  1. Jyu87 and I fished Bargaintown on windy and cloudy Saturday morning. Buzzbaits were the ticket first thing. I nailed some solid bass. 2-2.5 lbs Jason battled pickerel. The Senko bite was non-existant in the stump filled open water. We went back to the pad/grassy shallow areas where Jason ended up catching the best of the day at 3.46lbs. It was a long and skinny fish. Back to the open water. Texas rigged Senkos finally started producing. Jason also had some spinnerbait fish. We finished the morning with about 10 keeper bass and a few shorts plus a half dozen toothy critters.
  2. Tracker does not use top quality carpet. It retains too much water and has a hell of a time drying completely. I wish they offered the rubber flooring when I bought mine.
  3. Go to Davis MIll. It's coming back strong after a few years of suffering with LMB virus Don't bother with mirror!!!
  4. I have fished there a few times. Lake is almost featureless with very little cover. I have caught bass on the few submerged wood we found. Don't pass up the floating docks at the ramp. I've seen a 5lber caught off there. Use wacky or texas rigged Senkos. Mercer also has stocked muskie. The lake gets mobbed with scullers from Princeton University, so you might be limited in the areas to fish.
  5. Once the water cools down to the 50's, a lipless crank can be your best friend. I use the Strike King redeye 1/2oz. size. The smaller the water the easier it should be to locate aggressive bass. Key factor is to cover a lot of water. Submerged wood and grass are productive areas. Rip the bait. Chatterbaits and spinnerbaits are also very productive during this time.
  6. 10 Teams participated at East Creek Pond for 6 hours. Plenty of small fish for everyone. T-rigged plastics caught the fish. We culled one time, good enough for 1st place. Lunker only went 1.6lbs. South Jersey Hawg Hunters Date: 8/29/2015 Format: Five bass limit, 12 inch minimum. Weather: Sunny, warm, calm. Later - light breeze. Results: Top 3..... 1. F.Lentz/Nemeth Team (Fred Lentz & Joe Nemeth) Total Bass/Weight = 5 / 6.48 lbs Points = 16 2. Duckardt/O.Summers Team (Bill Duckardt & Orie Summers) Total Bass/Weight = 5 / 5.96 lbs Points = 13 3. Lloyd/Circone Team (Dave Lloyd & Kyle Beggs) Total Bass/Weight = 5 / 5.35 lbs Points = 10
  7. Not me, but I know a guy from North Jersey that lost a $400 + swimbait. He was an avid collector, I think he had over 10K in swimbaits. He did end up getting the lure back with a homemade GIGANTIC lure retriever. Here she is......
  8. Big birds fan here. Chip has done a nice job flipping the team over and adding quality depth. The back end of the defense has been totally rebuilt, which was the weak point last year. I am stoked for the season. The team is very exciting to watch.
  9. Club tourney(SJ Hawg Hunters) on Saturday at Malaga Lake. 10 teams plus one guest fished for 6 1/2 hours. My team came in first. We caught them on spinnerbaits and Senkos (wacky and T-rigged). Also culled twice. Probably had over a dozen pickerel. Lunker only went 2.79lbs. 42 bass weighed. Top 3: South Jersey Hawg Hunters Date: 8/22/2015 Format: Five bass limit, 12 inch minimum. Weather: Sunny, warm, breezy. Results: 1. F.Lentz/Nemeth Team (Fred Lentz & Joe Nemeth) Total Bass/Weight = 5 / 9.65 lbs Points = 18 2. Franchetta/Stubbins Team (Al Franchetta & Jenn Stubbins) Total Bass/Weight = 5 / 9.37 lbs Points = 16 3. Duckardt/O.Summers Team (Bill Duckardt & Orie Summers) Total Bass/Weight = 5 / 8.96 lbs Points = 12
  10. River2Sea Dahlberg frog has dissed me. I have no problems with other brands. Must be the diving action.
  11. About 10 years ago I was fishing one of my local honey holes on a misty Saturday morning. The previous night was a full moon. I drop in at the ramp and proceeded to throw a 3-5' balsa crankbait. After two hours and 45 largies I put down the rod. Every fish was caught within 50 yards of the ramp. 15 of them were 4lbs or more.
  12. So many good ones... I attended the first six OzzFests here in Camden/Philly. That experience alone exposed me to many top notch bands. Never a dull moment. The old school bands never disappointed...My favs include Metallica, Ozzy/Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Kiss and Motley Crue.
  13. Welcome to the board.
  14. The DT series especially the 4 and 6 version are high on my list. Some other favorites are .....Manns 1-, KVD 1.5, SK series 4-6.
  15. Split tail trailer 100% of the time. I love the narrow profile for speedy retrievals. Never use a trailer hook. I basically fish it where I would use spinnerbaits. Great for shallow grassy areas.
  16. Don't see a decline here in South Jersey. There are 32 active bass clubs in the South Jersey Bass Club Association. A few of the clubs fish the buddy format including mine, so that is even more people fishing. I always see a good mix of fishermen on the water, including plenty of young guys and a variety of ethnic groups. Most waters are very pressured but that does not seem to deter the "bass" only guys. I guess it helps to have two bass pro's from the area (Adrian Avena-FLW Pro) and you know that other guy Mike Iaconelli.
  17. Every bit helps. We just had a cleanup of our adopted lake this past weekend. Twice a year it gets done after our tournament.
  18. Caught a bunch of 4+lbers this year. I lost a 7+ next to the boat two weeks ago. Best of year was in a club tourney, weighed in at 4.64lbs......
  19. Lately my favorite has been cranking, specifically the Rapala DT-4. It's been producing for me in my club tournaments. I would say frog fishing is my least favorite because of the terrible hookup ratio.
  20. Had a club tourney(SJ Hawg Hunters) on the Salem Canal last Saturday. 9 Teams competed for 6 1/2 hours. We probably had over a dozen short fish(12" minimum). My partner caught most of them on wacky rigged Senkos. I ended up catching all five keepers on a DT-4 crankbait. We finished in 1st. My best of the morning was a 3.48lb fish. Top 3: 1. F.Lentz/Nemeth Team (Fred Lentz & Joe Nemeth) Total Bass/Weight = 5 / 9.16 lbs Points = 18 2. Duckardt/O.Summers Team (Bill Duckardt & Orie Summers) Total Bass/Weight = 5 / 9.03 lbs Points = 14 3. J.Miller/White Team (Jim Miller & Andrew White) Total Bass/Weight = 4 / 8.07 lbs Points = 15 12 miles of wood and spatterdock..... Winning Lunker Weight – 4.00 lbs (Andrew White)
  21. Joe from South Jersey(Cumberland County) Tons of good water down here.
  22. Nice job. You getting all of them out of Puff Warner?? I know a few guys that fish there.
  23. Fish SLOW . Take your time. During the day A wacky rigged Senko will catch them. DOWNSIZE. I use the 4" version. A 3" Senko will get more bites. A shakey head will also produce. You need to find productive areas and fish them slowly and thoroughly. If you fish early, try ripping a buzzbait in shallow areas. The cloudy water is normal for the Pink. ST is usually a little clearer.
  24. Fished Bargaintown in Atlantic County this morning. Jason got on the bass early, catching them on buzzbaits. I had a few misses but did manage a couple of pickerel on plastics. Then there was a long dry spell. The wind eventually picked up and the bass started biting again. The wacky rig caught all my fish. We had about 8 keepers and a few shorts. Best at 2.5lbs I did lose one BIG bass next to the boat that would have been in my top 3 biggest of all time..
  25. My buddy Sam got one yesterday at Rainbow Lake... He did end up with the best catch of the morning...
