  1. Hence the "probably"
  2. I guess it could be deceiving but there's 31 Daiwa reels available on TW, and 21 Lew's.
  3. People keep saying this but Daiwa has probably double the available models that Lews does. Works for them..
  4. Doyo is Pure Fishing's manufacturer, so Abu and Pflueger? Along with Bass Pro Shops.. and of course Lews. However, I'm fairly sure they may interchange different bearings for each brand.
  5. What pre-Curado 70 Shimano reel would you compare to the LFS platform in terms of size? The 50e? Yeah, no thanks. I thought I mentioned the part about Doyo doing the manufacturing end of Lews? Not to mention its Korea, not China. Pretty close to where the new Curado 70s are manufactured, Malaysia.. Surprising post from a "moderator"
  6. Well, I won't say stole me away because I have bought a TP since. Im just no longer exclusively Lews. The only reason I wasn't a huge shimano guy is because Lews did low-profile so much better. But now, with this 70 size available it's game on. The only thing I miss is the clicking spool tension. Both fantastic reels. I wouldn't hesitate getting reels from either manufacturer in the future.
  7. Saw that yesterday, too. I was a BIG Lew's guy up until the Curado 70. I hope they can continue to produce a decent product. I would love to see them bring some manufacturing back to America and start drifting away from Doyo. That would be a huge factor for American buyers. I've never heard of Peak Rock Capital so I hope they have good intentions and a good business plan. Fingers crossed!
  8. They look awesome! I would love to be able to do anything remotely like that.
  9. Malbec is my #1
  10. How did you get that crank out of the fishes mouth!
  11. 100% this.
  12. Versatility is a good thing. I am big on cupped bills ie. Jackall Squad Minnows, Baker JLDs and of course Trick Darters. They definitely throw the bait around a little better.
  13. It has a cupped bill and the shape is much different. The Trick Darter will swim on a slow retrieve much better. I've had a bunch of trick darters and have had great luck with them.
  14. I thought 95mm was big.. 110, that's just huge!
  15. Good rods, American made. I've had a few Bucoo Micros and they worked well but I'm not a huge fan of the MF action that is present throughout that lineup. They make quality stuff from the bottom to the top of their range. Wouldn't hesitate to buy from them.
  16. I'm in the same boat as you. Love this reel, and I was never a Shimano guy up until trying it.
  17. Just won this on eBay, think it'll match my local gills well.
  18. I have a few of the Shroomz and I must say the hooks are pretty light. I've just put the TRDs on football heads instead.
  19. I have fished mine for about 5 hours collectively on ponds, reservoirs and lakes and haven't gotten a single blow up. I've been really disappointed but it seems 99% of other anglers are having pretty good luck with it. I use a 90 in Perch.
  20. I see it the other way. Cabela's is usually a dollar cheaper than my local tackle shop on any given item. Obviously they can't compete with eBay but my local tackle stores always have a higher mark up, I would assume because of less volume. Love it there.
  21. d**n. I'm smack dab between two great Cabela's locations. It's always a bit of a spectacle to go in there. My closest BassPro is a total joke; poor inventory and store layout. I'm just hoping BassPro doesn't close my preferred Cabela's. Acquiring your biggest competitor is a nightmare for consumers. I don't know if it will truly effect us, as online pricing and convenience is the biggest threat to brick and mortar stores. I'll always support my local tackle shop, but the vast variety and awesome experience will be missed.
  22. Might want to put this in the Regional section of the forum.
  23. Not yet, I only got to throw it one time at a small pond. Might try it again tomorrow
  24. I made this using the front of a craw and a marabou jig.
