For under $200 I think it'd be very hard to beat Powell's max 3d rod for $160. They're light and balance decent. Very sensitive rod with the xf/f actions. I just got 2 dobyns champions and really like them but those are $250.

2500 or 3000 (shimano sizes). I'd say 3000. Only difference between the two is spool size and the handle shape. I believe its the same other than that. So for the extra line pick up I'd go 3000.

I'd guess if you waited you could get 25% off combined. So an extra 5%. Listen to bigbill! If you want soft plastics they're 30% off at bizzbaits. That's probably cheaper than you're ever going to find soft plastics.

This was my first year fishing local tournaments with side imaging. The 2 years prior I did not have it and it is crazy how much it helps. You won't realize how nice it is until you have it. Then you'll never want to fish without it.

A couple hours later and $500 later I have 1 of the 3 orders done. Now I still need my plastics and jigs. Im happy now but once I see the bank account it might hurt... Then my packages of goodies will get here and I'll feel awesome again!

Hmmm interesting.. I never thought about the 742. Does it make a good drop shot rod? Is it a little stiffer than the 702?

I suppose its just like any other rod thread... I already have a nice fully dedicated drop shot rod but to be honest that's about really all I fish on a spinning rod so a second drop shot rod I guess or an all around finesse rod? I know the actions are completely different for the two but maybe something for a ahakey head or other small jigs.

I was getting it for bottom contact. Mostly as a second drop shot rod and finesse rod. Is the nrx that good?

I'm looking at the dobyns champion extreme HP 702 spinning rod but was wondering for that price if I'd be better off going with a custom rod or JDM rod (if there are nice rods of either at that price point)?
