KVD moving to Lew's
I never understood why he was with quantum for so long, but honestly, this isn't going to make me buy any lews products.

Have you seen this reel yet?
I don't use graphite framed reels-they feel cheap in and hollow in my hands. I actually prefer the solidity of aluminum over carbon composite/magnesium reels, which can have a hollow feeling as well, but not a cheap feeling.

Expride 7 Medium Glass
Got it in today-awesome! Feels in between a medium and a medium heavy to me. Hookup ratio was much better then the 72MHG, and the rod is much more balanced. The 72MHG still has a place in my arsenal for swim jigs and buzzbaits, but for chatterbaits the 7M is a much better stick in my hands.

Daiwa Tatula Bass Spinning Rod 7' M/F
Can't speak to that model, but I do have the 71HF. Balance is good, but the tip is too stiff for my liking. The Tatulas are great rods, especially for the price, but they are know for being a little stiff in the tip.

Expride 7 Medium Glass
As someone who has owned both champion xp and Expride, I definitely prefer the expride. I've been using the 72MH Glass for chatterbaits, but in the ponds I fish, I get a lot of strikes 10-15 feet from shore, and in those cases I have been missing a lot of strikes, which makes me believe a rod with similar action, but softer in the tip would be ideal. So I am looking at the Expride 7 Medium Glass. The 736CB would be too similar to what I already have.

Expride 7 Medium Glass
Does anyone have expereince with this rod? I have the 72MHG, but it feels a little too stiff at times for chatterbaits. Found this video of a shimano prostaffer who uses that rod in the zodias line for chatterbaits.

Kistler Helium 3 Heavy
I know, I was just offering the only experience I have with the H3.

Kistler Helium 3 Heavy
IMO the balance of my 73LMH is not very good.

Okuma TCS/Curado K - Spinnerbaits Expride/Curado DC - chatterbaits, buzzbaits, lipless cranks Expride/Chronarch MGL - Texas rigs 13 Inception / *** - Frogs, Jigs other setups don't really get used much, if I'm being honest.

Best 250$ spinning rod
Personally I think you can do better then dobyns and kistler at that price point, and I have owned both champion and H3. Megabass makes a 74 spinning rod in the Orochi lineup, the enforcer. There is a a 7MH moderate zodias spinning rod which could suit your needs well too. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewmegabass18orochixxenforcer.html

Catching wipers.
Got kicked out of a golf course pond I had been fishing recently, and on the recommendations of some locals, I went to a different pond around prime time in the evening. I saw some activity on the surface about 30 or so yards from shore, so I casted by war eagle spinnerbait in that repeatedly. Hooked into something that I initially felt was way too big to be a bass, and when I got it to shore I realized it was a "wiper", which weighed in at 4 lb even. I don't know if it was just luck or what, but I will definitely go back there tonight/tomorrow. I have heard that these fish school up, and to watch for birds and surface activity, but what lures/times of day are best for chasing these fish? My instict tells me that moving baits like spinnerbait, lipless, chattebait, walking bait would be best, in the evening. The water is very muddy there, no more then 6-8 inches of visibility at the most.

Megabass F5-75
I am resurrecting this thread a bit too, lol. Have you used the rod more this summer?

difference between Tatula CT and TAT. CT type R
Very true, and something that newer anglers first getting into buying gear don’t realize, including me before I tried a decent rod.

Recommend me a Spinning Reel Rod to pair with Stradic CI4+
Expride! It’s a shimano rod too, so all matchy matchy.

Which would be better for lipless crankbaits?
I like to throw lipless on the same rod that I would throw a buzzbait/chatterbait. 7-73MH MF, 14 pound mono. I like the BPS Bionic Blade 7MH and the Expride 72MH glass.

New Stradic FL
Looked it up, seems like an awesome reel.

New Stradic FL
Not familiar with the vanquish.

New Stradic FL
I completely agree with you regards to the ci4 feeling. I feel the same way about the aldebaren as well.

New Stradic FL
Have you used the ci4?

New Stradic FL
How does it compare to the older FK?

Casting Rod $50-100
Berkeley lightning rod at $40 is surprisingly good. The regular one, not the shock series. Dobyns colt is nice as well.

New Stradic FL
Sterling silver tatula?

New Stradic FL
What have you been using?

New Stradic FL
FK was more solid than ci4 IMO. Somewhat unrelated, but do you guys think there will be a new Met next year?

Shimano Expride A Casting Rod 7'2" Med Lt+
I was starting to not like cork, but perhaps I should give this a try.
