7’3” M/H EF Good for Carolina rig?
Probably make a fine rod for c rigs. Little light for frogs and pitching for my liking but would work just fine. Looks like you got the perfect rod

You can make a difference
My best friend is fighting cancer. The statistics for people in stages similar to his arent in his favor. But he is a fighter and has found other Drs for more aggressive treatment. Hes spent the majority of this year in the hospital and is unable to work. Its my goal to share his story. Im hoping the community will be gracious and donate to him for a good cause. Thank you all for readin. Please take the time to read the update posted by Yvonne in the link below. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Big Fall Swimbait recommendations
Do you have any specialized swimbait specific rods? This is important information and would drastically change my answer. I have some "big" swimbaits that weigh up to 10oz and a foot long. probably snap an extra heavy flippin stick if you tried casting.

What does it feel like to catch double digit bass?
You caught that fish in hobbs? Ive got five double digits all of them came out of Monticello , and lake fork. 2 of them came within 45 minutes of each other on the same morning in 42 degree water. Every time it just gets better. Its better than , the best part, of your favorite bedroom activity.

Ultra deep cranking rod for big jigs. Does it work? Kind of
The experiment: using my biggest cranking rod to see how I like them for big jigs. The gear: dobyns 806 cb, shimano met mgl xg, 20 tatsu, 3/4 oz football jig. Pros: long rod, takes up alot of line on hookset, parabolic bend all the way to the handle, keeps them pinned. Just enough back bone for solid hooksets. Casting distance! Cons: sensitivity isn't great. Although good. Tip a little soft for my liking, back bone way mushy then I'm used to in a jig rod. (Hence crankbait rod doing what it's designed to do. Conclusion: it was a fun experience didnt lose any fish and it would work in a pinch. I've been on a good jig bite all year. And wanted to have a little fun today. Ended up landing a nice 7 pounder. But I think I'll stick to the real jig rods. Would love to post pics but files are to large. Anyone else ever try this?

Frog preferences?
Spro or live target are cheaper in the long run.booya poppi pad crasher is garbage never had one make it through a full day on the water during a good bite.. They always tear at the cup of the mouth. I bought 5 this spring and they were all torn and done over one weekend. all brands have a life span but some are longer than others.

Old Bass Pro line of rods, underrated?
I use to love their first gen. carbon lite rod . I ended up breaking 3. Got them replaced. And broke those too albeit i dont exactly baby my equipment. ..But I loved them while they lasted.

unfair advantage?
Lures are only effective in the hands of a competent angler. Maybe 100 years ago this maybe a valid question. Today unrealistic. I believe lures aren't as important as being around fish and presenting proven techniques to those fish.

Looking for a med. Lt. Casting rod.
In that price range. I've fished 13 7foot medium light, and a tfo medium light. I've had 2 tfos and dont like them at all. You may see if dobyns has a fury in a 702c. The extreme hp 702 I use now is MONEY.

Top water bite = ???
I'll also add. The best part of bass fishing for me is sticking'em with a bone jarring hookset. Also conducive to frogs.

Top water bite = ???
I love it when conditions call for a top water bite (especially frog) if I think I have a chance I'm throwing a frog.. same with a jig or a glide. I associate those baits with quality fish. Especially jigs. Drop shot not so much. I'd put jigs swimbaits and frogs on my favorite bait list.. 2of those fish may equal 3 or 4 dropshot of fish. In preference and weight

Conflicted between t-rig vs. jig
The winners were probably just around the right fish and either presentation would have won. I like fishing a jig when I can get away with it. The thicker the grass/cover for convenience I'll switch to a t rig.

White bass and Kentucky's just showed up in my favorite lake... Is the lake in trouble
Too many baitfish!?? how is that a problem

White bass and Kentucky's just showed up in my favorite lake... Is the lake in trouble
I'm afraid they'll take hold and greatly decrease the bait population. I fear over time the number of quality fish the lake is known for will decline. I couldn't care less about catching them. When whites were introduced to fork in many peoples opinion the schooling black bass were never the same.

White bass and Kentucky's just showed up in my favorite lake... Is the lake in trouble
. Small 2 thousand acre lake. Known for quality bass. Gates were open for sometime to equalize with neighboring body of water. Now white bass and spotted bass are in the lake Which were never in there before. Can this hurt the lake?
