  1. Way2Slow is very knowledgable person on these boards for motors and boats. He is always helpful and has so many tricks up his sleeve I have learned quite a bit from reading what he posts. I saw nothing in his posts that make him look snobish. Because someone does not like your brand of motor does not mean you should get upset. Force motors have a proven track record of problems. History dictates this. I am happy you have one that runs good. You are a lucky one.
  2. If I remeber correctly, the payments listed on the boats at tracker marine are 10% down and financed for I think 20 years. The payment also included a credit score if iver 800. I beleive the realistic payment will be around $250.
  3. I have a 76 Mercury thunderbolt 50 horse. Not sure if the hours on it but rins like new. If it is maintained then it will be fine.
  4. Go to a hobby shop with the bearing. You can get great bearings at a hobby shop for reels. They will match them up there.
  5. All I have to say is wth with this weather.
  6. My citica came with the red ones like my curado.
  7. Any rod builder in the area can repair it for you. You can try calling customer sevicw and be nice and they might replace the rod for you.
  8. This is not really true. Same bait, line, rod raiting and a baitcaster will outcast the spinning setup with a proficient user. It will also cast with less effort and more accuracy. To the OP. When I was learning, I found out that a quick wip motion worked best for me overhead. I had the same issue when I started with baitcasters.
  9. Boat not out and ready yet so hit the shore last night few a few casts. Loke starting the season out without a skunk. Got 1 pike. Surprised the see the weeds coming up already but was a mild winter.
  10. Have you looked at the new curado i or citica i? Just askin because you said you have the chronarch. The new shimanos are very nice reals. I would get the citica because the extra cost for the cr bearings in the curado is steep.
  11. Bass have no ability to logically think thus will not care about line. If they cared about the line, then bass would care about the hooks, the spinner blades and the big plastic bills on the crankbaits. To the OP, what is the spawn situation where you are. Bass might be in protect the nest mode and not eat node. They will go to the bait to make sure it is not by the nest but most likely will not eat. Most if the time it will just move the bait if it has to. If you were to keep moving the bait into the same area, does the bass keep coming back?
  12. Less than a year should be under warrenty. Send it in for a new one.
  13. Without test driving it, do you know if engine runs? I would forget about fishing much and make sure everything works in it on your first voyage. Stay close to shore and keep checking to see if you are taking on water. What year and model is boat and motor.
  14. Yes, line makes a huge difference. Without line you could not fish. Use what you are comfortable with.
  15. Sounds like a disgruntled employee. The reels are still made by the same company. The same company (Doyo) that makes Revo, Lews, Pflueger, etc. The jm cl reel just changed colors. How can a reel be higher quality when it is the same reel with a different color. Sounds like suspect info as sson as you mentioned the employee said reels better quality.
  16. Yeah I saw that and still no answer.
  17. Star drag has nothing to do with free spool. When the spool is in free spin, the main gear does not move at all. The star drag controls the main gear. When a fish takes line, the drag allows the main gear to release and spin backwards. To the OP, i would bet that inside the spool tension cap, the spacer friction washer is missing or possibly broken. If you take the cap off and look inside, is there anything inside the cap?
  18. I looked up towing specs for your vehicle on the interweb and have seen results from 2600 to 2800. Tin boats do not weigh that much. Wonder why so many different answers for this vehicle. Try calling a dealer. Maybe they can look up a vin and tell you. Does the vehicle have a receiver?
  19. Keep in mind that even if the motor is shot and it is raised out of the water, you can still get cited for taking it out on an electric only lake. Everything said above is great advise. New gel coat can be expensive. When it comes to flex in the transome, you want 0 flex. Rhino really has it right. You can get a great tin boat for 2k.
  20. Kind of strong words to be calling someone a jackass because they are trying to save money by shopping for cheaper. Some folks do not have extra to spend.
  21. If you look, you can most likely find a tin in good shape for $1800.
  22. Sure looks nice. How is the transom? Can you put your weight on the motor and have no flex? Sure is a good looking boat.
  23. Yes. No worries. Use it long enough it will be white.
