Fix for geary reels?
In the money you would spend to fix them, you could buy new reels. The best thing you can do is deep clean every bearing, including the AR, and oil them. Then clean and add grease to the gear set. It also couldn't hurt to clean the line guide roller, especially the ends that sit in the reel.

OSP DoLive Stick Review
- G Loomis NRX+ 883/GLX 873C Bladed Jig Rod Opinions
So I have the NRX+ 883C BJR. I have tried multiple rods and so far this one has been perfect except for the darn hook keeper. Its right were I grab the rod sometimes. Is it worth at regular price, maybe but I got mine for a good deal. As far as this rod goes, it loads perfectly on a cast, it has the right amount of power to set the hook on a 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2oz bladed jig and it doesn't wear on your arm. I have also used it with great success as a spinnerbait and topwater rod. It will also work for jerkbaits but I have other rods I like better. Another rod to look at is the Megabass P5 Daemos. Its a little bit softer and not as sensitive but its sort of a jack of all trades rod.- OSP DoLive Stick Review
I got a pack of these in the 3.5in size last year as a freebie from JLS. I caught a few on them but I wasn't sure how to fish them and I wasn't really impressed with it at that time. So this year I went down a rabbit hole with them and tried a few different sizes (3.0, 3.5, and 4.5in) and colors (green pumpkin, crystal shiner, and gorimiso black) to see what worked and what didn't. Well all of them worked in one way or another. I have used the 4.5in on a no weight Texas Rig, a Free Rig, a Wacky Rig and as a trailer on a bladed jig. The 3.5in was great on a Free Rig and ok on a drop shot. The 3.0in was fantastic on a drop shot though but all three of these sizes have been killer on a ball head or strolling type head. Are they better than a Wacky Senko? In numbers, it's close but wacky senko still brings them in. On the other hand, if the bite on a Senko stops, the DoLive Stick is way more versatile. It's like a senko and a fluke style bait in one. They also hold up for about 3 or 4 fish unlike a Senko that might tear after one. The thing I can't figure out is why this bait isn't talked about more. Also, why do fish hit this thing? It really doesn't look any different than a bunch of other baits I have tried. In the end, it's been a fun experiment. It's a good bait that I will try to fish more in the future. I just hope I can get them at a decent price. Anyone else use them? Like or dislike them?- Diawa Laguna Rod?
Nope. I did the same thing before I bought it. In store and on the water use are two different things.- Diawa Laguna Rod?
I bought one for a buddy of mine last year as a Christmas gift. It was the 7' M Fast Spinning. He snapped the tip, about 2in down, bringing in a crappie. He replaced the tip and it broke again about half way down bringing in a small bass. I would pass.- thinking of bringing some Beavers to the ocean.
You can try the Crush City Bronco Bug in Pearl White and get the Spkie It Dip to make a few bright colors. The Bronco Bugs are now $8 a pack. I might be off but I thought they were $6 a pack when they came out. The DoLive Beavers are $10.99. Crazy but I tend to catch more fish with them. Down side, they tear easy. I think they came in saltwater colors at one time. OSP does have the Dolive Shrimp and the Dolive Craw. I have gotten saltwater colors in both of these. They will come in a light blue bag to denote that it is for saltwater.- Need a GOOD spinnerbait
Another one I forgot about.... Picasso. If you order from their website they have ton of options, including wire type.- Need a GOOD spinnerbait
Ya, I can't believe the price on them now. I just ordered a few from Japan, $9 each. Those will be the last until things change. The Jackall Dooon is another good one. I only have one but I have caught fish on it. They also had one called the Eruption Jr. This was a really good one for me but I haven't seen it available lately.- Your favorite drop shot rig and "Goby" color minnow, and line! Fyi, here's mine
I use a NRX+ 842 SJR with a Daiwa Emeraldas Air 2500. I like PE 1.2 YGK Upgrade with 10lb Seaguar Gold Label. For hooks I use a #1 Gamakatsu G Finesse Swivel Shot or a Decoy Masubari. My favorite baits are the Berkley Flat Worm and a Roboworm.- Need a GOOD spinnerbait
OSP High Pitcher. Its compact and easy to use. Also holds up pretty well.- Japan Tariffs
Definitely one of the best parts of ordering from them. Its always something good. I still have a few 110s new in box that they sent me but the best part is getting some softplastic that I would never buy.- Japan Tariffs
I've gotten several packages from them and I have gotten some in three days. Faster than an order from Tackle Warehouse. JLS has been great.- Japan Tariffs
I'm in the same boat. I placed my order Sunday the 17th. I hope it makes it. If I am charged, I will not stand for it.- Bad spool of line?
Odd. Check the line roller in the reel. Might be a long shot but if its snapping and you pulling you line tight with a lure on, its another point of pressure on the line. And yes, it could be a bad spool.- Can't get the Bite
Here is what you need. 😄- How do yall get the chasers to bite?
I always say that this is the time of the year when bass get stupid. 1-2 feet of water clarity, heavy boat traffic, and high water temps makes it difficult to land fish sometimes. If you get a lot of chasers, I'd switch to a jerkbait or crankbait. I tend to go slow, give the bait a quick pop, pause it and that's when they will stop chasing and commit. The problem is they are still acting stupid. I don't know how many fish I foul hook this time of year but its a lot. This same idea works for poppers and topwater walking baits.- 8 strand vs 4 strand braid for pitchn'/flipn' lilly pads.
4 strand works best in heavy vegetation. I have used 8 and it gets stuck in stuff more often but I can make it work. I like 50lb. Also, the noise is just part of using braid. They all make some noise to a certain extent.- Can’t get a bit on a wacky rig
Fished a wacky senko pretty much all day this past weekend. I caught 7 like the one below and a bunch of small ones. If it was a tournament I would had around 16lbs+. When the bite slows down or conditions are tough, a 5in wacky, black and blue tip Senko or a BFS crankbait are my go to's. It is alive by the way. It had one bad eye.- A more Premium Mono?
Sunline Machinegun Cast if you can still get it.- Show me your old school tackle boxes.
The Dutch Masters cigar box makes it complete. 😁 My dad smoked them and I had several of them as a kid. I kept everything in the from baseball cards to my secret stash of money (about $20).- Post a photo a day!
I don’t normally take pictures of other people's dogs but I was on my way to Petco and followed this 200lb monster all the way there. Dude is living his best life.- My old school Stradic meets my new Stradic lol
Sold a Stradic FJ 2500 on Ebay last year. I couldn't believe it when the auction ended, I got around $200 for it. Great reels. - G Loomis NRX+ 883/GLX 873C Bladed Jig Rod Opinions
