Fighting Cabin Fever (video)
The graphics for LoZ:TP (the game im playing in the video) are not very good and the Wii can do much better. This game was made for the Gamecube, but as the Wii was released they released it for bolth. This hinders the graphics, and truth to be told they are only a little better then some GC games. But IGN gave it a 9 out of 10 and said it was the best laungh title of all time. Its a amazing game, and it has fishing in it, so i'm not complaining.

ARUGH!!!!!!!!! The Lake is finally Iced up
Same here. Nothing worse than a mild winter IMHO. Snow is just so much fun. I dont see why most adults hate it! Whenever we get a wopper of a storm, My friends sleep over the night before. We get up and I make a good breakfast of pankcakes, bacon, waffles (the big homede kind of waffles, not the dinky store bought ones) beans and ham. (with coffee and hot coco on the side) Then we shovel driveways till noon, then go sledding or snowman making or snowball fighting all over town. Then we go home before dark, spend are earnings at BPS.com, and wait for the next storm. Whats not to love?

How have you learned the most about fishing
I'd have to say all of the above. My dad tought me the basics, my friend showed me the more advanced stuff, and I learn most of the other from BassResource.com, and I learned 3 knots from a book. But most of all being on the water. The other day I tried to discribe the feeling when a bass hits your lure to a friend, and I couldnt. Its somthing you have to do in order see.

Fighting Cabin Fever (video)
The fishing in Twilight Princess is amazingly realalistic. You can use a spook, buzz, or popper. (and hook and bobber) you can also unlock crankbaits, but i'm not that far yet. My PB for bass is 20" and for pike is 30"

Fighting Cabin Fever (video)
Well, its too cold to go out to the lake (19 degress when i woke up) but I have my ways of fighting cabin fever.... Click to watch. That wopper was 17" and fought like a shark. He jumped 3 or 4 times, and when I released him the water level in the lake went up 3 inches LOL. (notice i pratice catch and release even when playing video games ) He was cought on a chartruse popper. I saw him holding to the structure, and tried to get him on a spook. (Whoever said topwater doesn't work in the winter doesnt know what they are talking about, lol) Oh, and at the end of the video, i couldn't help but show off my fashionable T-shirt. I swear that BassResource.com shirt has more mojo in it than a budda priest's ear wax, even if it is a videogame. ;D Fishing on the Nintendo Wii is great practice for baitcasting. I've played for hours and havn't gotten a single backlash yet! Matt

What are your GO TO plastics ?
senko/sticko/tiki worm powerbait tubes cant go wrong with these baits fished weightless. Bass go crazy after 'em. I even once saw a bass jump right out of the water at my friends senko that was hanging still just above the surface.

New Dell System Just arrived!! QUESTIONS???
Yo muddy thats sweet. Just remember the disk drive slot isnt a cup holder, the ram drive has nothing to do with dodge trucks, and megabites has nothing to do with big fish eating bait, and everything should work out fine.

Float N Fly?
I read about the Float N Fly during this winter, so i havn't been able to test it out on bass yet. Sorry to hijack the thread, but I was wondering... would using a 4" long 1" wide foam bobber work ok? thanks Matt

Hey If you still havn't figured it out, i posted a run through about how to upload pictures and post them on this site here: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1168572287 scroll 5 posts down and follow the steps. Its pretty easy. once you get the hang of it you can get a free acount at www.photobucket.com. Family violence, take action.
Yes, child abuse isn't somthing to take lightly. This a difference between a good ol butt wipp'n and sticking a baby in the oven, however. You can discipline a child without abuseing them, and i'm living proof. I got more spankings on the rear with the wooden spoon then I got hairs on my head, and gosh darn they hurt like heck. Did I ever feel abused? Nope. Do I feel abuse now? Nope. I think it is the manner that the discipline is carried out in that makes the difference. You shouldn't be screaming at your kid, becuase that only makes things worse. My dad never yells (exept if you switch the channel after he falls alseep watching golf, LOL) he just sends you to the bathroom, gets it over with, then acts like nothing ever happend in the first place.

Swimbait combo for state record....
Next summer I will be working with my dads company, and that means extra funds for the Baitmonkey. I happen to know the location of some prime fishing grounds. So good infact, that myself and several others beleive there could very well be a state record LM living in there. This body of water is several acres and hasn't been fished for dozens of years (prehaps up to fifty) and has some BIG bass. I read the atricle about record bass in Doung Hannons Ebook, and everything he said that made good record waters lined up perfectly with this lake. I mean every last thing he said about where he would look for the big ones pointed to this lake. Now, it is my goal to catch the NJ state record before I die. There is a problem, however. This lake is not open to public fishing, (or private for that matter) most of the lake's border is owned by the state, and they are making it into a public park. The completion of the park should be around summer 2008. Once the park is open the word will spread like wildfire, and fishermen will come from every direction to fish this lake. This will cause the lake to be over fished, and before long it will be just another pond. This being said, I have about 365 days to fish this pond before it becomes public, and I plan to catch the biggest bass in it before then. (the only reason we can fish the pond is that one section of the bank is owned by someone else, thus we are allowed to fish there and not on the states property) So, the reason for this post is becuase I need some help buying a swimbait rod and reel. I'm using swimbaits becuase they are generaly known to catch the bigger bass, and thats what i want. I dont care if i only catch one bass the whole summer, as long as it is a new PB. I plan to spend around $300 on bolth rod and reel. I want a 7 to 8 foot, heavy to extra heavy, casting rod (rated for lures atleast up to 2oz) and a round BC reel with a good drag. However if there is a need to spend more, I will do so. I know that fishing for a state record is no place to cut corners, and even more so when you have only a year to do it. Hopefully I'll make some nice money, so that the price of gear will not be a issue. I'll be using 20-30lb braid (probaly Power Pro) and mattlures swimbaits. Mostly the new panfish design, but i'll also throw some baby bass and older panfish design. I'll be fishing from the bank, and only from the bank. I will be working 5 days a week, 2-5 hours a day. That means i'll have several hours before and after work, then weekends to fish. I'll only be working in late June, July, and early Augest, so most of my fishing for the bass will take place from Augest to December, then next spring starting at March. Every minute I'm not working, (or doing something else) I will be fishing for the record bass or researching about the record bass. I have already read many articles on the subject and I am reading Mr Hannons E-book. Anyone have any tips? If you know of a good rod or reel please post, and do the same if you know of any good articles or books opon this subject, or if you have any knowlage to share. Any help with be very helpful! Thanks Matt

my complaint about the spro bronze eye frog
man guys, you sure use awful heavy line... I use 10lb mono on my BC and can cast SPRO frogs a country mile... Infact the first thing i noticed using them was that they where plenty heavy for BC gear... Maybe the heavy line has somthing to do with it? I dont get backlash using light mono, i can cast it forever, it holds alot a line, and i never have my line snap becuase of using lighter line... I cant see how you guys can fish with 50lb braid and 20lb mono, thats like rope to me. JM.02

Ever been skunked?
;D ;D ;D I have been skunked many a time. But like KU and Raul say you aint going to catch nothing staying home, exept if you have a private pond within casting distance of your back porch.
