What Music Do You Listen To While Fishing?
Old Town Road full blast in the truck ? No music while fishing.

Curado K
My first Curado K actually had a defect with the side plate. These things happen in manufacturing regardless of the industry, company or product. People rarely take the time to write a positive review, but are quick to point out the negative. Don't let that sway your decision. THEY ARE SOLID REELS. I own 2 of them now and my tournament partner has a couple of his own. They are always on the deck and at the ready. P.S. I had the original reel replaced at no cost. Warranties exist for a reason, and I would highly recommend you give it a shot!

DC reel for my brother-in-law?
I think the best benefit of a DC reel is casting lighter lures, in windy conditions and skipping. I'm a big fan of the Curado K. I have both the 8.5:1 and 7.4:1. Both are work horses. I pitch with the 8 (would also throw a frog on it if needed) and the 7 is on a dedicated jig rod. To be honest both would handle either application with a small adjustment to the spool tension. I wouldn't worry so much about the "power" of the reel in applications where you are relying on the rod to move the fish. If you are set on DC I've heard great things about the SLX DC. I don't own one, but I believe they are similar in price to the Curado K. Maybe not the exact answer you were looking for, but hopefully it's useful information!

Bass fishing confessions
I have 2 wins and 2 lunkers in my brief tournament experience. Even though I rig up a rod for every possible situation (and a few for situations I will never encounter) every penny I've ever won could have been accomplished by taking one rod and a bag of the same bait.

Zoom fluke questions
I have a 7'2 MH/F that I could put some braid on. I was planning to start with a trokar tk120 for a little bit of added weight. I think the heavier rod might make more sense for that set up anyway. Thanks for the feedback @Bassjam2000

Zoom fluke questions
Flukes have arrived (along with the snow). Admittedly I throw my square bills and hard jerk baits on the same rod... A 7' M/F casting. Will this do the job for the super fluke, also? Open to suggestions, as I am considering adding a rod so I'm not trying to pull triple duty with the one I'm currently using. Thanks!

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Had to scratch that Gander itch one last time. Wasn't much left but I did find a couple War Eagle finesse spinnerbaits and a buzzbait, and a cavitron for about $10.

Does anyone remember grade school, learning about cause and effect? Well, friends... It finally makes sense to me.

Everyone's 5 rod setup
Dobyns 734C is a very versatile rod. I throw weightless senkos, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and blades jigs on it.

Plano weekender series bags
Bought one for my step dad last year and ended up picking one up for myself. Both work fine.

Rain jacket help
I enjoy reading the negative reviews for the Guidewear. 99% of them are people who feel like a "walking billboard" as seen above haha! I would have to say I'm leaning toward it since I know exactly what size I need... And yes, Gore-Tex.

Rain jacket help
So I've done a lot of research and I'm down to two... 1. Cabelas Guidewear Angler Jacket I've seen it in person and tried it on. Hard to beat Gore-Tex and I have seen it up to $100 off. 2. Aftco Hydronaut Have no experience with their rain gear but all the Aftco products I own I'm 100% satisfied with. Also the more affordable of the two at regular price.

Deep 14-20' carolina rig set ups....Lead, brass, line etc.
I stay away from braid if I'm dragging the bottom. If I'm using tungsten I use a plastic bead. A baby brush hog can be magical.

boat project cost?
If you really want to have some fun, try dealing with 2 different states and covering all your bases.

Casting Rod comparison
I am very pleased with my Falcon. They make quality rods. Can't speak for Fenwick. Haven't used their rods.

boat project cost?
This is really good info. And you are correct. The scenario has become a little sticky. The person it was last registered to in 2015 is deceased. The documentation would have to come from his executor. That is not the person I am dealing with (he is a distant relative). So, my dilemma is finding the right person and asking them to try and dig up the info, or get the appropriate documents notarized. In short, they were asking me to hook it up and haul it out; it's not that simple. I'm feeling a little bad that I have to ask them to do the extra work, mostly because I don't know them personally, and I'm not sure how sensitive of a situation it is with the owners passing. We're not giving up yet, but it might be a sign that this just wasn't meant to be. I'm ok with it either way.

Storing Zman baits (Direct response from Zman)
Does anyone know if the elaztech is safe to use on silicone skirted baits? I assume since chatterbaits were their niche before these plastics, that they are compatible, but I'm a little nervous to try it without some feedback!

Line weight
Yep. Great for detecting subtle bites, and bites that come on a slack line fall ??

Officially Depressed
Not quite 20k on this little project, but I'm sure between maintenance, motors, batteries, etc. I'll end up spending a pretty penny on this "freebie"
