  1. I can't imagine a 36v battery on a kayak, even a lithium. I'm guessing that would be around $400-$700 for just the battery but it would be cool to get over 4.5mph.
  2. Nope. I still haven't caught a fish on it. Most other Shimano baits have been fine. I have done pretty well on the World Minnow and the World Pop but the Macbeth has been the best of the bunch.
  3. I had the Smoke S3 and the Tour S3 and sold both but they were solid reels. They just didn't suit me and were not getting used. I would recommend them though.
  4. At a loss for words. I can only wish you the best.
  5. Absolutely. A G.Loomis 783C GLX and a Shimano Core. Its almost 20 years old and is still just fantastic. I've said this before but it's sort of like this for me if you remember the movie....
  6. I've really liked the 883C NRX+. It took a bit to warm up to it but after a few good days on the water, I was sold. It goes with me every time I'm out. Fun rod. Again, hate the hook keeper though.
  7. The Lucky Craft Pointer 100 would be my choice. It does a great job of suspending and staying still but with that said, the Vision 110 has been my go to for about 20 years. I have never had a bill come off. I have cracked one on a rock but that's it and that bait still catches fish. I have a Pro Blue 110 that I have caught well over 100 fish on and it still looks and works great. I look at this way. I hate paying $25 for a 110 so I order most of mine from Japan for around $12-14. I may buy a special one from The Hook Up Tackle from time to time but I am not going to pay full price unless I have to replace one, which I have only done once (110 JR +1 in GLX Spawn Cherry). Also, I think I would rather pay for a bait that I have confidence in, that I know is good straight out of the box, with sharp hooks than take a chance on a cheaper bait. I've tried though and haven't had much luck so the cheap bait ends up being a waste of time and money.
  8. I don't know what your budget is but you can get a JDM Conquest 200 (which is the size of the old 100) for around $325. The US price is $600. If it matters, it looks like the parts might be the same. It also has a 4.8:1 ratio.
  9. Its either 12lb or 14lb Sunline Invisible.
  10. For deep cranks yes. I have Gomexus 100m handles on two other cranking reels. I might do one more in the future. The one in the picture has titanium knobs. They are smooth but a little slick. I actually like the bigger sponge grips better. I kinda thought this handle would look cool.
  11. I will second this. I have 4 Calcuttas for cranking (I would highly recommend this reel as well) and yet I still reach for the Steez as my primary cranking reel. I did replace the handle though.
  12. This is how I feel at my local Cabelas..... 😃 Just joking of course but your story made me think of this.
  13. I threw a 5in Senko on it the last time I was able to fish. I was using it on an 843C NRX+. It would cast just fine but I didn't catch a darn thing.
  14. The only suspending bait I have used it on was a few Duo Realis Rozante. Seemed to work ok. I think water temperature effects this bait more. I have used 10's, 8's, and I think 12's on BFS cranks and trout minnows. Ordered them from Digitaka when I picked up a reel.
  15. I haven't used them on 110s but I have used the Fang 62-A on cranks and small jerkbaits. Great hooks, super sharp, and haven't bent one yet. I believe their Armour Point hooks are more of a general purpose hook but geared towards jerkbaits. I would say go for it.
  16. I've thrown everything from a 3/8oz crankbait to 1.5 oz swimbait with ones I have. Didn't have any issues. I think the rod would need to be correct for the application along with line. I wouldn't use it for stuff below 1/4oz. With that said, I think it's sweet spot is 1/2oz. It is a pretty versatile reel.
  17. I wouldn't say it was the worst I have used but they did not hold up at all. Each broke during tournaments but I did catch a few fish on them at a local pond, zero on big water. In that case, I used a multitude of different cranks that caught fish but not this one. I think I broke 4 to start. Not sure after that. I also had this happen on the Flicker Shad. I only had 2 of these. They did not last but a few outings. Just in case, I haven't had but maybe 1 other bait do this in the past 15 years. Another bait that has produced zero for me, is the Stunna. I gave them all to my buddy last year and he too has been skunked on them. Not sure why. I really like the colors and the action of the bait. On a positive note, I have caught fish on the Fritside 5 and 7 and they have held up. It's not my go to crank but I have gotten my money's worth out of them.
  18. I remember having a few of these as a kid. Like a lot of lures, it was hot then it's not. Nishine makes good stuff though. They make baits and lures that they like to use. So I have a confidence in their products. Stole this from E-bay.
  19. I bought a few when there was a big Black Friday sale about two years ago. The bill broke off of each one. Berkley tried to make it right though. I called them, sent a picture of what I had left of the bait and they sent me some new ones to replace the broken ones but those too did the same thing.
  20. I kind of got away from the open hook jigs. I would snag them on wood so often it felt like a waste of time and money. So I started using the Block Head Jigs from Owner, 1/8oz with a 1/0 hook.
  21. I like fluorocarbon for things like swim jigs and chatterbaits. Currently I am using 12lb and 14lb Sunline Sniper Invisible but have also used 12lb and 15lb Tatsu. Both work great. Another line I like is Seaguar R18 Fluro LTD. I have used 10 and 12lb. It's sort of like Tatsu. With that said, I would try FC first and if the Daemos doesn't have enough power to pull through the grass the way you like, I would go braid to leader.
  22. The inventory manager getting ready for your arrival. 😃
  23. The loop knot pictured above is what I learned as a kid. I lost a lot of lures because of it. I too have no faith in it. I like using the split ring, in particular the Owner oval or the tear shaped ones. With the tear shape, you can tie on one end or the other to get a different action out most baits. I really only use these for topwater baits like the Dog-X, Gunfish, and Kicknocker but I have also caught fish just tying straight to the bait. So to be honest, I am undecided as to which works best. I haven't lost baits or fish but I couldn't tell if it has made any difference in the amount of bites I have been getting.
  24. I have two, the 6.3:1 and the 7.1:1 and I also have the Daemos. I use the 6.3 for deep diving crankbaits and the 7.1 for medium to heavy Texas Rigged plastic. The 6.3 will be fine for chattebaits but the Daemos, to me, maxes out at a 3/8oz bladed jig and something like a Keitech trailer. You might be able to get away with a 1/2oz and a lighter trailer but it really starts to bend at the tip when you get near 3/4oz total weight. Fun rod though. You do have to hit them hard with it as it is pretty soft. Enjoy.
  25. It worked out just fine. It's been a kind of do all rod for me. I've thrown everything from a 5in Senko to 6in Magdraft on it. It's not particularly fantastic at any one technique but does great on a variety of things. My only complaint is that the handle might be a bit slick.
