Smaller ponds this has happened to me before. I've seen a 4 foot water snake get crushed swimming against a sea wall.right at shore. By a trophy size bass.

Curado 200K
I too viewed parts of his videos. And enjoy them for the most part. It's not the ugly stick or whatever that discredits the test for me as long as everything is the same (rod ,line, casting plug). But he and I set our reels up quite differently making his test not compatible to me imo.. I think a CLEAN reel with good technique, proper rod and line for said lure weight are more important than the type of reels. To some extent. Especially with the quality of reels he's dealing with. Back to the 200k held one yesterday. Still can't believe I walked out of there with out buying. Gotta have one or 4... Just have more than I can possibly fish right now

Medium light casting rods
I have a tfo. And a 13 for the same price point I like the 13. Much better. I use them both with shimano 50s. And 8 -10 pound mono or flouro. They're my go to drop shots, light shakey swing heads. And I use one with mono to throw small poppers and such. 4 inch weightless senkos basically anything in the. 25oz range

Picking your battles ... How would you handle this?
Idk maybe it's not a broken gear. I've never seen a schematic of an x5 or any t.m. for that matter. The shop doesn't know either they still havnt taken it apart.

Picking your battles ... How would you handle this?
Yeah I'm almost to that point. If the dude wasn't soo d**n polite I'd be out of there. A year ago he pulled a fury prop off his personal boat and lend it to me while mine was getting reworked. And I keep that in mind all the time.

Picking your battles ... How would you handle this?
I've been using the same boat mechanic/ for 2 years now. Good guys for the most part. And have done decent work so far. But the 3 times I've had my boat in its never ready when he tells me. not even close. On one occasion it was 6 weeks later than he told me. Now. Tuesday June 13 2017. I drop off my trolling motor for a broken gear in the l.u. Owner tells me he won't be able to look at it till later in the week. He said be able to have parts till the next Monday the 19th. COOL! I call back next Wednesday the 21st ( according to his word he shoulda had parts for 2 days by now). He has his secretary tell me he hasn't even cracked it open yet... Ok. I've called once a week. And it's been nothing but excuses and here it is almost a month later. To repair a. Broken t.m. shaft... How should I confront him ? I'd rather get told the truth. Than get told a bunch of lip service.

Fluorocarbon for frogs?
Even with 50# braid and a short amount of line out. If there's any slack with I crack her it's popping 50% of the time with my stout frogging rod.

Fish attractants
Most bag of plastics I open gets a dose of the "sauce" garlic , crawdad, jjs, spike, bang, bass dynasty etc. Can't hurt right?

Tips on casting with fluoro?
Spool tension knob loose. With barely side to side play. Or just tight enough to eliminate. Put cast control breaks 3/4 all the way on. Make a smooth castbut really load the rod so the bait slings with good acceleration and velocity. Back of cast control to desired breaking with practice . Make sure your rod, lure, and line size match a system that works. Too light a lure, or too heavy line coupled with the wrong rod makes casting difficult. Big ol heavy lures cast pretty good

Anyone thrown the Dredger?
I imagine they're tailor made for those areas you mention. And that's awesome. I find it really interesting how some things work great in different hands. There are some sure enough sticks On this forum.

How many hunters and what kind do you hunt?
I hunt the o so elusive east Texas split tail.

Anyone thrown the Dredger?
In my experience they're not buoyant enough to fish effectively in heavy timber. I donated 4 of them to mother fork in one weekend and will never buy another.. For me and my area lakes it's a deal breaker.maybe I'm not patient enough. Or my style doesn't suit well to the Berkeley dredger. 6th sense dd500 is the king round here. I've been fishing the same one for 3 months now. It deflects and backs out of cover when you kill it waay better. And most importantly catches them. Seems to be a big fish bait for us.

Drop shot vs shakey head
I do that when I don't use the d.s. swivel hooks... it still happens. Usually the smaller the fish the more jacked my rig is. I don't like kinks in my little bitty flourocarbon

Drop shot vs shakey head
It's rare I catch fish cleanly on a drop shot my lines get crossed a lot. Even with the swivel hooks. For that reason I like a shakey headr. Or even better a .25 oz swing head with a 6 inch floating worm. Though i do have a little more confidence in a drop shot

Best bass reel on the market!
If you're throwing a dropshot it be the real with the best drag. If it's a big swimbait it's a 400te. I just caught my p.b. on 200e5. Not necessarily the best for big bass but it fit the system I was using that day.
