  1. Hey, mabye there is truth to the "Save lives, save a tree." That was too close to be comfy.
  2. LOL muddyman this game is the greatest. I just played it again and got a record stomping 38! I squashed 4 guys in 1 stop three times My new PB! Take that, Osama!
  3. email sent... let me know when you get it, i'm not sure if my email is working. :-/
  4. Go big or go home. I'm for the big ones all the way. Catching one 4lber instead of three 2lbers is a better day in MHO. When i catch a avrage bass, its just like hey thats cool, then toss it back in. When i catch a real nice one, it gets your heart pump'n and you all exited, and when you see it slowly swim away after release it is such a good feeling. Thats why i want a swimbait outfit for my next birthday. NJ state record in Assupink baby!
  5. Well, I hate to get nitpicky, but this is actually not true. Virtually all civilizations in the Northern Hempishere historically have celebratory events at the end of December. The reason is obvious. These are the shortes days of the entire year. This lack of daylight is spooky and depressing. The ancients, in their ancient wisdom sort of way came up with a great solution. "Let's party" I don't know how the devout Christians among us feel about what I am about to say, but astronomers are pretty much in agreement that Jesus was born in April not December. The beauty of Astronomy is that very little changes over the course of thousands of years, which is a blink of time in the cosmological sense. There was an astronomical event in april of the year Jesus was born. There occured a unique confluence of stars This is the only plausable stellar event that would have had significance to the "wise men" who were avid astronomers. Thus the star of Bethlehem is rooted in science as well as faith. The celebration of Christmas in the third week of December follows pagan holiday ritual. If I have offended anyone, please accept my apology. It is not my intention to offend. But Christmas has been so thoroughly distorted by so many for so long, that I truly believe we must overcome the hype, for better or worse with the truth. I appreciate dissenting opinions, or factual references to the contrary. Yours in the spirit of Peace on Earth, Good will toward men. avid yes avid, your right. Now one knows at all what the exact date was. However, in this culture, the month of december is "christmasy", meaning you hear christmas songs, see christmas lights, and so on. The holiday season has 3 major holidays, thanksgiving, christmas, and new years. Since thanksgiving is in november, the two main events near the end of the year are christmas and new years. Thus the saying, "Merry Christmas and a happy new year." I'm not saying its wrong to say "Happy Holidays", its just when people say that instead of using "christmas" just so they can take the christian part out of it, It takes the point out of saying it. I mean, christmas is still part of the holidays, so when you are saying "happy holidays" you might as well say "Merry christmas and a happy new year", becuase they mean the same thing. My point is, say "Merry Christmas" or "happy new year", because "happy holidays" means bolth, so if you are trying to take one out, it doesn't work. And like you said avid NO OFFENSE intended, this is JMHO. If you disagree with what i said, then thats fine becuase no one can totaly agree about everything with anyone. If anyone takes offense, I apoligize, becuase none is intended at all. I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving, has a very merry christmas and a happy new years. Matt EDIT Sorry Glenn, i just saw your post now about "stopping anything before it happens". I hope i made myself clear that this is just my opinion, nothing more. I assure you this is my last post opon this topic. And you are right, who cares when it happend. Everyone has a good time and there is joy. The only question is, if Jesus was acualy born in April, then are we throwning his party 4 months early or 8 months late? lol

;D ;D ;D ;D FORL (that stands for "falling off roof laughing") man avid, that just cracked me up.
  7. One thing i hate is a mild winter. IMHO, this winter is gunna be a doozy. Sledding and snowballing are grand fun. and shoveling driveways is a good way to get some funds to feed the baitmonkey come spring time. Building huge snow forts and preparing for a big snowball battle is the best though. Capture-the-flag is at its best during a snowball fight. Every year my family has our "anual snowball war" We invite all the local peoples for the biggest war in town. 2 years ago me and my brother got up at 5am to start building forts. we usualy have 10-15 people on each team. The snowballs fly for hours, then when the smoke has cleared, we all head inside for hot chocolate and sugar cookies. Yum. I live in a small town (pop 2000) and when we get a big snowstorm the whole town closes down. Every shop exept a few chain bussinesses. All the folks go around making merry and having fun in the white world. They dont even plow most of the roads. (our towns only plow is a pick up with a plow attached) You can see quads running up and down Main Street, dragging sleds full of people. Fun stuff.
  8. lol that is another "optional" ingredient.
  9. Hey LBH, you should use the song "God Blessed Texas" for the lake fork video. I listened to it the other day and it would be PERFECT. Just a thought
  10. Seeing that today is the day before International Egg Nog Day (some call it thanksgiving) and that Egg Nog is the best drink, i thought i would share my secret recipe for this frothy drink of heavenly goodness. 12 Eggs 1 1/2 cups of sugar 1 tsp of nutmeg 1 quart of milk another seprate 1 quart of milk 1 tablepoon of Vannila Extract (optional) Beat eggs and sugar in large saucepan intill well blended. put on low heat. blend in first quart of milk. blend together well. Once it starts to steam, stir well with a wisk for 5 minutes on heat. (this cooks the eggs) You have to stir it good or there could be tiny clumps of egg. After it has been steaming for about 5 minutes take off heat. Add nutmeg, vannila extract (optional) and the other quart of milk. Mix well. Place in icebath intill lukewarm, then put it in the fridge for 3 hours to chill. Makes 3 quarts. I figured out that by useing this recipe, it cost only $1.20 for a quart of egg nog. (without vannila) The Wawa and other stores around here sell egg nog for $2.40, so you save half price, and is every bit as good. It takes about 20-30 minutes to make, including icebath. You can drink it warm after the icebath, or let it chill for a few hours. Any one else besides me love egg nog? Its my faverite drink by far. By making it homemade you save money and also can have it year round, when most stores dont carry it. Have a great thanksgiving and International Egg Nog Day Matt
  11. I tried it again but could only get 33.... darn you beat me lol

  14. LOL my dog chases laser too. I'm guessing that the moving dot resembles a small grub or tadpole or somthing small fish, who feed on these types of things, act naturaly and attempt to eat it.
  15. ;D ;D ;D hahahahaha Muddyman, i swear, you are the funniest guy i've ever heard.
  16. Im getting fly tackle and asking my bro for this Rattle Shad kit from BPS: only $15 for 5 of 'em. Great lures too. Thankful Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas! Matt
  17. Well by "entry level" i'm usuming a somwhat cheaper price. If i where you i would get a Browning or BPS reel. there are a ton of models, just get the best you can afford. As for a rod, i would get a Berkly Lightning Rod for $30 or a Fenwick Eagle GT for $50. Those are the best rods for their price range. Stay clear from Ugly Stiks. just my humble .02 EDIT: Oh and i forgot, WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!!!!
  18. yeaha i got 30 on my third try. 8-) woohoo i'm in the lead lol
  19. Speaking of indain chiefs: In the good 'ol days, there was a doctor who lived in a cabin. One day while sitting on his porch, the doctor saw a indian trotting down the path. The indian came up to him and said: "Big chief no poop." The doctor said, "Bring the Big Chief one of these pills. It should help him." So the indian trotted back down the path. The next day the indain came back and said: "Big chief no poop." The doctor said: "Here, bring him two of these pills. That should do it." So the indain trotted down the path. The third day the indian came back yet again and said: "Big chief still no poop." The doctor was concerned so he said "Tell him to take this whole bottle." The next day, the indian came back and said,"Big poop, no chief."

  22. I always used a jack knife blade... I'll have to ask for those pliers for christmas. For those who use or used to use a knife, are the pliers that much easier?
  23. hahahahah that sheep one is rich. ;D ;D ;D
  24. I got mine 2 days ago. Good stuff, worth the wait for the backorder.
  25. Only time i wait is when using poppers, spooks, weedless frogs, and such. For buzzbaits i set the hook right away, same with cranks, spinnerbaits, and mostly everything else.
