Pinewood Derby Cars
Totally agree! I'm not sure i want my son running the band saw but I do ask him what design he wants and I'll sketch some drawings on paper or even on the wood and ask him what he likes, what he doesn't like or wants to add and I'll keep drawing until it looks like what he envisions and we'll cut it out and sand and paint it. He's only 8 so I'm not going to let him run power tools yet but he can sand/paint the cars. Above all else, i tell him this is his car, his design and it's up to him after it's cut out to make it look like what he wants it to.

Squarebill crankbaits getting snagged
I would also try one of the new 6th Sense Movement 80x...they are very shallow divers only 1 - 3ft. and the people who have them love them, haven't heard anything negative about them yet (except possibly their cost at $8 each).

Hypothetical Time
I know i could always buy more tackle but man, i still have sime lures i got from Christmas 2017 still unopened in their package...lol. I think a couple new reels are in my future ?

Hypothetical Time
Only the Smoke and the PQ2 would be available for that. darn you So you're basically saying you'd take the SLX over the Smoke?
-
Hypothetical Time
In-store for the BPS deal as you have to trade in a reel towards the Smoke to get it down to the $104 price.

Hypothetical Time
Okay, this is a hypothetical question about which 2 of the following 4 reels you'd get. I have about $150 to spend on 2 new reels. The first pair is a Shimano SLX and a Daiwa Fuego CT (or you could replace this with the Revo X) and the next pair is the Quantum Smoke S3 KVD Edition (on sale for $130 at BPS and then with reel trade in gets it down to $104) and the BPS Pro Qualifier 2 Limited Edition. Which pair would you choose and why? I'm not able to mix and match these pairs as each pair adds up to $150 and mixing them up would likely put me over.

Pinewood Derby Cars
Thanks, we have done that too along with filing down the axles with fine grit sandpaper so there's no burs.

Pinewood Derby Cars
Hi all, My son is in Cub Scouts and it's Pinewood Derby time! I finally got sick of using coping saws and other various hand tools to try and make his cars and found a really nice condition used band saw I picked up for $45...super excited to use this and be able to do more detailed cars than traditional wedge shape. Any how, does anybody know where I can get cheap tungsten car weights? I don't want to spend like $25+ on a $5 car . Also, any tips and tricks you may have to help us win our race would be very much appreciated!!!

Green Curado E5 7.0:1 RH
Yeah, I would offer the guy $60 for it...if he doesn't accept that I'll pass. I won't pay the price i could get a brand new Curado K for!

Green Curado E5 7.0:1 RH
I thought I read where they came in a 7.0 and a 5.3 version? Also, any idea when the last year they were sold was?
-
Green Curado E5 7.0:1 RH
The guy who has them said they are currently on his tournament rods.
-
Green Curado E5 7.0:1 RH
What would the above reel be worth if it's a 9/10 condition? I'm looking at one a guy has for sale but he asked me to give him a figure and I don't know what i should throw at him. I'm hesitant buying older tech too...is it worth it?

6th Sense Crankbaits
I would definitely check out the 80x and Curve 55 then...those are tournament winners. I don't think there's a better looking crank bait on the market than 6th Sense, their paint jobs are 2nd to none IMO.

6th Sense Crankbaits
Are you looking for the deep divers? If you're looking for shallow or mid-depth divers I would suggest the Movement 80x for shallow and the Curve 55 for mid-depth. Just my .02.

Profound Crankbaits
Not helpful...some people are on a budget and want to be sure the lure is not junk and a waste of money before they spend their hard earned cash. OP, I have no experience with these lures but I'm sure someone will chime in soon...good luck!

Braided Line Cutter
The BEST braid cutters I've ever seen, just like you said...requires no tension on the line and they cut braid like butter. I didn't believe the hype at first but i decided to try a pair and boy am I glad I did...they are amazing!!!

Start watching for the Walmart clearance sales! I know last year it was in February that we got most of our clearance fishing stuff at Walmart so if they haven't started yet they should be starting soon.

This sale used to be the preeminent sale of the new season...back when they had blockbuster deals on the name brand stuff that was popular and people wanted. Now, it's a shell of it's former glory with BPS HEAVILY pushing their "house brand" merchandise which IMO is 50/50 at best. It's a real shame and it just seems to be getting worse and worse each year. Pretty soon it'll just become the BPS Spring Fishing House Brand Classic Sale...smh!!!

The one thing that has my interest is the Slide Box Anchor, size small. It's on sale for $129.99 and with the 30% off that brings it down to $90...that is by far the cheapest price I've seen on that anchor anywhere.
