Fishing After Wisdom Tooth Extraction?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to fish 2-4 days after removing wisdom teeth? lol

Never used my wisdom teeth to catch a fish.

I did an overnight catfish trip the day after having all 4 removed....

You lost all your wisdom/skill to catch fish?

I don't know but if I felt ok I'd go.

Only you can answer that.  If all goes well, you probably can.  If you get a dry socket, I doubt it unless you have an extremely high threshold for pain.

I was marching & performing rifle drills on the grinder @ San Diego while in Basic training, 15 hours after 4 were beat out of my head..

I think you will be fine.

I had a fine Navy dentist "extract" all four of mine at once, too.  Sweet... as was the dry socket I suffered from later on.  =:-0

I don't think it would be any risk going fishing a couple of days after the procedure, especially if it was done by a real dentist!

Tight lines,

As already stated, it depends on you and your teeth. I had mine removed a long time ago. The last two did not want to be removed and I spent several days doing nothing but whining, sniveling and growling at my wife. Fishing was not an option. Good luck.

Had mine removed and the next day I was up at 430 for a tournament. I don't see how it effects your fishin!

If it makes u feel better, went fishing about an hour after a colposcopy, let's just say I had to chum a little

X2

If you do go while on pain killers.....be extra careful.....and hopefully you will have someone else with you...driving the boat and or truck.

Vicodin is your friend, well mine at least.

Yep. I spent almost a week taking serious narcotics before I felt like I might live.

As you can see, some people have little problem with this. Two of my teeth came out easily. I could have fished later that day. You may be able to fish a day or two after, but I would not count on it based on my experience. Fishing while under the influence, while sick and in pain is not my idea of a good time.

What others have said. I had all 4 out no problem and didn't need any painkillers. I know people who either have a more sensitive mouth or something happens, like a dry socket, heard those hurt like heck...

I had all 4 of mine pulled and went to work the next day.

If you are the dentist you could probably go the same day!

If you think you are going to feel like it go ahead.

I threw up blood for 12 hours after mine. Your mileage may vary.

Also, metal.

It's pretty clear from the responses that it's going to depend on the person. I had mine taken out at two times and my procedure must have went well. With the first ones I took pain meds for the rest of the day and didn't have another one after that. The second set I never even took one. I know of many others who held onto their pill bottles with the grip of death because they couldn't go without it. Hopefully yours goes well, and if it does you'll be back to fishing in no time!

I torn medial collateral ligament while fishing stayed 3 more days!

I fish now with 3 ruptured discs & multiple torn lugaments in my lower back.

Ya want pain try kidney stones! ;)

I got my wisdom teeth taken out when I was in the Army, sent me back to training as soon as they got me to stop bleeding. Im sure that you should be fine, just take it east with the painkillers.

I had one pulled about 10 years ago. In the dead of winter, during a brutal single digit to sub zero cold snap.....I was warned by the dentist to NOT go out and work for a few days in those conditions. I took one day off after the pull...................I should have took the rest of the week off. The dry socket is no picnic.

I was at a college party with all my buddys the same day. And was feeling no pain.

Don't cut your line with your teeth. terrible habit.
