  1. It is a little bigger but only dives 1 - 3ft. From what everyone says it's a fish catching machine!
  2. I've heard LOT'S of good things about the 6th Sense Movement 80X.
  3. I would go with the Lowrance Fish Hunter Pro 3D. I've seen one in person and to me it looks like a better made unit than the Deeper Pro.
  4. I find most of my topwater success in the Fall after the water gets below 60 degrees. That doesn't mean I don't throw topwater lures in the Spring or Summer, I do, it just seems I catch more fish on a topwater in the Fall where I live up North ;).
  5. I think posts like this should be made a "sticky" by the mods. Not that I have a problem commenting on these "seasonal best lure" posts but it might be more convenient for users to have a sticky above for Best Lures for Spring, Best Lures for Summer etc., etc. and that way it might reduce some clutter in the regular message board. With that being said, Fall always means topwater season where I live. I like the Whopper Plopper, poppers, walking baits (spooks, pencils etc.) and also shallow crankbaits.
  6. Great! I think I'll try the 6'6" M/F rod with my Lews 6.4:1 reel and put on my Kastking White Max reel on my crankbait rod.
  7. Well, I do have a 7' MH/F Lightning Rod Shock, 6'6" MH/F Lightning Rod Shock and a 6'6" M/F Lightning Rod Shock that I could use for jerkbaits if one of those would be better?
  8. The rod is a 7ft. M/M Abu Garcia Veritas Winch 2.0.
  9. None as of yet but to be honest i haven't fished it a lot so i don't have as much confidence in it as say my Whopper Ploppers which i have had decent success with. Hoping I will have success this Fall and my confidence will grow!!!
  10. That's like asking why is the sun bright...because it is...lol. There will always be haters no matter what the product is, you will never be able to please everybody so just put out the best product you can and let the haters hate ;).
  11. So does this mean you already have a Curado DC? If so, how do you like it? Dicks Sporting Goods has an extra 25% off on fishing clearance rods and reels (i.e.-Shimano Exage which is normally $99.99 is marked down to $79.99 and now you get an extra 25% off that price so it brings it down to $59.99 shipped), the only catch is the model selection is limited on most items.
  12. If you were using a crankbait rod for both crankbaits and jerkbaits what line would you use? I was initially thinking something like a 10lb fluorocarbon but after watching @Glenn's video on line selection I'm starting to wonder if the Berkley Fireline Ultra might be a better choice but not sure what pound test to go with (maybe stick to 10lb)?
  13. Mine haven't been bent yet.
  14. Yeah, I noticed that too...hoping a little later on they will have another 20% off sitewide coupon code!
  15. Then you really don't want me to tell you about the blowout deals at http://www.tacklesupplydepot.com...right?
  16. Check the 70% off section, that's where to find them!
  17. Outlet Bait & Tackle is having an End of Summer Sale and they have VMC round bend, short shank treble hooks in size #2 and #4 at 70% off so you're paying $.59 per 4pk. If you use "giftship" you should be able to get free shipping too. I just bought 15 packs of #2's and 12 packs of #4's...108 hooks total for $16.12.
  18. Me too! Hope they work as well as everyone says they do.
  19. Well, ended up going with the 6th Sense Crush Flat 75x at the last moment of the TW Labor Day sale! I got 5 in different colors: Baby Bluegill, Chartreuse w/Black Back, Boiled Craw, Chrome Treuse Shad and Supermodel (which looks to me like a Sexy Shad). Hopefully I made a wise choice and hopefully they'll catch me some nice Fall bass. I still have the Spro Little John MD's on my radar though...maybe a Christmas gift idea .
  20. Have any of you guys who have this bait had issues with the bills breaking easily on them? Looking at the reviews on TW many of them have had issues with this and some say they actually broke in their tackle box without even being fished. Just want to make sure cuz if durability is an issue I may go with the Spro Little John MD.
  21. Okay, I'm really looking hard at some new flat side cranks (specifically either the 6th Sense Flat 75x or the Spro Little John) with these Labor Day sales going on but I'm hesitating because I'm not sure while pretty sweet lookin' if they're even necessary since I do have a few jerkbaits and several X-Rap XR10 slashbaits for cooler Fall weather. I know necessity is one of the most gray areas in fishing but if getting flat sides would be bordering on redundant with a decent supply of jerkbaits/slashbaits on hand already then i might switch gears a bit and look at something else. Thoughts anyone???
  22. Life's priorities suck don't they...lol.
  23. I called a local tackle shop in the area and unfortunately that far up the river where we'll be there is only trout...rainbow, brown and brookie's :(.
