  1. I would also think the wood stringers need to be looked at also. Good luck on the restore.
  2. From what I understand, that is how the part is redesigned now. I may be sidelined with a shoulder issue so maybe I can get it sent in earlier for repair. The reel is 2 years old. Just really been used this year. Will it still be covered under warranty for this?
  3. No clue. Guessing more friction than braid causing heat? Braid is pliable so I am thinking that it does not keep it's round properties while moving over a flat surface. Copoly, mono and flourocarbon are a hard line that will hold the round properties. This would cause a smaller area of contact and a more concentrated area of heat and friction.
  4. I hope the new zillion TWS does not do the same. I have searched the Web but have found anyone claiming yet.
  5. Yeah I remember all of that. There are still a few out there I believe.
  6. I saw a bunch of threads on another forum about the new tws. I would like to try and finish out this season. See what happens.
  7. Been using my tat all year with braid. No issues. Then I move it my crankbait rod, put some P-Line C21 12 LB and use for a month. Dreaded grooves in the TWS. End of season and ship back to Daiwa. There is something about the original TWS that a harder line does not mix well with. This is the second TWS that has grooved on me with a non braided line.
  8. Are you talking about the PQ Rod and Reel? The ones that are around during the holidays sales? If so, I believe those reels are not the same as the the PQ reels that come separate in the box. Are they more silver in color by chance?
  9. The only thing that really matters, do YOU think you did the right thing? If you are OK by it then it does not matter what anyone else thinks.
  10. Last one I went to I had back problems for a year when the wife pulled my back out. Ha ha
  11. Surprised the usual suspects are are not around attacking this guy that it never happened and he is just brand bashing. If you call for this issue, do they send you the part to replace yourself or do you have to ship the reel in? Looks like one screw on the side of the level wind holds it.
  12. Whether I am fishing the private lake near my house or public water, I use the same tactics and catch the same qty and quality of fish on a regular basis. I do don't see a difference fishing either body of water.
  13. Is there a store near by that carries what you are looking for? You can out the reel on the pole and check if you like it. I have a Tat on the ghost 7'3" heavy. I do not care for the tat because of it size on the rod and the evga grips on the rod do not make a good combo after casting for a while for me.
  14. British Petroleum makes fishing rods....Just kidding. I know you ment BPS. Could not pass it up.
  15. Lake Miltmore in my neighbor hood. Couple of blocks away from my house. Launched my boat in the early am and got 4 bass and 2 pike. Later my buddy wanted to get his boat out and the big ol gal came crashing the party. I was worried that the fall bite was going to be all messed up with the weather last week. I could not launch all week because my boat is a cork and the wind we had would have made it impossible. It was a nice surprise with how good the fishing was yesterday.
  16. Caught my new PB tonight. Water 59 Degrees square bill 5 feet deep.
  17. Your weird clicking is probably the pawl and lever wind gear. Mine does from time to time also.
  18. NADA says low retail 11,600
  19. I use the uni knot with a double loop.
  20. Came across this video. The cost of becoming a pro fishermen. Good watch and will put perspective on the thought of going pro and what it takes to get there just in money alone.
