No TW Father’s Day Sale?
I believe last years 4th of July sale was 15% if you're able to wait and see if they offer it again. Some items excluded, of course. Hoping for the same this year. My wish list is getting out of control ?

Need help selecting colors and trailers!
I started playing around with different skirts and green pumpkin with chartreuse strands is really productive. I have yet to get into the Jack hammer but it resembles bhite delight. I Iike it with a green pumpkin z craw jr as a trailer. *Note that my water is full of blue gill. Shad water white/chart and a 3.8 are hard to beat. Trust your gut and good luck!

Life expectancy of hollow body frog
Well that's impressive. Are they still in the original package?! Haha, just kidding. 90 minutes of work left for the week and I needed a little chuckle. I've not played with Snag Proof. How does the newer stuff compare? I see a half dozen models... Do you have a favorite?

Life expectancy of hollow body frog
I'm curious how long you generally fish a hollow body frog before it's time to replace it? I'm fishing a pretty common hollow body frog that can be found at most outdoors retailers. I think it runs about $7. Good hook, walks well and my hook up ratio is solid. I've caught prob 20-25 fish on it (some more violent than others) and I'm noticing it's getting tore up, and taking on water more often. The hooks are still sticky sharp but I had it out earlier today and there were a few occasions where it actually went sub-surface 6-8 inches. So I'm curious... 1. How long do your frogs usually last? 2. Any repair tips or hacks? 3. What's your hollow body frog of choice for fishing on and around matted vegetation? Thanks! ?

New to Bass Fishing - Need guidance
Welcome! I agree with @greentrout that bass can be found shallow year round. I don't have any experience on your lake, but I would start with "high percentage areas" like lay downs and stumps, docks, vegetation, rocks (cover). The more you fish, the more familiar you'll become with the structure in that lake, channels, drop offs, flats, etc. If I may make one suggestion, and this requires some patience and discipline... Don't try and learn it all at once. Select one or two lures or presentations and take only those with you. The videos you watch are great ways to learn where, when and how to fish then. The key IMO is to build confidence and then expand your skill set. A finesse technique like ned rig or a drop shot are great ways to get bites, and if there are bream there are likely bass. A senko, or a Texas rig are also hard to beat. Thanks for listening, and good luck!!

Curado 200k side plate WONT LATCH!
I'm not 100% sure. If I had the side plate open the latch worked. If I had to guess it was something internal that was getting in the way of the latch, or not aligning quite right. Anytime you have such a high volume of production there are bound to be a few that have issues. Mine happened within the first 2 or 3 times I had it on the water and was deemed a factory defect. I'd suggest taking advantage of the warranty if that is still an option. You paid good money for it, you should have a reel that works properly.

Curado 200k side plate WONT LATCH!
I got the reel replaced. It was a defect. It happens and that's what warranties are there for. The replacement reel works great and I purchased another Curado after that without any issues.

Spinning Reel Suggestions
My older Shimano spinning reels still work well, but the models I have are equipped with the quick fire trigger and it drives me absolutely crazy. I have certainly considered the Ci4+ but much like my casting reels, that will surely take me to the point of no return!

Spinning Reel Suggestions
It's been quite a few years since I've bought a spinning reel. When I got into casting gear the spinning rods took a back seat, and when I needed them what I have was "good enough to get by". Now, I'm finding myself in more situations where it is a necessary tool. I'm looking for something durable that won't wear me out if it's in my hand all day. It will be a braid to fluoro leader set up. I'm putting most of my budget into the rod so let's say $100 max for the reel. Suggestions?

Lose one...buy two to replace it.
Ah, yes. I swear by the green pumpkin green and purple. Luckily it's still available in the 4" for $2.86 at my local Wally world. I saw the power bait pit boss is on clearance on TW. Kind of surprised since they've haven't been out for too long.

Jig Alternative
I've got bobber stops, flipping weights, hooks and skirts but the missing link would be the hub (I believe that's what it's called). Has anyone tried to use beads above/below the skirt as an alternative with any success, or failure?

Lake Erie Smallmouth?
Not sure if this is in response to my comment, but I missed the part about the kayak. I'll be on a boat. Sorry for any confusion!

Lose one...buy two to replace it.
Buy it while you can find it. They will either discontinue it, or screw it up trying to make it "better".

Lake Erie Smallmouth?
Heading up to Erie for the first time this weekend. Hoping we can find some smallies in the bay at Presque Isle. Super excited. Been wanting to do this trip for a couple years now!

A Real Bass Fisherman
I'm a believer that some of the new lures and techniques work so well because it's something different the fish haven't seen before. I'll go out on a limb and assume some will be a fad, and soon forgotten, while others will stand the test of time. If you've found what works for you, then you have the best lure out there... Confidence! If you're targeting bass, and continuing to learn, you're a bass angler in my book. Period.

What would cause this...
Think about how a Whopper plopper rolls over on top of the water when the prop isn't working right. Got it? ?? The last 3 bass I have caught (all small, 1-2 lbs) have done the same thing. Makes them feel a lot bigger. I catch bass that size quite a bit without that happening, so 3 in a row got my attention. Anyway I'm on the bank making long casts and dragging plastics. 50# braid to #20 FC leader. 8.5:1 reel. 4/0 ewg with 3/8oz tungsten. Thoughts?

Shimano Exage Casting
What techniques do you feel the MH is best suited for? I was looking at both the 7'2 M and MH. All powers are not created equal ?

Shimano Exage Casting
Heard a while ago these were being phased out, I assume for the SLX. Starting to see them on clearance a lot of places and wanted to see if anyone here has used the Exage? Thoughts? Not a rod that I "need" but I'm always looking. Worth picking up, or leave it on the shelf?
