  1. Well, I learn something new everyday. I wouldn't have guessed that since we talk about it here all the time.
  2. Cool idea. I use almost identical Flambeau boxes for plastics.
  3. By not asking incomplete questions and following up with explanations. Ahem.
  4. I had trouble with the chigger craw arms getting stuck to each other and not swimming right. I like the rage craws quite well.
  5. I don't know what this reference is but I just can't get it out of my head. What is it?
  6. I agree the 3D brakes are super good.
  7. Depends what you're interested in. I love Texas. My wife and I even went there on our honeymoon, a week in Port Aransas by the coast and a week out at Big Bend National Park. It has about everything.
  8. Neat story! Funny how small birds always hate big ones. I've seen all manner of large birds being harassed.
  9. Congrats sir!
  10. I would tell other people about Bass Resource but BR doesn't pay me $x,000 a month for the privilege.
  11. I have both those reels myself, in those very gear ratios actually lol. They are both fantastic reels. I'm not entirely sure which I would prefer to be completely honest, I like them both so much. The Curado might have a tiny, tiny edge. Before you spend that much for them look on ebay. I got my Tatula there brand new in box for $115.
  12. I have a Minn Kota box. I'd really like it if it weren't for the fact that the positive terminal stripped out a while ago. Can't tighten the positive lead too much now. Otherwise it's a great box; had room in it for my deep cycle TM battery and a small one next to it for my sonar.
  13. A tip I head that's really working for me is using a regular old EWG worm hook for wacky rigging. I usually use 1/0 or 2/0. The idea is to prevent gut hooked fish, and it really does work.
  14. Good idea- I always keep an oar in my boat just in case.
  15. Shoot, I probably would have rounded up a $549 order. Wish I'd known.
  16. I use 6# Fluoroclear on my finesse setup and have been using it for a season or two with no complaints. It works quite well and I'm very happy with it. I have a large spool so when respooling time comes I will probably put it on again. After that, it'll be a tossup between that and 10 lb. braid (for sensitivity).
  17. Cabela's in Wheeling WV had a bin full of Lucky Craft hard baits for $6 each. I didn't *need* any really but grabbed a handful.
  18. I spent the extra money and got a Traxxis. I think if I was buying again I'd still get it. The rotate and horizontal stow feature is very useful to me with a small boat and frequently pulling up to shore in small ponds.
  19. Regarding unboxings, I enjoy some of them. Ones where they show a wide variety of lures, talk about why they chose the baits they did, why this color works good in these conditions for them, and what brands they like and their experiences with them. They can be super informative for when I go to purchase tackle myself. The ones I don't like are where it's just a ton of the same stuff, or a bunch of sponsor-sent stuff. I think this is why Kickin' their bass TV irritates me so much. They guy has everything just handed to him and doesn't appear to put much thought into what he gets and why he gets what he does. Vlogging is an interesting new art form. I think it's best thought of in that respect. It's very tricky and usually treads a thin line between "Really? you're posting a video of yourself driving, or yourself eating a sandwich, or yourself taking out trash" and interesting, informative, and artistic. Since it is that tough to get a lot of people wind up making stuff that you almost feel embarrassed watching. On the other hand Casey Neistat is an example, in my opinion, of someone who nails the vlog form. He doesn't include the extra mundane things, and each vlog has a center point or story to it.
  20. Really funny that OP complains about youtube people selling out to sponsors then says he will stick to the pros...
  21. Yep, this. I have one and have caught good fish with it.
  22. I don't have any experience with the Chronarch, but I have a Curado that I really like. That sounds like a killer combo!
  23. They work fine in my experience. It would seem logical that a one piece would be more secure than a two piece when throwing huge baits, but I don't understand the concern about it coming apart when fighting a fish. There's no lateral force pulling the rod apart, just the downward force of the fish bending it. Whereas when you're throwing a large bait out you are loading it up and then shooting it straight out. I think you'll be fine. After all, surf fishing rods (mine included) are usually two piece.
  24. This. The ponds I fish usually have a lot of bullfrogs in the summer and they can be amusing and a nuisance as well. I've caught a number of them chasing a lure and they always seem to go for the topwater frogs if they get close.
  25. Cool- I grew up in southern NJ- TD in Ocean City was where I got my first saltwater gear.
