  1. We had 6-8 inches in the last day and had up to 50 mph gusts, which resulted in a 3 foot drift in my driveway, which we just removed with an oversized endloader. I made it through the drift in Yoda though prior to getting it plowed out! Gonna be a long winter.
  2. Reminds me of when my dog went to jump a fence and his, well his boys got hung up on the fence. Except there was no graceful fall. Luckily, it was just the skin and I had pliers with me!
  3. We have an air compressor on our lot truck at work that does not like to start when it is cool. So we always take the new guy out, compressor will not start, and have him go inside to the parts desk for a can of compression. Hilarious.
  4. Yes, and I would shoot them over just about any of the regular manufacturers for an upland load. And they reload very well IME.
  5. She was on a trail that I had previously stepped off to 35 yards.
  6. Leftover super spicy chili, with some homemade garlic bread was my snack tonight.
  7. Deer and pheasant are my primary species but I will hunt alot of geese and duck too. Just getting out there is enough for me. I think my new goose blind is a combine, they were literally following it and landing behind it the other day picking corn.
  8. Well hunting season in Iowa is on! Got rid of the old lady last weekend, now I have time to hunt like mad and farm. I got my first doe tonight about 35 yards out and put her down quick. Saw one big boy hanging around but he would not cross a fence, but when the rut hits he is mine. Going to stick another doe Thursday then work on the crops for a few weeks. Then pheasant opener with the year and a half old phenom pup, then rut. Man I love fall. Althought snow this weekend will get me back in the stand.
  9. Rubbing alcohol, it helps when I know I have been in it and it helps when I start showing signs of it.
  10. I have somehow fallen into sales for a great John Deere dealership in Iowa, but things seem to be shifting to a more corporate job due to some special abilities!
  11. Lets go dude! You have extra rods? And what do you charge for rental and guide fees? I have a fly rod but it is cheap as hell and we use them to catch big spawning cats on the rocks.
  12. That is a channel cat no doubt. Many are caught without spots, and when they are spawning they are even mistaken for a blue cat because they can change color so much. I will try and find the pic I have of the only albino cat I have seen in person and caught, it was huge. :
  13. Sign me up man, that would be a trip of a lifetime for me even not being a trout fisherman. With scenery like that I would even pass on bass fishing for a weekend. I think I need to book a trip for next summer.
  14. Touchdown Jesus now officially hates you. And you are never allowed to visit me as you would burn a slow, Irish hating death in my house or presence. I know you are mad at fat Charlie, but let it go.
  15. I would agree with farmpond. I moved from a larger city(smorgasboard) to BFE Iowa, and had some company to start while I lived here. But as that drifted, and I became single, in an area with limited resources I settled on a girl that was work from the start... bad idea. Once you find something that is easy, but worth working for, then you just know.
  16. Prayers sent for a speedy recovery, he was more than gracious 2 years back in the Xmas exchange and he thought nothing of it.
  17. I love watching a 7 iron fly within 8 feet of the hole but I hate putting. I was a solid player who could not putt to save my life. I still get a thrill off of playing golf, but I do not get the adrenaline rush that I do lipping a 5 plus lb fish. Golf never made me shake.
  18. I am quite certain people much wiser than you said the same thing about the BIG 3 automakers : I would trade my Croix Avids for a carrot stick anyday and put my sticks through hell, and have broke 2 avids and have not broke my Carrot Stick yet even though it is my go to rod.
  19. That late in the morning would be a swim jig, worked along the edges of the drop off parallel to the island. After that would be a big worm worked along the bottom from a depth of 6-15 feet depending on where the lake was stratifying. Chances are the fish would be in that range, relating to some structure, and obviously near some cover. My casts would be either from a similar depth range to the same, or from deeper water to shallower, pulling it down the contour.
  20. A sandpit back in Illinois that I use to fish with my ex when we would go with her family to the retreat that her dad's company had for executives. The main quarry was huge, but tough to fish with the ledges in there while someone who didnt know how to fish was operating the boat. But this little 30 acre sand pit was dynamite, crystal clear, and just perfect. We had something like 14 fish in a few hours over 4 lbs with over 100 fish total for 2 people. No joke, I was taking off a 4 plus pound fish for my ex's little sister, had my rod resting between my legs with a buzzbait about 6 inches in the water, and all of a sudden I felt a whack on the lower part of my right leg and had a 5 lber hit the bait just hanging there. It was unreal, you could catch 2-3 lbers all day sight fishing, but go a little deeper and there were some big girls. One of his co- workers had a 6 fish stringer for 2 guys over 5 lbs, and I dont think it hurt it one bit.
  21. Gallon a week here of whole milk for a single guy. A glass in the morning and a glass when I get home. And my fridge is cold and it takes at most two drinks to suck one down.
  22. Nice job again on a solid finish Tin. One day I hope to follow you in a big tournament on the Mississippi! Keep it going kid!
  23. Up to minute reports would be great!
  24. Idaholunker, That makes me want to move out to Moscow even more as a man could not ask for better scenery.
  25. If Montel Williams believes then I do to ;D
