  1. 500 to 1000 is fine. Depending on the reel and the type of grease it might freeze and be hard to turn. As for light braid, that works good but they make ice braid which I recomenned. Normally braid is going to freeze up really easily and will be hard to work with.
  2. The pack are back! Go pack go!! Defense wins championships.
  3. Awesome to hear! we have a cabin 20 mins north on Hayward and head over to spider and a few other lakes just east of spider, a cool chain of lakes, for muskies. Great fishing and scenery up there. Any pictures?
  4. As long as theres no "vs Lew's" I can just sit back and enjoy.
  5. I use green and bright... Bubblegum colored line. If I don't care about seeing my line I'll use a dark green if I want to see my line, bubblegum it is!
  6. Sweet thanks for all the help!
  7. ... Nothing more to say
  8. Awesome thanks! I'm sure its very simple. I've had the reels all apart for cleaning and I don't know the technical name I always just called it main and secondary, but my guess is just switch out the two big gears (one big, one smaller) inside the reel.
  9. 7.1:1 is better than 6.4! I'd imagine just call Lew's and order through them? Thanks for the replys
  10. I have a Lew's tourney pro left handed in 6.4:1 ratio. I really would love to change it to 8.1:1 or a High 7.x:1. Is it something I can change myself or is it something even a shop can do? And if so how much does it run? Its hard to find a 8:1 gear ratio in a left hand and I love the reel just hate the slow gear ratio.
  11. Powell max 3d??? Throw that on there! Can you get a dobyns that cheap?
  12. The only issue I have with my bb1 is the centrifugal break springs pop out but I just keep a little screwdriver and tighten the screws as needed. I tried shimano and have nothing bad to say about them but love Lew's. I'm onto 11 baitcasters from them and love them all. Bb1 casts a mile!!
  13. Ice fishing is expensive! And not nearly as fun as summer fishing. Not to mention I have to pay a good chunk of change just to store my boat all winter.
  14. Haha so you're looking for a shimano top water rod...
  15. This post should of had a pole to see the total amount of the major companies.
  16. I use a slug gun and just sit against a tree by an active deer trail. Not the fanciest set up but it works for me!
  17. Am I the first person to say Powell??
  18. Thanks for the response! I would throw them more often but I hate spinning rods, unless its for a drop shot.
  19. What others have said. I had all 4 out no problem and didn't need any painkillers. I know people who either have a more sensitive mouth or something happens, like a dry socket, heard those hurt like heck...
  20. Had mine removed and the next day I was up at 430 for a tournament. I don't see how it effects your fishin!
  21. What do you guys throw them on?
  22. Very sad. Prayers go out to his family. I really hope his daughters can continue on a good path. He sounded like a good guy, and a good father.
