As the saying goes " If you ain't losing them, you ain't fishing them properly". Its just part of fishing jigs. They are fairly cheap compared to hard lures.
  3. I'm ten minutes from Rainbow. Good fish coming out of there. Last weeks open on Sunday had 3 13lb+bags. Cedarville Chunk from today.... DT-4 crank
  4. Malaga Lake (SJ Hawg Hunters) 4/1 10 teams competed. Top three had solid bags. Pat (fishing solo) had a 13lb+ bag and the lunker at 4.87lbs. Plenty of non bass and short fish were caught by everyone. One team reported catching 24 fish, no keeper bass. My team struggled to catch keepers. I had one on a chatterbait. Winning teams used crankbait, spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Water temps 47-49. South Jersey Hawg Hunters Date: 4/1/2017 Format: Five bass limit, 12 inch minimum. 5. SK Redeye is about all I use. 1/2oz. most of the time
  6. Newton Lake (SJ Hawg Hunters) 3/25 See an Ultimate Brunch Burger Recipe
  7. Caught my first bowfin in New Jersey last year. I was really dissapointed with the battle, kind of just layed down. no fight at all. Water was in the 70's. Maybe its a different strain up here. A few bass club members caught snakeheads in the last few years and really rave about the fight.
  8. Rainbow Lake (SJ Hawg Hunters) 3/18
  9. Great shallow water bait, especially around grassy spots. Fish it around areas you would a spinnerbait. Its a very productive lure from pre-spawn all the way to late fall/early winter. A white 3/8-1/2 oz. is my favorite. Best New Jersey Chatterbait fish......
  10. Sweet!!! WTG!!! It was just as brutal here in South Jersey.
  11. 1/1/17 Rainbow Lake Nice to get out in January. Not much action as far as largemouth. Had one at 13".The yellow perch were active, hitting a Rapala Husky Jerk. Caught about ten chunky fish. Water temps topped out at 36 degrees, light wind and overall mild day for this time of the year. Some nice bass were weighed the previous day at a winter league tournament. Eight boats competed including "IKE".

  13. The site that posted the events has been down for the past month. It's back up as of yesterday. Let me get back to you.
  14. Nice meeting you. Hope you got some killer deals!!!
  15. Thanks Jason, hope everything is going well for you.
  16. Hit Rainbow Lake around 12:45PM. Raw, windy day for the most part. Water temp(43 degrees) was way down from last weeks 49-50 degrees. I chucked the lipless crank for a bit. No fish. I picked up the jerkbait rod and started pounding the bass, yellow perch and pickerel. The blitz lasted about 15-20 mintues. I had a double header on the Rapala Husky Jerk. A bass came up and tried to inhale a yellow perch I was reeling up. Every fish that came to the boat had another fish follow it. It was really exciting. The bite completely stopped and they were the only fish I landed. Total bass-6 and a half dozen yellow perch/pickerel. Pulled out about 3:45PM.
  17. Got on the water around 7:30. Water temps started around 48. Nailed my first 3lber on a chrome sexy shad Redeye. Continued to move around the main lake at a fast pace. Caught a few more chunky bass around the 1 1/2- 2 lb range. Pickerel started biting too. I fouled hooked a hefty bullhead. Finally got my best of the day at around 10:30. Weighed in at 4.12lbs. Pulled out at 11:00.
  18. Hit Rainbow Lake for about three hours this afternoon. Water temps 49-50. The lipless crank bite was still on. Caught six, mostly 1 1/2-2lbs. One around 3lbs.
  19. Nailed 4 largies this morning on Rainbow Lake. Best went just over 4lbs. A few others right at 3lbs. Chrome sexy shad lipless crank did the damage.....
  20. Its been a struggle for the club during the past month. The hot weather has really killed the action. Same thing last week at Rainbow. Bites were tough to come by. We had some good fish caught but not many numbers. The top team caught them on buzzbaits, spinnerbaits and plastics. I had the two for my team using a SK Redeye lipless crank. Lunker went 4.56lbs Top 3 1. S.Summers/Satanoff Team (Sean Summers & Adam Satanoff) Total Bass/Weight = 4 / 10.94 lbs Points = 22 2. F.Lentz/Nemeth Team (Fred Lentz & Joe Nemeth) Total Bass/Weight = 2 / 6.26 lbs Points = 9 3. Duckardt/Summers Team (Bill Duckardt & Orie Summers) Total Bass/Weight = 1 / 3.51 lbs Points = 6
  21. Congrats to board member jyu87 and partner Zeke for the winning bag and lunker at last weeks club tourney. It was also Jasons PB at 5.03 lbs top three....... South Jersey Hawg Hunters Date: 6/25/2016 Format: Five bass limit, 12 inch minimum. Weather: Started off cool, cloudy, calm. Later – warm, sunny, breezy.Results:1. Zellman/TBD Team (Zeke Zellman & Jason Yu) Total Bass/Weight = 5 / 12.37 lbs Points = 25 2. Lloyd/Circone Team (Mario Circone & Jerrod Lloyd) Total Bass/Weight = 5 / 8.70 lbs Points = 14 3. Miller/Ohono Team (Jim Miller & Jimmy Ohono) Total Bass/Weight = 5 / 7.32 lbs Points = 10 Jason Yu (5.03 lbs)
  22. You will always be good at Alloway all year because of the no tourneys allowed rule. Any other public waterway is pretty much taken over by clubs, mostly on Saturdays.
  23. Most South Jersey bodies of water fall into this category. Too many anglers with too little water.
  24. Club tournament started back up. Rough morning at Assunpink. My team came in second, thanks to my partner Fred for catching all three fish. We also had three shorts and I had one solid keeper break my line after a mid air jump. Most fish came on soft plastics, a few on chatter and spinnerbaits. Top three teams......
  25. I have a club tourney the day before at Assunpink, Not sure if I can make this event. I will let you know during the week.
