What are some good Rods in the $180-$220 Range
For me in that price range, I would go with the St. Croix Avid.

Texas rig hook size
I like the 4/0 Owner EWG Plus or the 3/0 Deep Throat from Gamakatsu.

Who uses Junebug worms
I don't think I have found a bait in the Junebug color that doesn't work. Its probably, for me, the most versatile color out there. It catches fish all year round.

Metanium MGL/ Steez SV TW
I was about to post the same topic. I have a reel that was damaged that I need to replace and it can't be repaired and these are the two that I am interested in. I had the original Steez and it just didn't do it for me so ended up returning it but the new Steez that I have looked at is way different in feel and smoothness. I have not put my hands on the Metanium MGL as of yet. I have several other Shimano and have never had an issue but even though my Shimano reels are my favorite, I am not a total fan boy. I like what I like and a new Steez is a possibility.

Lipless Cranks
The Red Eye Shad for sure but the Yo Zuri Rattle N Vibe as been great for me as well. My favorite is the one you want a substitute for > the LV500. I have caught tons of fish on this lure. The Chrome Black is my favorite color.

Thanks. I am obviously not in a hurry so I will keep my eyes open.

Looking for Kayak Advice
I looked at the Ascend 128T on BPS website and it looks pretty solid but not on sale at the moment. $600 looks like a great deal. Do they have a time of year when they usually put these on sale?

Looking for Kayak Advice
I am thinking of getting my first kayak and was looking for advice on what to get or not to get. As far as a budget goes, I am thinking under $1000. I will obviously be using it for fishing and I will also be putting it on top of my SUV. I think I will also try to hook up a depth finder as well. Thanks for any advice.

What happened to Mister Twister?
They use to be everywhere but I can hardly find them in a store. DSG carries the crappie baits but nothing else. I always liked their lizards. Great bait.

Changing out soft plastics
As long as they are stored in a decent temp range and they are kept in a sealed bag, most plastic can last for years. Like with most things, extreme cold and heat will do them in.

Headlamp for dusk fishing?
The pic I posted is from Amazon and is actually the wrong one. The one above takes regular batteries. The one I have is rechargeable. Here is the link to it on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Princeton-Tec-Apex-Rechargeable-Headlamp/dp/B01CHCGAB6/ref=sr_1_4?crid=R21K1EFC9Y4A&keywords=princeton+tec+rechargeable+headlamp&qid=1549744718&s=sporting-goods&sprefix=princeton+headlamp+rechargeable%2Csporting%2C173&sr=1-4

Headlamp for dusk fishing?
I found a few small sheets of greenish yellow mylar a craft store that bend to cover the light on mine and it seems to keep most of the bugs away. Since the light bends where it attaches I can either use painters tape or velcro to secure it. It may look goofy but it works. Also, I have a red lens for my light but it doesn't help much with bugs.

Spinning reel differences
A better reel may reduce line twists but good quality line and proper maintenance will go much much further.

Tatsu #6 lb. vs. Seaguar Finesse #6 lb. for Drop Shot ?
I have tried Tatsu, Invizx, and FC Sniper in 6lb and out of the three I like the Invizx the best for finesse fishing. Tatsu was great but it just didn't work as well on spinning gear. FC Sniper was just too hard and I was constantly fighting it. If this was 12lb on casting gear, I would probably have a different opinion.

Headlamp for dusk fishing?
I have this guy and it has been great so far. One of the best investments I have ever made. It is a little heavy but it has worked out well for just about every condition I can through at it. It puts out a lot of light.

Is this legit?
Wow. I think I will keep my online shopping on the sites I am familiar with. No pun intended but this website seems a bit fishy....

St.croix mojo bass, or g Loomis e6x?
One my fishing buddies has both and prefers and swears by the E6X. With that said, I would get the St. Croix Avid before the E6X.

Baitcaster under 130$?
Maybe a little more than your budget but the Revo STX can be had on Amazon for $150 or they have the SX that is under your budget.

Spinning rod for smallmouth
For smallmouth my favorite rod is a Fenwick 7'6 ML Elite Tech Walleye. It is no where near as sensitive as the NRX you have but it is long, easy to pitch light weight baits, and hook sets are surprisingly easy with this rod because of the fast tip. I went through a 6 different rods (St. Croix, G. Loomis, Shimano, and Daiwa) until I found this rod just for smallmouth even though it is for walleye.
