Boat cover question
My question is, would you buy a boat cover made for the boat you own or would you take a generic boat cover? My asking is because I own a bass Pro tracker 175 DMX. I’ve been thinking on getting the custom boat cover but that is pricey. For my birthday I got $200 worth of Bass Pro shops, gift certificates. The BPS boat cover is less pricey, but does have a four year warranty on it. Now the custom is $470.00 BPS cover is $150.00. Of course, both of these covers are sold at BPS, but I’m just thinking on which one I should get, anyway all your suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

First time catching a…
So there I was bass fishing Sunday, and what do you think I caught? Not a bass which I at first thought I caught. But a Pike, at first I thought “oh great a mud fish” (that would have sucked big time) but as I was getting the “mud fish” out I noticed wow what big teeth this “mud fish” has. Being that I’m from Florida I Had to look up what kind of fish it was on google, never seen one before. And sure enough it was a Pike, my first one. Anyway enjoy your day and happy fishing.

100% Fluorocarbon Question
I went to bass pro shop with a purpose today of buying 20lb fluorocarbon for my jig rod, (told the wife that was all I was getting and got the green light to go?) earlier this week I had a major tangle that turn into a nasty knot. Anyway there I was in the line department checking out all the fluorocarbon line that they had. To my surprise, there was a number of pricing differences between the companies. I settled for Bass Pro Shops Premium Excel 100% Fluorocarbon which was only $9.99, all the other Brands were $10 to $20 more. Anyway, my question: Is not all fluorocarbon the same? I look forward to your responses. Have a blessed day. p.s. I did buy a few more items but had to be careful because my wife and her friend was there too. But I got caught just the same…Lol

GMan rod locker hack…
So I watched the G-man boat video that Glenn has posted, which was very informative. Thanks Glenn. One thing that I found interesting was concerning the rod locker storage, and how he took out the organizer to put in more rods. How many of you guys have done this? it does make sense. I find them to get in the way more than anything else but have not taken them out. But I’m now thinking about it. Anyway, look forward to reading your comments. Have a blessed day.

I have a rod/reel question…
I was just wondering if I might have too many rods/reels? I have 1 spinning and 9 baitcast rods and reels, all rigged differently. The reason I ask such a foolish question by some is because I don’t fish tournaments. I know some may be thinking have I gone mad? Is it wrong to think of getting more? I don’t belong to a club and again I don’t do tournaments. So please keep this in mind when you think I am crazy and give me the “what kind of stupid question is that, to many rods.” Anyway have a blessed day

I accidentally had a learning day on the water.
OK upon further review, the reels break system is what I have taken off Max or 8 or 9 and put on 1-3. What a difference it has made.

When to change colors
Today, as I was fishing, I switched over to a suspended jerk bait. As I was fishing this particular jerk bait I was thinking that since I was not having any luck with it, should I switch colors? My question to y’all is, when do you know when to change colors of a particular bait that you are using? I’m not talking about because the water is clear or cloudy, I’m talking about a color that just is not working. Does that make any sense? Anyway, thanks for the replies. Have a blessed day.

I accidentally had a learning day on the water.
So I went fishing today, nobody was on the water I was just farting round Messing with my reel when not knowing I accidentally put the spool on free spin. And instead of doing my customary overhand cast, I just did a side cast. And to my amazement, my lure went further than my customary overhead cast would normally go. Needless to say, I was amazed I didn’t have a major back lash and how far the lure went. I did have some minor back lash, I’m not a pro at the free spinning spool yet but I will continue to keep the spool in Freeform. I will say I need to work on my aim and to stay out of the trees. Have a bless day

Night time fishfinder question
So as I start my night fishing adventures that I have previously posted. I have a question about the nighttime fishfinder screen. Should there be a setting where the screen goes to night time where it’s not so bright on your eyes so you can see better at night? Does this question make sense? If not, any suggestions for using your fishfinder to locate Bass?

Went Night Fishing
I must say getting my wife to go fishing with me is not hard at all, she loves the water but hates fishing. She might fish for about 10 to 15 minutes, if that. She also says she knows how much I love to fish and likes to spend that time together. So when we go to big lakes like Hartwell or Murray I will stop fishing and find a small island that has a little beach and we’ll go swimming and cool off, she loves that and quite frankly it took me a while to get used to it. But when it all comes down to it, it’s worth it for me to do that. I love it when she with me. The one problem about night fishing at the closest lake to me closes at 12 midnight so it’s hard to get in a real good groove.

Went Night Fishing
So I went night fishing for the first time in my boat I brought My Wife with me because she loves the water, I didn’t get the fish as long as I wanted but it was OK. It didn’t turn out so good. Didn’t catch anything which is ok, what got me real aggravating was when I went to make my first cast with my worm rod, I got a major major rat nest. And when it was time to go I couldn’t get the boat loaded properly. That being said I can’t wait for my next night fishing adventure. Hope you guys have a good one and always have tight lines.

Blue water LED lights question
I was thinking of red deck lights and some lights for the storage. It’s something to think about that’s for sure.

Blue water LED lights question
I was supposed to go night fishing last night But I had to cancel at the last minute. But I have been looking into getting the Bluewater LED lights for my boat because night fishing does intrigue me. I have a bass pro tracker 175 Twx and I was just wondering should I get some LEDs for it. So I was just wondering if anybody has their Boats lighted up with led lights? And if it’s even worth it?Thanks for all the input have a blessed day.

Great read A-Jay on night bassing
So my friend wants me to take him crappie fishing at night this Saturday night. I said fine but I’ll fish for bass, I’m not interested in crappie fishing (not to offend those who like crappie fishing just not my thing). Anyway I haven’t fish at night in a boat and was doing a little research and I knew BassResource was one place I needed to go because Glen has great videos on pretty much everything about bass fishing. The first thing I see on general forums is A-Jays post on night fishing, thanks A-Jay for a great and helpful post on night fishing. Anyway, now time to see what I can learn from Glens videos on night fishing too. Have a blessed day and always happy bass fishing everyone. ???

fastest boat you've ever seen
Fastest boat I was ever on with a bullet bass boat back in the 90s we were in a tournament and the driver of the boat looked at me and said how does it feel to go 90 miles an hour I look backed and said good. He had put on a racing motor apparently anyway that’s my story.

Lew's Rod 7' Med. Hvy. Casting Rod
I have 2 KVD reels and I love them, I have a few different Lews reels and I can’t say anything bad about them. I also have a number of Lews rods. Eventually I will change all my rods to Lews. I must say you won’t be disappointed.

My Big Bass Tournament experience
Not sure if this goes here or not but thought I would let you know how I did. I enter the Lews & Strike King Big Bass Tournament which was today on Lake Murray SC. I started later then I wanted to but that’s ok. I had my Lake Murray map (that I just got at Palmetto State Armory) the day before and off I went to my first place to fish. I was doing ok had a hit on my top water lure, I fished a little long and left to my next place. This should tell me what kind of day it was going to be, I looked down to get the map and it was gone, no where to be seen. Not to drag this out any longer, All I caught today was a turtle, 8 hours of fishing and I only catch a turtle. This was not a good confidence builder today. I need to learn more about fishing points. Anyway come to think about it, I need to learn a whole lot more that is fore sure.
