I have discovered my MAGIC BAIT
I really like the beavers too...first time I used them was when I saw a nice bedding bass...I tossed everything at it including the kitchen sink. I was digging through my tackle bag and came upon *** 187 deal and I saw one of those hogs...tied a black/blue with 1/8oz and hopped it right by. Slam.

killing/bleeding fish
How do ya kill the fish before fileting? or are they still kicking when you do it?

NOT HAPPY AT ALL W/ MY KISTLER MAGNESIUM !
Not everyone can have more than 1 rod and reel...I personally use a 6'6" m f to fish everything except cranks, not the ideal but it works for me

mono to braid knot?
I like to use the Improved Albright also know as the Alberto knot...tried and true for me, i've gotten snagged on countless pieces of structure and when I need to pull it free my terminal knot always fails before the leader knot.

Solution to Large Weighted Swimbait Hook Supply
Thanks for sharing this tip! I've been doing this for a while also but I never thought to post it (not cause I want to keep this on the down low, it just never occurred to me!) What's great about this is that you don't have to shove the nose of your swimbait past the bulge of the weight on those pre-weighted hooks! save the lure from that extra stretch and possible tearing

Beaverdam Creek Reservoir - VA
Yea, I've found that the way you look makes a big difference...there are some ponds here in richmond near a nice office park. These ponds are surrounded by tech companies and I was asked to leave when wearing shorts and a t-shirt...when I fished one time after work (dress shirt, khaki's and dress shoes) the same guy who asked me to leave the first time walked right by me...

FISH-A-PALOOZA in NOVA
Ahh I see, didn't know there was another place. Why don't you give that other side a try? you can drive up pretty close to the water where we normally launch. The walk isn't bad either it's just lifting something over the rocks about 2-4 ft but it sounds like you had to do that over a gate anyways. With 4 people having trouble moving your boat I'm probably misjudging the size of your boat! I've only had to help carry Andrew's kayak.

FISH-A-PALOOZA in NOVA
Well, it's not exactly 100 yards...maybe 30ft...atleast where we usually launch, the main problem is getting something heavy over those darn boulders they put in the way.

Catching a bass with a snake.
wow amazing...it seems like the fish is still twitching inside the snake too...awesome...I also half expected a big toothy fish to come and take the head off the snake near the end...lol

What a gimmick!
I wonder if these carrot fibers will last ... they are organic and organic stuff decomposes over time...I wonder if they'll come out with a celery stick...I hate those fibers as they get stuck in my teeth all the time...seem pretty darn strong too!

FISH-A-PALOOZA in NOVA
Heya guys, Had alot of fun fishing out there again on "Feel the burn" didn't get to see many people though as we all launched at different times. We started off with buzzbaits with no luck and moved on to spinnerbaits. I hooked up a white/red spinner and hit one at ~1.5lbs. We then tried other baits out with no luck and I switched to a brown w/black flake coffee tube (they smell great ;D) on a 1/8oz Owner Phantom hook. For some reason I missed over 5 fish with this rig, two of decent size. We started trimming the skirt to about half it's original length because I felt like they were only grabbing the skirts. However in hindsight I'm not quite sure if this was the problem, I remember setting the hooks quite hard and would even feel them pulling after the hookset. If they had only hit the skirts wouldn't I have pulled the skirts out of their mouths? I dunno.... But anyways... We started trimming the skirts to about 50% of original length had some better luck with that. Hit a 1-10oz behind a rock in between some reeds, and later on hit a 2-6oz around rocks (I had gotten snagged in the rocks and as I popped it off the rock it hit) and toss in 2 dinks in between those guys. Andrew's got the pics so they'll be up soon!

Ebay Citica Deals on the up and up???
I think citica's were normally around that price, I bought my 2 citica's on ebay for about $100 two years ago. I think prices may go down a tad bit from people trying to stock up on them from the shimano rebate and trying to resell.

LMB memory
Just a quick chime in from a Bio major...like many have said before conditioning to a lure is very real. If a fish gets hooked up on something that rattles they probably won't bite that lure again for a while. From the genetics stand point, if a fish avoids a certain lure that avoidance will not transfer to their offspring. For an example giraffes didn't get longer necks because they kept stretching them out after each generation. They got progressively longer necks because giraffes without the long neck advantage eventually died off. Natural selection. For fish this could mean that cautious fish who don't hit baits readily (either from reaction strikes or finessing) would have a genetic advantage, while fish who strike reactively and are caught (not released) aren't able to pass on their genetic disposition to strike out of instinct leading to fish who are much more picky about their food!

Anyone pulled the trigger yet on a Skeet Revo?
looks like a bee!

berkley vanish translucent???
For me Vanish is horrible on BCers, I bet it's just me and my inexperience with fluoro on them but I kept getting deep backlashes. For fluoro I use Berkley's 100% fluoro works great on the reel and as leaders. I'm also tempted to give BPS fluoro a try after hearing some good things.

The innesbrook lakes are fillled with bream. I used a trap today there, I casted parallel to the bank and burn the lure as fast as possible back...hit five 2lb+ in about 30mins around 5pm. Dusk feeding time? it was great fun =D I have crazy fishing thumb!
