  1. Personally I only trust dedicated retailers to ship rods. I would never buy a rod from amazon or something. I also feel that a rod rated to 2 ounces is a bit more then I would like.
  2. From the reel seat? That happens to me with the originals.
  3. Meaning the 71H or the 76MH you have?
  4. I am talking about the regular tatula rods with the full cork handles. The base tatula model.
  5. Looking at the 71H to throw Frogs. Does anyone have experience with this model, or the rods in general? I know they are probably the best rods in their price range, but I have heard they are very stiff. Could this model cast 1/2 oz frog well?
  6. scorpion by far on looks alone. They are the same reel though except for the scorpion has JDM bearings.
  7. I'd go with a 2019 levante over either of them. The Zodias and e6X are both quite tip heavy.
  8. That’s really light. I’ve never held the 72ML or the 852, but perhaps the expride feels better due to balance.
  9. 4.4 oz for the 72MH and 4.9 oz for the 72MH glass.
  10. Do you have that rod? I have other exprides which I really like.
  11. I agree that spinning gear is more effective, but is is also less fun.
  12. IPT is only 26’ on the 7.2, but it looks like it would throw Ned’s very well. The orange would look cool with the DX rods. Have you ever used the original pixy?
  13. Is that basically a modern pixy?
  14. Do you think that a scorpion 70 could work?
  15. Fair enough. $487 on digitaka, about the same as the steez SV. Sounds like the steez CT would be the better choice for this application. Have you thrown ned rigs with that combo?
  16. I've hear.d the steez CT is basically the same as the SV, and the it isn't worth the $700. It is under $500 on digitaka though. The casting gear is just more fun, hard to describe but you seem to understand! The DX702 and 742 are also options.
  17. I like shimano and okuma, but dobyns also has some good offerings. I also have a kistler and Megabass, but I haven't used them that much, so the jury is still out on those.
  18. It is a sweet looking reel for sure. I don’t really like the handle on the 70 platform though, personally.
  19. The K does not handle light weights well.
  20. Another option would be the expride 72ML casting rod.
  21. Assuming you don’t like it because if the guides?
  22. Fair enough. What Phoenix do you have? You might also look at an expride 610ml. That would be a huge step up from the Sierra.
  23. They also make that in a micro guide version. For what it’s worth, my 692 is a little more tip heavy then I prefer, in my opinion because the guides are massive. A good blank either way though.
