  1. I have lost a lot of money selling lower end equipment I diddn't end up using/liking over the last year. Not willing to do it again. With that in mind, the ZOLO is probably a better option for the versitility.
  2. That thing is tiny! Have you casted it around yet?
  3. Personally I find most rods I have handled $200 or less are still quite tip heavy if either over 7 feet or at least medium heavy, and certainly if both. A what price point does balance start to get better? My SA 692 is quite tip heavy even though dobyns are revered for there balance. I have a champion 734FH on the way so I am hoping for more on that one. I have handled st. croix avid x and hated them from an ergonomics standpoint. What about Megabass Orochi XX? Kistler helium 3?
  4. I just can't bring myself to do that, as I am in love with my new chronarch MGL... Do you think it is better to invest in a few nicer setups than a bunch of decent ones? I just picked up a chronarch and champ 734 for my all-purpose medium-heavy, now I am trying to get my all purpose medium squared away.
  5. Only a few models shown on TW right now.
  6. I can't put a shimano reel on a diawa rod lol. Maybe the dx703 would be a good compromise?
  7. For fishing senkos and all around pond fishing, which would be the better bet? -DX 743 -XX EMTF -ALX zolo dream
  8. Chronarch MGL. Do you have shimano reels to compare them to? In BPS they feel very compact and smooth.
  9. Was inspired to go to a local pond today after watching the classic but sadly it was still ice :(.
  10. How can I be sure i am getting an Expride A vs the older model? So of the listings ship out from japan.
  11. Theres no way scott would fish with those
  12. IMO most setups will be tip heavy with that reel unless you get a very expensive rod.
  13. I have the 692 and it is a bit tip heavy for my liking tbh, when paired with a 7.2 ounce Diawa legalis LT. It isn't really noticeable when fishing, but the 693 or 703 will definitely be worse. Maybe look at the micro guide sierra for slightly better balance? Overall it is a sensitive rod with good build quality, especially for the sale price I paid.
  14. I have 2 TCS rods. The 691MH and the 701H, The 691 is an awesome spinnerbait rod(3/8 is what I exclusivesly throw), but my 701H broke and now the insert has fallen off the top guide on the replacement. They are good rods though. Much nicer than a dobyns fury IMO.
  15. I'm not sure that the favorite gear is worse. He is fishing with the higher end stuff in the 200-250 range like the big sexy and rush rods. He has also been using Metaniums, although he is not sponsored by Shimano.
  16. Anyone know if a new Curado 70K is coming this year?
  17. I agree on SC, I just sent back a Bass X due to its horrible balance.
  18. +1 I f you wait for a sale you could get he dobyns sierra under 150, which is a much better rod than the fury
  19. Do you mean the new tatula? I had the 72 mh OG and thought it was a bit tip heavy.
