  1. He usually outfishes me too. I've been keeping up with him this year. Mostly by stealing all his tactics and adding a few of my own (chatterbait).
  2. Caught a couple nice SMB like this on the Rage Menace last week. Maybe 3 lbs, more or less.
  3. Hi Jack, they rent out boats there. You can take yourself out! I think it's only like $40 for the day.
  4. I'm game. Let me see what weekday I can take off. Also, we've got to see about that bait caster still.
  5. I use their Inspira spinning reel on a ML rod. It's my fav spinning reel right now.
  6. The ramp at Webster was definitely a clusther****. The fishing started out pretty good, but completely turned off after 11 AM.
  7. I'm a back-seater going on a couple years now of fun-fishing. I never tangle with anyone.
  8. I would think it'd be a couple yrs. And as a local, I'd love to know what pond you're talking about. Ha.
  9. I'm sensing a lot of smelly feet in the thread!
  10. Kudos to you Tom! I always bring a little shopping bag with me when I bank fish. I'll pick up whatever trash I see around at the spots I fish. I think it's a good policy.
  11. It's a 1/0 hook and I fish the 1/8 most of the time. Most of the water I fish is less than 10 ft deep. So that's perfect for me.
  12. They're pricey, but I fish these: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_G-Finesse_Series_Wacky_Jig_Head_3pk/descpage-SJW.html And always get a great hookset pinned to the corner of the mouth.
  13. Both fish I got at Wampatuck were on the Ned Rig.
  14. @Janderson45 great breakdown on fishing spinnerbaits - I'll probably try them more over the next few years
  15. Man, I've never had any luck fishing a spinnerbait--never caught a fish on one. It seems like the chatterbait might be a good substitute for me! I had one rigged with a Fat Albert on there.
  16. Solid day down in the Fall River area yesterday. It was beautiful out until the clouds rolled in and the wind picked up. Water temp was around 68. I caught maybe 15 or so (mostly LMB). They were smaller than usual down there. I got one pretty good one--maybe 3+ lbs on a chatterbait. This was my first time fishing that bait. I got a few fish on it and good sense of how to fish it. I really need to invest in a MH baitcaster setup, the one I have now is garbage. I also played around with throwing some creature baits I just bought and caught a few that way too. Most of my fish came on the ned rig. For once, I wasn't getting bit on a wacky worm at all--very strange.
  17. Try fishing off the rocks at the south end of Spot Pond. When I bank fish, I go there. I always catch a few (LMB and SMB) and some have been pretty large.
  18. They're a great company. They'll fix it.
  19. I use my ML rod more than any of the others. Got my PB 5.5 LMB on it.
  20. Kind of a slow day yesterday - caught maybe 10 or 12. All the LMB were small. The pickerel (on the other hand) were big and aggressive.
  21. Couple nice ones from last week. Caught these all day (about 20 total) the largest went almost 4 lbs:
  22. Real good day at Devol with Rhino - largest LMB went about 4 lbs - the avg size (30 or so fish) was 2 lbs.
  23. @Will Wetline knows a ton about the Quabbin. You should search through his posts. He also recommended a good map to work with: www.necartographics.com and spend $7.95(?) for their very good Quabbin Reservation map. Good luck!
