  1. Personally I think the Curado is too wide for frogging. I would recommend a Chronarch, as it is much more ergonomic, and still has brass gears unlike the Metanium.
  2. I fish 1/10 and it seems pretty versatile for all depths of water. The Ned is definitely not my favorite way to fish, as I dislike spinning gear, but it will catch fish when nothing else will.
  3. I would go Curado K in the 6 speed. Very powerful under load, which is especially important for cranking.
  4. I have never been checked, but always carry mine anyway ( I keep it in my wallet).
  5. Though about it some more, and am probably going to get a Levante Jerkbait special. Do you guys think I could put Chronarch on that rod and throw ned rigs?
  6. They seem to be out of the Patriot rods in the last couple BPS I have been to.
  7. The Lews hank Parker Speed stick can be tough to beat at $40.
  8. It's a Curado DC with a different paint job for the Australian market.
  9. Agree that the Chronarch is way nicer then a few SLX's. The first time I cast mine with decent fluoro and KVD Line and Lure , I realized why tackletour was in love with that reel. The line comes off the spool so easily and so smoothly.
  10. IMO the 703 is a treble hook rod, it is way too soft for t rigs. It is basically a medium, mod fast. the 4 power dobyns would be a better choice for those baits. I would recommend the 704 or 734 in the sierra line if you can afford it. The sierra is much more crisp then the fury.
  11. Which 6'10'' are you using exactly? Is it a shimano?
  12. So I am becoming quite intrigued by the Legend Extreme 70MF. I would be used for small plastics, potentially topwater and some traps. I am moving soon and need to consolidate my stuff, and would like to have a couple high-end versatile combos rather than a bunch of mid range, super technique specific ones. I would pair it with a Chronarch MGL HG. The grip on the stick looks like it would be super comfortable too. Plus the lifetime warranty.
  13. So it looks like the Diablo is out. I am thinking of throwing the Legend Extreme 7MF and GLX MBR 842 into the discussion, with the megabass jerkbait rods and adrena M+. It would be nice to use the rod for traps as well, so I am curious about the legend extreme as that taper might be the most versatile.
  14. I'd try to handle both of these rods in store. I was interested in buying an Avid at one point, but after handling one at BPS I changed my mind. It was very tip heavy.
  15. I know its a little out of that price range and harder to get a hold of, but you might want to check out the 72MH Expride. I've only used it a couple times but it's amazing so far. It can handle a 1/8 texas rig.
  16. Diawa Legalis or Revros can be had at around $50.
  17. Thanks for the input. I am tempted to just get a jdm met or another chronarch rather than a scopion 70 for only $50-$100 more. The Yen seems to be getting stronger, which is bad for anything JDM. I feel like I need to go to a shop and find a 70 to handle.
  18. I am leaning towards the 70 platform. I much prefer the black and red of the scorpion to the silver curado, but the curado comes with a U.S. warranty. What do you guys think? The scorpion just looks so sick lol
  19. I've never really considered an aldebaren. I handled one in a store one and it felt way too hollow, much like a toy. Also, it becomes much more difficult to get a balanced combo with such a light reel.
