  1. I have found several over the year and I always give them away. One of my superstitious pet peeves, never fish with another man's lure. The coolest one I found this year was a Japan import from Imakatsu. It looked like it had real fish scales.
  2. I tried some hi-vis orange mono from Runcl, last year. I caught all kinds of fish with this line and you can clearly see it underwater. It's sort of reflective. I don't think the fish care.
  3. What application are you using it for? I have tried regular Shooter and it was just good. I like Invizx better and Tatsu way better. I heard this version of Shooter was kind of similar to Seaguar Abrazx. I am kind of curious about the 12lb Tatsu of yours. I have been using 10lb, 12lb, and now 15lb and never found the line to be all that stretchy unless I get hung up and I am trying to pull out a snag. What makes it better to me than Invizx and Shooter is it's ability to go back to it's original form after being stretched. Earlier this year, I finally changed out the Tatsu on my main set up. It was 4 years old. If you are looking to try something different from Sunline for main line, you might look at Sunline Defier. Love this line and it's mono. It does stretch some but better than any other mono and it holds up really well> Imagine CXX but much more manageable and soft.
  4. Nothing wrong but to tell a story..... I use to fish with a guy that had all the same setups, both rod and reel. He fished the same line on all and the same lures mated to a specific tape marked rod. The rods were all 6'6'' MH Fast. One year he broke a rod and there was no fixing it. He bought all new setups, 4 rods and 4 reels, each exactly the same even though there was nothing wrong with old ones. Superstitious and thick headed until the end. He did catch fish left and right though.
  5. Shimano Calcutta B 200, Shimano Tranx or Curado K. The K would be choice. I tore mine down recently and noticed how well made it is inside, even compared to other Shimano reels. The main gear is huge. I looks like it could handle some bigger baits easily.
  6. Boca has the ABEC5 Ceramic for $12 and there is a coupon code for 35% off> ROLLVEMBER35
  7. The Shimano bearing should be the same size as you listed above. It's part BNT3927. You can check it on Boca's website. https://www.bocabearings.com/fishing-reel-bearing-tips-advice/shimano-fishing-reel-bearing-cross-reference Here is Shimano's site for reference. They have free shipping as well. https://fishshop.shimano.com/collections/ant70ahg
  8. What reel are you wanting to work on? I have replaced a few of these on some Shimano reels. I have been ordering them from Shimano parts' website. They have been somewhat better than the bearings that come with the reels when new, $6.11.
  9. 110's in Pro Blue, French Pearl, Elegy Bone, Sexy Shad and Perch.
  10. Amazing reel. Thanks for sharing. Definitely a work of art.
  11. I really wouldn't recommend I either one, especially from a kayak. I would think salt will get everywhere, even in a DC reel and all of Shimano's MGL reels are not rated for saltwater. Out of what is a available, the Chronarch G and the Tranx 200 would work for salt on a regular basis.
  12. I thought some 20lb braid and some FC leader would be killer for the Ned rig but that was not the case for me. I went back to 6lb Trilene XL 100% FC and have had much better luck. The braid and leader combo just felt off, like the bait had less feel on the bottom> Which does seem right to me but that was the case. So sticking with 6lb FC moving forward. I also have used Tatsu 10lb on a baitcaster with a 7' M Fast rod and it this has been my favorite set up for the Ned Rig.
  13. I tend to try at least one new line a year. This year is Seaguar Gold Label leader and Daiwa J-Fluoro as main line. I tried Sufix Advance and it was not to my liking. I tried 2 spools and no luck.
  14. Tried 30lb and 20lb. 30lb was ok but 20lb was a mistake. 40lb is now the lowest I will go.
  15. My initial thought is that this is a scam. They do have a number you can call and an email address. There is a ton of fishing equipment that is made in Malaysia but I don't think some of the vendors would be OK with their pricing. Also, the website is pretty extensive and I find it hard to believe a scam site would go to that level. I could find little info on it but it does have a secure signature. I would contact them and see what they have to say. As far as shipping goes, it's not uncommon for something from that area to take 2-3 months.
  16. Just a strange coincidence, I called Quantum about several issues I had with a Vapor PT and I talked to a Margret (same as the card in the box). She was great and she did all she could to help with my reel. On another side note, I just bought another Quantum today, a KVD Smoke S3. I picked it up for $60. For the price, I couldn't pass it up. I hope it is as good as my other Smoke.
  17. I looked at getting this reel last year and decided against it. I ended up going with the Antares 70A. I do have the Curado DC and the DC system does just fine with a weightless senkos but the rod is going to be the key. I believe the 70A will cast a bit further but the casting is effortless (similar to my old Core). I have tried a 4in senko weightless with 10lb line on a 7' M Fast rod and the 70A was amazing. Other reels I have tried this on have not been that great, except my Steez SV TWS. It will cast a 4in Senko almost as well but not as far.
  18. I have a Steez SV TWS that did the same thing but just did a normal clean and lube and it was fine. With mine it was the spool bearings and the spool making contact with the frame. Overall, the reel was dry out of the box.
  19. I think I have tried them all and still go back to GYCB 5in Senko in Black with Blue Flake.
  20. I wouldn't run a swim jig through the grass but just over top of it which may mean moving it fast. If the water is shallow, less than two or three feet, I would try a different jig, like a punch jig or a grass jig.
  21. The Lucky Craft LC SSR. I have bought at least 3 or 4 in ghost minnow over the years and they flat out catch fish. I always have one tied on when I am fishing shallow water.
  22. Both are good reels. If I were choosing, it would depend on what I was going to use it for. If I were new to baitcasters, and was looking for a good general purpose reel> the SLX DC. If you have some experience with baitcasters and a DC reel is not a big deal, then definitely the Tatula.
  23. I would think so. The only thing I could see being an issue is if the rod tip is soft for a fast rod. Most flippin rods are pretty stiff so it should be good to go. It would help more if we knew which rod it was specifically.
  24. Shipping everywhere has been compromised. I have a package of fishing stuff that has been sitting in Portland for a month. USPS says they are down to less than 1/3 of the staff at that hub. Covid and a workers' dispute has done a number out there.
  25. Yes. I picked up the 6.x:1 earlier this year for the same price from Asian Fishing Portal. I had a few questions about it before I ordered and they were great through the whole thing. I fished it hard every weekend. It is a fantastic reel, if not the best I have ever fished. I used 12lb Invizx and later 12lb Tatsu on it. I paired it with a G. Loomis 853C NRX. Match made in heaven.
