You have no idea how many times I've barley convinced my mom that i dont need braces. here is my latest excuse: getting braces involves pulling teeth (for me) pulling teeth means less teeth less teeth makes chewing more work more work chewing means more calories burned more calories burned means more food intake more food intake means more money spent on food (and also means more chewing, wich means more calories burnt, wich means more food intake, wich means more chewing.... and so on) more money spent on food means food price highers (it might not seem it, but it does) higher food prices mean less food for poor people less food for poor people means even less food for already starving people less food for already starving people means starvation, sickness, and death There for, getting braces can result in death for others from starvation, and NOT getting braces means global prosperity! What i'm trying to say in a nice way is, troutfisher, YOU ARE A MURDERER!!!!!!!

It was 5 degrees here when I woke up and it is around 15* right now. Its enough to freeze the nose off a brass monkey!

Beans and pork cooked together, lots of chips with lots of cheesy dips, with real mac-n-cheese on the side, and buffalo wings.

Oh, catching a share lunker isn't the hard part for me, its getting there. ;D I've considered hitch hiking, hi-jacking a plane, riding underneath trains and biking, but it would be difficult to do these things will all my tackle... And besides, my mom wouldn't let me go at all....

hey guys, last night I had a dream I went to the fork trip. Me, muddyman and alpster where in a jon boat, but we didnt catch any fish. Right when I was thinking how cool it was to be fishing lake fork, I woke up and the clock said it was 9:56am.... To bad I aint going this year.... maybe next. :-[

I got a little wall-mounted rod rack I got from my grandpa that holds my rods. I sleep with one eye open, and so far they havn't recieved any damage this winter. It is one of the cheap plastic ones, but it gets the job done.

Welcome! I'm 14 and have been bass fishing seriusly for a few years now. I've never fished in a real tourny, becuase I'm the only fisherperson in my family and dont have accsess to a boat and bla bla bla. But I have spent alot of time on the water, maybe too much. My best advice to you would be this: Stay active on these forums! You will learn more than you could possibley think you can, and there are a whole slewth of down-right helpful and extreamly funny members. This site is a bunch of people who can't get bass fishing out of their brains, young and old alike. Oh, one other inportant tip: If you see a post written by The Muddy Man or avid, swallow your soda before you read. If you don't undstand, you will soon. Toodle loo Matt

There is this small lake that has some real big bass in it and has alot of bullhead. I got a swimbait rod, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any swimbaits that are made to resemble bullhead. (or any catfish for that matter) I supose the reason that there are few catfish swimbaits on the market is becuase catfish barbs would make them hard (and painful) for bass to swallow, but I would like to hear you thoughts opon this topic. Do bass eat catfish often? If they do, then I dont see why a catfish swimbait wouldn't catch bass. Thanks in advance Matt

Guys, the easiest way to rid yourself from calling salesmen is to simply make a farting noise into the phone, and hang up. Its just like this: "Hello this is Gartha and I'm trying to rip you off with my bla bla bla..." "Hey garthster, mind if i call you garthster? Ok I'll call you that anyway. Listen, I got to go really really bad and I cant hold it or put you on hold so.... *instert faverite 5 second long fart noise here* Works every time. Then just slam the phone on the table so it sounds like you hung up, and then listen quietly for their reaction. Great way to pass the long winter evenings. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Its plenty fast for me and I've got comcast high speed. Maybe it varries from server to server.

When I find a nice spot I only let my closest friends know about it and make them swear to secrecy. They do the same to me, and so far our golden brushpiles and bass-filled ponds have been kept a good secret. If one of us tells someone else, they are banned from the spot on the threat of your rods thrown into the water and a good black eye. So far so good.

For mono Berkly Trilene XL (dont get XT) cant be beat. For braid I use Power Pro.

I think the new 2007 model is more expensive. I know the Techna AV used to be $170 and is now over $200. But are you sure you aren't getting the HMG and HMX rods mixed up?

Thanks avid. I think we can all agree BassResource.com became a better place the day you signed up. You and muddy are the cause of many a drink spewed out onto my keyboard from laughter. People are always asking me where I get my funny lines from, and are surprised when I tell them they are from a bass fishing forum.

Funny you say that because one of the reasons I could never be a tournament guy is because I love to switch baits. People I fish with think I'm crazy. It's not uncommon for me to catch a nice bass on a partucular lure, and say "ok that works, let me see what else I can fool one on" And switch off to try other baits. Can you imagine what my tournament partner would do if we were fishing for money Hey avid you and me are alot alike. So many lures, to little time. I'm almost as addicted to my tackle as I am to fishing. I stay up late fixing this and changing that, and looking at the newest in the BPS catalog. When I'm fishing I always want to use all my favorites every time. "All my favorites" is a lot of lures, becuase all my lures are my favorites. ;D
