  1. DO NOT GO CHEAP! It's truly a waste of time with baitcasters. Lew's Carbon Fire and Abu Garcia orra- both between 80 and 100 and don't stink!
  2. Agreed. If you can spot a crawdad in ten feet of water, go buy yourself a cape and use your powers for good because that'd be amazing. Just because you don't KNOW it's there doesn't mean it ISN'T.
  3. I've eaten SMB before. It wasn't bad in my opinion but I probably wouldn't eat it again.
  4. maybe try making it bigger/smaller?
  5. d**n that really sucks. Sorry to see that man. Did you buy it new?
  6. I think I got that beat!
  7. Just go with Zoom baits. Usually 3 bucks a pack and better quality IMO.
  8. Statistically, hollow body frogs have the worst hookup ratio of almost any baits. It's just hard to drive those thick hooks home, also because they are on top. Perhaps try bending out the hooks just a little and force yourself to wait a second before you set the hook when the bass blows up.
  9. Worms can be underrated sometimes, until you break 'em out and catch a lunker on one! Congrats on fifth place in your tourney too!
  10. welcome! get involved and you'll learn ALOT!
  11. Aim for any low-light areas like shade and deep water. What time of day do you usually fish?

    welcome!
  13. Just submitted my entry for today. Good luck everybody!
  14. I always go with gold in stained water, and it has worked for me! I'll generally use silver in clearer water.
  15. I'm pretty lazy, and I go direct for a lot of my lures. One situation I definitely wouldn't go direct would be crankbaits, but I don't use a leader with topwaters, jigs, spinnerbaits, or rattle traps. I probably should start though.
  16. Cranks? I'm yet to see that one!
  17. true. gotta stay light with spinning reel mono but baitcasters generally hold heavier.
  18. There's a lot of good dropshot plastics out there. You could wacky rig or nose hook a senko, use a tube, or use a dropshot-specific bait. Perhaps I can point you in the direction of a guy I'm friendly with who pours his own plastics and owns a small bait company called Samatis Bait. He's made a new dropshot bait that has some killer action. Just hit this link for a picture: http://www.mafishfinder.com/view_photo_details.php?id=49667&pid=1 Email him if you want and he can get them to you cheap and in almost any color you want. Tell him "BayStateAngler" from the MA Fishfinder forum sent you and he should give you some of the best online service you've ever had.
  19. YOU DONT' LIKE FLUOROCARBON OR BRAID??????? I think I long 20# fluoro leader with a good FG knot could solve your problem. Going direct with 20# braid could also do it, although a leader will make your worm look that much more realistic. It couldn't hurt to try.
  20. Wow, that rod is an absolute masterpiece dude!
