Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Was going to break my boat out but with weather being cold next week, I decided against it.

Rod Advice Please.
What you have is a good mix for bass fishing. My suggestion is get a medium crank bait rod and you will have the basis that you can expand on as you go along. The medium spinning rod will do quite well for all your finesse needs. You will loose a 1/4 Oz of use from the medium to the ml spinning rod.

Is It Worth Repairing?
The new carbonlight reel is suppose to be very nice. I have a buddy that has one and raves about it when we fish. I do not think she will be disappointed.

Lew's Tp1 Vs Johnny Morris Carbonlite
Carbonlight is a good rod. Sensitive and good backbone. Have not used the lews.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Why are we in the northeast instead of midwest?

Strike 2
Daiwa service rocks. Called them and they said sorry it was a mistake and are sending me the correct part right now. Awesome.

Strike 2
Fast return. Daiwa received reel 11.17 and I just received back today. Unfortunately, the old version TWS was used to fix it. Since it is winter full blown now, will have to wait for spring to see if it holds up.

Shimano Vs Daiwa
Here we go again. Both are good reels. Go to a shop and do a side by side comparison. You will not a get a straight answer here or any other forum.

Daiwa Service.
Thanks

Daiwa Service.
Has anyone ever sent a reel into Daiwa for service? I know the reel is there because I was tracking it. Will Daiwa contact me when the work is finished and provide me with a tracking number back to me?

Shimano Vs Lews
Lars you would probably be better to go and check out each reel seperate and maybe mount on a rod to see which one feels better to you. See if the dealer will let you try casting a plug. Asking which reel is better on this forum, or any forum in that case, tends to flip the kindergarten playground switch of mine is better than yours mentality and you will never get a straight answer. Unfortunately, your question will receive very subjective answers and it will end up only you can answer by doing a side by side comparison. I have to believe there is a bait shop or shops around you that sell the 2 brands for you to check out.

We go on high alert when there is a attack somewhere. We are hardly not on high alert most of the time. But as Bill says, be vigilant and stay safe.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Good luck on the shoulder. Getting rid of the pain will be well worth it. Follow the PT to the letter and you will probably get your motion and strength back to about 95%. Put my boat away this weekend also. It will be a long winter indeed.

Quantum Reels
You have some wrong information here. Pflueger, ABU, BPS, LEWS, Browning made by pure fishing and are iterations of Doyo reels in Korea with factories in China and Korea. In theory, someone can take apart a lews, bps pq and a ABU sts, throw all the parts in the middle and mix up and still put all 3 reels back together (keeping the drag stacks together that is). ABU round reels still made in Sweden. Quantums are not doyo however not sure if that are made by a big company or if Zebco still designs. Shimano and Daiwa are still independent companies.

New Guy Here.
If the boat is fiberglass it will have stringers. Even tin boats can have them.

Strike 2
Just got off phone with Daiwa. Even with the reel being 1.5 years since date of purchase they are going to replace. And replace with the new version. Very nice. Told me they are aware of the issue.
