St. Croix Triumph or Premier Series?
I had a Truimph and it cracked on me just above the reel seat. So, IMHO, I would not even look at one. The Premier is OK but I think Muddy picked a good one for you in the Fenwick.

Lucky craft Laugh
I did a little research and the guy in the video endorses everything fishing. He must be popular somewhere. His name Juan Carlos Valcuende and I believe he is from Spain. Here is a pdf link with some info in Spanish. http://www.depredators.com/pro_staff/03_PROSTAFF_VALCUENDE.pdf

Yo-Zuri Hybrid line
Good stuff. I use for just about everything.

What brand oil and lube do you trust?
For the most part I use what reel comes with, with exception of Hot Sauce. I bought some of this with my Energy Pti-a spinning reels and it leaves a plastic like residue behind. I have started to use Shimano's reel oil instead.

Pats or Colts next sunday
Coming from Indy, I have to go with the Colts. New England has a great team but I think the Colts are better Defensively and at special teams and they are equal when it comes to offense. I don't think the Patriots will be able to run the ball which will give Bob Sanders and Marlin Jackson a chance to double Moss and the guys like Mathis and Freeney a free shot at Bradey. The only thing I think the Colts will strugle with is covering the Patriots TE's and Wes Welker. They always seem to be a big part of the offense. Anyway, it should be an awesome game.

Rudolph Giuliani a Red Sox fan?
Never trusted this guy and never will. I have always loved the Red Sox and loathed the Yankees. Anything for a vote is what I'm seeing from Giuliani. I don't know if the Red Sox fans would welcome this guy, coming from New York that is. It should just baseball and not politics.

Which rod would you buy
I'd go for the All Star. I had a bad experience with their customer service in the past but it still gets my vote. I liked the feel and action of the rod I had a lot. The one I had cracked when I hooked into a 40+lb catfish. I only had it a couple of months and I was able to exchange it where I purchased it. The sales guy talked me into a St. Croix Avid instead.

anybody tried these?
I checked the first bait on link you gave and that is one expensive lure, $69. According to Tru-Tungsten's website, it is still in development.

Open water jigging- what line do you use?
15lb P-Line Floruclear or Trilene Fluorocarbon 15lb would be my choices.

Best Bang For the Buck???
1. Shimano Citica 2. Daiwa Zillion (It might put you a little over you budget but it is well worth it)

Who here purchases bulk spools?
Years ago I all I used was Trilene XL, XT and Big Game. I always bought bulk spools. After sometime, I had fallen behind with all the new lines that had come out. About two years ago I finally decided to through away all the the old line I had built up and check what was out there. I have since gone to buying bulk spools of Yo Zuri Hybrid. BPS had 1/8lb spools of it for $4.50. For example, I got a 1000 yards of 6lb for $4.50. The line so far has been great. I stocked up on several different pound weights. I have enough line to last me a long time.

This was a first for me...
I go to BPS with a purpose. That means if I go in, it is a sad day for my check book. I have to drive a couple of hours to get there so I usually make a whole day of it. So I tend to stock up on things I can not get locally. It is a sad and sick disease. I can't wait for Cabelas to open up here in Indy.

snap/clip/knot for tieing on hardbaits
I tie directly to the bait. For some reason I have it stuck in my head that using a snap or clip will somehow negatively effect the action of a lure.

Senko Question..
I'd go with the 5in or 6in in any dark color. I have had zero luck with the white Senkos but I have caught several fish on white grubs over the years.

Found another weapon of bass destruction

Just 3 baitcast setups
Here are the three rods and reels I use the most. 1. Shimano Calcutta 251/ G. Loomis BCR803>Med. jigs and softplastic 2. Shimano Calais 201/G. Loomis MBR 743C>General purpose rod 3. Daiwa Zillion 100 SHLA/G. Loomis MBR 844C>Heavy Jigs, Carolina rigs, Jerkbaits and Rattle traps. I swap these setups around sometimes to just mix it up some.

Senko fish!!!
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish..... One to many Senko fish. Doctor Suess I am not, but I catch way to many fish on Senkos to post a pic.
-
which shimano?
I'd go for the Curado 100D.
-
MH casting rod , Which is the best?
I voted for the Compre but as others have stated the G.Loomis MBR 844C is an amazing rod.
-
What was your first rod and reel?
A cane pole was my first but I took a big step up when I got a Zebco 33.

What's your favorite peice of fishing equipment?
Beside my Shimano Calais, I would have to say it's my Case pocket knife. It has saved me more times than I can count.

Look at some these beauties that are for sale
WOW Those are some seriously expensive reels. Definitely for the serious collector.

Shimano Stradic Problems???
I just purchased one the older Stradics and I have no issues with it so far but it was a little stiff at first. I put two drops of oil in the maintance port and I took just a little grease off of the spair spool, put it on the shaft and the problem was solved. I guess it had a little lot rot. I did read the reviews on BPS website and I wonder if a couple drops of oil could have fixed these issues. For me though, I would not hesitate to purchase another one.

Shimano or Daiwa?
I have 6 Shimano reels and 1 Daiwa and I enjoy each one of them individually. I have 2 Curado 201 SF, 1 Calcutta 251, 1 Calais 201a, 1 Stradic 2500, 1 Sustain 2500 and finally a Daiwa Zillion that I purchased at the beginning of the year. I looked at and fished a Steez and I did not see anything wrong with Zillion at about half the cost. To make an analogy, I would compare my Calais to a Cadillac and the Zillion to a BMW. Both great vehichles (reels), one smooth and the other a precision instrument. Bottom line, you can't go wrong with either one. My personal prefernce is Shimano but the Zillion is a workhorse of a reel. If I had to pick a reel that was a bullet proof, everyday reel that does everything you ask of it, I would choose the Zillion over the Curado but if I wanted to increase my fishing pleasure then it is the Shimano Calais and the Stella all the way.
