How much do you spend a month on tackle?
How much do I spend a month? Nope, not telling.

Gomexus Handles
I saw that one. Its very cool but didn't like the knobs. I wanted the bigger, more round ones for cranking.

This sums me up pretty well
There's a Top Golf in Noblesville Indiana that's right next to Interstate 69. The fence around it is so high, there's no way a ball can be hit over it. When it comes to Daly, he was standing on the edge of a hill hitting the balls between cars going down a major highway and then over the highway towards a football field. This was from I think his second time doing this.

This sums me up pretty well
I will say he's entertaining in the same way this guy is..... not sure it's good for professional golf though. Lost all respect for him when he was caught, drunk hitting golf balls down a highway. He could of killed someone just to win a bet.

Geecrack Bellows Gill
I went through two bags this past Saturday and Sunday at two different lakes. How are you fishing them? Are you using braid? Braid from what I have seen will cause the bait to jerk sideways and turn around rather than pop up and float down.

Gomexus Handles
I ordered one about 2 weeks ago and it finally arrived. I have to say, I am very impressed. I will need to get it out on the water for a real test. Here is a before and after of my Calcutta TE 101GT.

Metanium DC vs Steez SV TW
I have my Metanium on a NRX+ 844C, the Steez SV on a St. Croix Legend Elite 6'8'' Med Fast, and the Steez CT on a NRX+ 802C. The Steez SV would pair nicely with any 3 power NRX.

Backing on BFS reel?
Sounds all good. I too am new to BFS gear (only a couple of months) and I was really curious about the braid deal. So far it's been a love hate relationship with it so it too is an experiment but when it comes to BFS stuff everything is, which makes it a lot of fun. FC (6lb Sniper Invisible) has been great so far for me. I kind of wish I had used 4lb or 5lb.

Geecrack Bellows Gill
I rig the 2.8 on a free rig with a 2/0 EWG or I use them as a jig trailer. The 3.8 has been favorite. I rig it either weightless or as a free rig with a 3/0 EWG. Dark Matter has been my favorite color.

Any Fantasista premier users?
I have the 7' M Fast Fantasista Regista. It would have been one step up from the Premier. I picked mine up from Sierra Trading Post for around $200. The original price I think was $500. It's a good deal for around $200 bucks but it is not a $500 quality rod. I would put the sensitivity around the G. Loomis GLX or slightly below. The handle is made of cheap foam which is not a bad thing but I would expect better for the price. The thing I think I like best about it though...It's fun to fish. It's not a powerhouse so you do have to work to get a fish in. Would I go out of my way to buy another one at that price? Not sure. I do like it but I have other options I would rather invest in.

Backing on BFS reel?
Just curious, why the switch to braid? 832 at 15lb would be .0085 and potentially more when it's wet (it's been awhile since I fished this stuff). That would put you in a PE rating of 1.75. It may be too thick for that small spool. I have the Silver Wolf mentioned above and the 22 Aldebaran BFS. I currently have 6lb FC on the Aldebaran and PE .8 on the SW. The FC is much easier to manage than the braid. I get more casts with FC, especially when it's windy, than with braid. I have also backed both with a small amount of mono. I have had more issues, lost fish and lost lures with this braid than anything else I have used. Things have improved a bit with leader. I will also add..... light casts make a big difference as well, checking the spool after you cast for wind knots is a must, and bank fishing is just better with BFS gear. Some of it is user error and some is that.... it's just braid. To give you another comparison on the line. 6lb 832 is .006in, that would be equivalent to the line I am using (PE 0.8). The Verivas PE 0.8 I have is rated at 16.7lbs and it may be higher. I can't break it when I have gotten hung up. It's some of the toughest line I have used.

Metanium DC vs Steez SV TW
I have the regular Metanium, the Steez SV and the Steez CT. All great reels. I guess it depends on what you want to use it for..... I prefer to use them this way. Metanium > Jigs and spinnerbaits Steez SV > T-rigged soft plastic Steez CT > Lighter weight soft plastic (shakey head), Easy Shiners, and finesse jigs

What is YOUR favorite reel for….
Shimano Metanium 8.x:1. Light weight, strong, and won't hurt your hand after all day use.

Popper Colors
Something yellow or with a bright colored belly. This one has caught more fish for me these past two months than any other lure.

Oakley Prizm shallow water lenses
I have been using Smith's for several years now and they have great for fishing. I would never pay full price for them but good glasses and good customer service. On a side note, at my old job they spent the cash for Oakley safety glasses with the mirror frames. They came in a big tube they attached to the wall. They just kept refilling it. I had several pairs. It was a crazy waist of money. They were great for work but not so great for fishing.

Minimum acceptable drag pressure
I set it based on the line I use. I will pull some line out by hand and go by feel. I have been doing it that way for so long, it's just second nature. I would say I am using maybe 3lbs on spinning gear and 6-8lbs on casting. I try to use as little drag as possible, keep the fish pinned and let the drag do its job. I will tighten the drag up some on a flipping and pitching set up just to get that quick hook set but I usually and instinctively still use my thumb.

Brand new Zillion G drag screeching
Agreed. I would exchange it if possible. Taking the drag stack and main gear apart and putting them back together can be a pain but it is not impossible. I have learned to put a very small dab of grease on the spring and in the hole it goes in so the whole system stays in place while you reassemble it. Those two parts for the clicking drag are really small .

Broken Rods
When I was a kid, no joke, we used them for tomato stakes. I would see no use repurposing a broken rod now a days, unless it has a broken tip that can be fixed.

Brand new Zillion G drag screeching
Here is my guess at the sound.... There is a spring located below the plastic clicker that is inserted into the drag washer. Some how the clicker has gotten out of place and the spring is making contact instead. This is from a Steez CT.

Those are cool. I have only fished the traditional Mepps and Rooster Tails. Those are on another level.

Aftermarket spool question
Thanks for getting back.... All good stuff. I usually do most of my tweaking during the winter. This may be a good project for that time. I will have to decide if it's worth the investment. I usually cast about 75 to 100 feet with the stock spool depending on lure weight and the rod I use. Same setting as you. Line so far hasn't really made any difference as long as it's tiny. That distance is fine for the bass fishing I am doing... Especially when I am out on my buddy's boat. He likes to beat the bank from a short distance. I did notice the bearings from Daiwa don't really look like micro bearings. They remind me of the bearings used in the Shimano Core 50. Do you know the size of the bearings in the SW? I also checked out the Roro spool. It looks solid. Did you get the Standard or Senior Player? What do you think of the drag on the SW? It has a slow start to me and then it evens out. Its sort of surprisingly strong for a what it is.

Pick Up Trucks
I haul my PA14 around in the bed of my F150 with the tailgate down. No issues yet. It is heavy but once you get use to loading it, it's not so bad. My rods can fit in the cab up to 8 feet but it gets tricky above 7'4''.

Are these any good
No. They only catch fish. ?
