Not sure why you dislike 10 but you can put a Linux system on. Be prepared to learn command prompt and a whole new way of working with a computer. You can also change it into a chrome book and go that route. What is it about 10 that you do not like?

Does you reel spool have waffle holes? If you tied through these holes then you will be fine. If not you may experience slipping.

All the models are good. Great sensitivity and backbone when needed.

Look at the bps cranking stick for a rod. These rods excel for crank baits. I use 12lb pline c21 for all of my cranking. I am beyond the norm for reel since I use a tat 6.3 ratio. You cannot go wrong with the cranking stick from BPS.

All the gun play stories are not that smart. Seems no one has respect for what a weapon can actually do. Maybe when you have rounds cracking over your head you will understand it is no game when it comes to firearms. Once a bullet leaves there is no calling it back and when you miss who's knows what is behind the intended target. If you decide to wave a weapon at someone you may not like the response. I never have had good luck on the chain. I have always fished channel and Catherine and that was about 15 years ago. I went out there again with a freind and every cast produced green slime. Is that typical of the chain now? Where is the best place to start looking to catch Bass on the chain?

I have a 76 Sea Nymph with a 76 Merc thunderbolt 50 HP and I run around 35-40. The model I have is called the Fishing Machine. 16 Ft. For a 76 the hull is as solid as can be. Absolutely no leaks. It may need be a pretty boat but it sure does get the job done. I have had it on a lake in Wisconsin called Lake Geneva and it handled it although not at full plane. After all the years the only thing replaced was the transom and flooring with new wood. Other wise it is in great shape. Just ugly.

Went out and got it at Bass Pro last night. 129 on sale and had $10 in points to use so got it for 119.

Are onboard chargers water proof. I had a charger go poof the other day that was just a Schumacher. I have a compartment I can install an actual onboard charger but not sure if it will stay dry 100%. Are these onboard chargers water proof?

Franco, Reverse what you are saying. He is talking holding the handle so it cannot move. Then use your thumb to spin spool and the spool has play forward and backwards. Sounds like to me it could be a bad pinion gear.

I have a merc thunderbolt from 1976 that is original except fuel lines and filters and it is running strong as ever. Wonder how many hours are on it?

The cranking sticks are some of the best cranking rods a person can get in my opinion.

I had the original micro magic. I loved the blank but the guides were way to small for any connection knot I could tie. Then I found out about the FG knot and the problem was solved. Look it up. It takes practice but works great.

I used braid for a whole season with my TWS. As soon as I changed the reel over to my crank bait and started using a hard line like fluorocarbon is when I got the grooves. Not trying to start an argument but I think the softer braid was fine but the combination of a hard line and heat is what caused the grooving. Again, NOT TRYING TO START AN ARGUMENT.

I would go with the starcraft. Newer motor and starcraft quality. Sorry, but no matter how good the motor runs now, I would not by the force motor. Make sure both transoms are solid. Raise motor up and see if it flexes while you put your weight on the motor. If any flex, since aluminum, check for easy access to replace the wood or walk away.
