  1. Started out as a cool morning on Davis Mill Pond. A KVD 1.5 crank caught the first few fish. Bass were tight to wood. Jason and I continued to catch them on chatterbaits, jigs, cranks. The Senko was not really effective. We had over 20 bass, most in the 1 1/2 lb range. Water temps started in the mid 60's and topped off at around 70 midday. Best of day........ Caught a total of 9 bass on Elmer Lake. All the fish were chunky. Chatterbaits, cranks, plastics and spinnerbaits did the damage. We also caught four pickerels, one solid one by Jason. Best of day......
  2. WTG!!!! Solid spatterdock bass.
  3. Nice going NJSalt!!! You get any water temps?? Is that private water?
  4. Met up with board member jyu87 to fish Rainbow Lake on Sunday. We got on fish early. Pads and wood were key. I lost a 3lber as it catapulted through the air. Finally we settled in and started nailng bass and pickerel. Jason caught the greenies on chatterbaits. My bass came on a 6"PTL junebug colored lizard. One came on a wacky rigged Senko. We had 15+ largies and a bunch of toothy critters. I had a 4.45lber for the best of day. Finally I did land another 3lber after losing TWO earlier. Jason mopped up on the pickerel.
  5. Another bass in super heavy cover pulled out with a jig.....
  6. 90+ degree day. Bass in thick weeds. Probably 6" of water. Jig does the job......
  7. Slop= Jig. That simple. With stout equipment you can pull fish from anywhere............ There is a 1oz. jig in there somewhere.....
  8. Local FLW pro Adrian Avena has a budget of over $70,000 for this year. He's having fun out there....boat loads!!! Only a select few make it and stay on top. That's the way life is.
  9. We have tons of puddles in South Jersey and YES they produce big fish. A healthy forage base equals big healthy bass.
  10. I heard there was a bunch of dead bass( especially big fish) reported after the ice thawed out this past year. The early season tournament results were bad, so this leads me to believe there was a major kill. Have you heard anything? Have you fished there recently? In prior years my club always caught big fish from there. Just wondering what to expect. THANKS!!!
  11. I have a club tourney coming up next month. Just have a few questions to ask.
  12. I'll be free for the next month on weekends until my club tourney seasons starts back up. I usually fish Cumberland and Salem County waters. You are welcome to hop on my boat. Looks like it will be spawn/post spawn conditions on most of the lakes.
  13. I started with the Daiwa TD-S and X models. Once I moved onto the TD Zillions everything improved including casting distance, minimal back lashing etc... Now I own nine of them!!!! Nothing beats using the higher quality reels.
  14. That's what I call this GREAT site. Glad to be a part of it. I got back into freshwater in early 2000. I fish with a small club in South Jersey. Most public waters here are highly pressured so the angling can get a little tough but I'm always up for the challenge.
  15. Boat. I only fish from a boat. Bank fishing is really limited at Parvin. There is a small fishing dock near the ramp launch area.
  16. Just got back into using lizards a few years ago. I'm into the Power Team Lure 6" gator (black and junebug). Let me tell you, these are killer for bedding bass. T-rig with 10lb mono is my setup.
  17. Chilly morning at Parvin State Park today. Water temps started at 58 and jumped up to 65 when I left. Saw a bunch of smaller males on beds. I caught six fish, one on a KVD 1.5 crank and the rest on a Z-man chatterbait. Best was just over 3lbs in about 2' of water. No hookups on a jig.
  18. Stable weather always makes for better fishing. We had a wicked cold front pass through last Friday night that shut down the bite for days.
  19. Put down the plastic. Go with cranks and jerkbaits or some other type of moving bait. Bass are in prespawn up North. They should be feeding.
  20. Thank you. Good to be here!!!
  21. Silver and black. Daiwa Light and Tough rods.
  22. I'm pretty much a Daiwa guy. I use ten baitcasters and four spinning setups. Here are most of my baitcasters.......
  23. We have about 30 clubs in the SJBCA(South Jersey Bass Club Association). Many of them, including the club I fish with, adopted lakes that get cleaned up yearly. We have two trash pick-ups a year at our lake(Rainbow) after the tournament.
