  1. That's right bro. Way to stick them big girls!!
  2. Vmc pretty good. However I've gotten to where I'd rather fish a swing head jig almost always. Mostly quarter ounce. I'll go up to half and down to 1/8. Depending on the wind cover bait and rod/line setup I'm using
  3. My favorite Lake is a Power plantLake. It just works out
  4. Nice any overs for the tourney
  5. So. I want to build some thing. Budget friendly that I can test knots head to head. So far I'm thinking a frame with a crank on one end with anti reverse gear and catch, similar to the winch on a boat trailer. With a fixed eye on one end or something. Then get a length of line tie two different knots to some hooks (with clipped points for safety) hook them to the crank and the anchored eye and start cranking.... There's has got to be someone more creative than I. Input needed please. GO!
  6. Thank for the heads up A Jay! That's a sweet deal. Lord knows the last thing I need is to fall in love with an Antares though. Im sure I'll try and think yeah my curados are waay better. Bahaha
  7. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Shimano_Tranx_Casting_Reels/descpage-TRX30.html yessir. That's what I interpret as far as the pre orders go... and I'm just saying I wish some of the local tackle shops get a new tranx in Stock so I can actually feel it spin the handle. Free spool that bad boy, palm it, pop the side plates all that good stuff. You're from N.e. Tx as am I. Oak Ridge on 154 @ fork is good about having the best of the best. And they have imo. The best swimbait gear in the area. Mr. Ernie Dye over at lake fork resort is great too. He'll order anything you want. But I'd suspect one of those to have one before too long. I'll keep my eyes open.
  8. Yup I've had my eye on them. You can prevent order from tackle warehouse ships jan31. I'm hoping some shops get them in so we can get our paws on one
  9. Nrx 873 crr is a shining star. I have many high end rigs but this rod is just pure joy in the hands. Even though it's a c rig rod. It's my favorite t rig rod. And jig rod. And c rig rod. Sorry didn't really answer the question in regards to chatterbaits and swimbaits. But for that. An e6x, or imx 844 mbr would be a good place to start
  10. Cashews. If anything. Or pack a lunch. Find a shade tree. Or dock at a marina and grub down
  11. Casting with both hands.
  12. For the last 10 or 11 years all I've bought is shimano reels. Some days I wish I could trade in all my shimanos for the equal diawa counter part. And see what I like
  13. Man. The cove where they dropped the trout came alive. Trout surfacing everywhere. Bass surfacing after. The trout were flying, swimming for there lives. A few beached them selves. The tules were shaking it was gnarly.
  14. Here's a dead one I found over Christmas fishing the canals in el centro ca. 2.6 in the scale. That's a 7 inch bait next to it for reference. Biggest gill I've ever seen
  15. Big fish eat small fish. Anytime you can present an a rig is a good time to fish it. Arig excels in structure fishing not cover(Ledges, channels, ridges, dams, Creek vends etc. Not pads docks timber grass. That being said I have caught fish on big spawning flats ready to pop. IMO.! Regards, dumb ol boy from Texas that snags a good one every now and then.
  16. I wonDer if that duckling got put there. Never have I ever seen a baby duck swim that far away from the rest of the brood and mother
  17. Yeah trout. Found a state park Lake showed up the day of the stock. They dropped the trout and about 30 mins later it started to happen. There was discovery Channel style straight carnage for the next few hours. Ended up with two fish. 6.9 was the biggest. The second pic was a smaller fish but still had a trout in her throat. It was one of the coolest days I've had on the water. P.s. I wasn't kidding about the total carnage. It triggered Bass behavior unlike anything I've ever seen.
  18. I'm sure. Here's another hint
  19. Can someone tell me whathat makes sv spool better
  20. Had some really good days . New years day 2016 I was on a great bite the prior week caught my only d.d. for the year on 1/1/16. Just over 10. This year was my first father's days as a new dad. On father's day Sunday it was hot as he'll here. Caught fish all day. Then got on a school of big bass around 3 and went literally 3 hours and didn't make 3 consecutive cast without catching a fish. Idk how many. Wouldn't doubt if it was over 100. And big ones. Didn't weigh any but the biggest was probably pushing 7 pounds. I was sad because my dad couldnt make it here this year. Or he would have been there share that special day on the lake with me. Those 2 stand out. Alot I loved it. But it's days like that I wish I wasn't fishing alone.
