counts for a catch in my book. Dottie is my world record and Emma Weyant won that race. I don’t care what the record books say.
  3. Most effective for me are flippin jigs and T rig lizard or creature baits. Most fun is a big ol 1.5 oz spinner bait on them offshore brush piles. I too love fishing brush piles.
  4. Yeah I’ll do less long runs and less tournaments. Lgb
  5. What about the trophy bass potential. What is the Everglades record bass if you could put a record for that body of water like it was a lake
  6. Are there any bass tournaments out there? What kind of weights are the local sticks putting together ? Do the ever glades have trophy potential like ten plus pounders or teeners
  7. True. But they don’t eat a frog out there quite as good!
  8. That Story is still unwritten. But you can bet I will be there ALOT. May put my home in quitman up for rent and just camp there for the first few years!
  9. 20 yards is plenty far to pitch. Work on accuracy and angles. Get out on the lake and put 2 rods on the deck. A pegged 3/8 oz Texas rig. And a half oz jig. Pick a bank with lots of docks and get after it.
  10. If you mostly bank fish you’re wasting your money on deep crank set up
  11. Listen to him! Come on down in the middle of August .sweat your balls off. it will be great if you don’t mind 110 degree 70% humidity and fishing offshore using electronics to locate fish... a few things the op seemed worried about.
  12. How do you like the max cuatro. I keep going back to original power pro. Have tried many other braids. What bothers me the most is the silky swelling/ fluffy effect some braids get extremely limp. 8 footer 3-6 ounce is a lotta stick for walking a frog all day.
  13. If it covers the entire surface of a small pond for extended amount of time it’s done. Aquatic grass needs sun. Bass eggs need sun.
  14. Huge congratulations to the angler. The State is kicking out a lot of giant fish. And an incredible amount of teeners. Hopefully I finally get mine.
  15. This duck weed isn’t your typical Aquatic vegetation. It covers the entire surface. Blocking all sunlight to the pond and kills all the grass and all the fish. It’s a death wish for small ponds.
  16. My neighbors pond was completely choked out from duckweed. Is there any chance this recent freeze will completely wipe it out? This pond has been an ice skating rink the past 5 days during this record cold. I hope it wipes out the duck weed.

  18. If my rod doesnt have an open ended hook keeper I put the weight jammed between the drag star and the reel frame . Let the hook lay where it lays. I used to keep a plastic worm burying the point but most plastics have impregnated salt. And salt oxidizes hooks. Not good.
  19. During a tournament on lake fork.
