Sad I don’t know...
I'm sure that's a great reel, but I think I'll stick with Shimano ?

I could take that off your hands lol.

TW Order-extra goodies
I got on board with TW when it was free ground shipping over $50 and no sales tax, so that was a big perk. They do charge sales tax now (speaking for PA) but are pretty reasonable with prices and selection. Backordered items and "item found damaged" has been my only hang up, but the customer service team is easy to reach and usually helpful. They are also good on returns. Recieved a factory defect reel and they replaced it for me quickly (they provide return shipping labels). Much better than going through the process with the manufacturer. If it's stuff you would be buying anyway, and you're strategic, you can save. In the past they have offered 10% off gift cards around Christmas. Use those during another sale (if you have the patience) and it's a bargain. That's my experience. I try to shop smart, but they probably get 80% of my business. @plawren53202 sounds like it was an oops, unless it was a promo deal. I've got sample packs of stuff before. Mustad just included one when I bought some triple grips over the holidays. Nice surprise. Hopefully the person who was supposed to get the items you received got their complete order ??

Buzz Bait Favorite??
Sorry for being such an inconvenience lol. If you're anything like me you were itching for a reason to dig into some tackle? Thanks, much appreciated.

Buzz Bait Favorite??
Is the blade/profile of the 1/4oz smaller than the 3/8, or is the weight difference solely in the head of the cavitron?

Fishing tools?
I don't know what category a lure retriever falls under, but I'm not sure it's been mentioned yet. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strikezone_Pocket_Knocker_Lure_Retriever_3pk/descpage-SZPPK.html?from=basres Works for me with pretty good success, and cheap.

Football Jig With Fluke?
You never know how many anglers are doing it, and keeping it a secret. Just because it's not "standard practice" doesn't mean it won't work. I think you proved that. Congrats on the PB. I bet a few readers on here will be testing that out this weekend ??

rod help
I'll agree with that. I have a 703C (7' MH/F) and 734C (7'3 H/F). Both will do a little bit of everything. The "Heavy" is by no means a broomstick, either. They are pretty forgiving, and a nice rod for the $$$.

The latest sale thread
I picked one up a couple years ago. I think they had the PQ2 combo for about half the retail price. I was more interested in trying the reel, but I get a ton of use out of the rod. 7' M/F.

Do a search on that site's credibility. If it's a new domain then that's a dead giveaway that it's bogus. I've seen several other sites with deals like these. https://www.cyberbunkers.com/2020/03/gogocoddycom-reviews-is-gogocoddycom.html?m=1

Your Bank Fishing PB?
7# 10oz from the bank at a private pond. Public water bank fishing 5# 6oz. My boat PB is 7# 6oz, so a few ounces lighter than my bank PB. But, that was tournament lunker and won me about $400. Solid fish for Western PA.

Help with huge cold front, I’m worried ..
They might disappear from where you were catching them, but they won't go far. Slow down and keep at it. Good opportunity to learn for next time. Not uncommon weather for spring in the northeast.

Boat buying. Help needed.
@WRB I do like the 160 Pro, but then I would also be looking at a vehicle upgrade. They have a 16' Grizzly, but it looks like the model with the trailer and livewell also comes with an outboard. Are there any makes/models in particular that come to mind that you suggest I look at? Thanks !!

Boat buying. Help needed.
Yes, not looking at setting any speed records or tear my vehicle up. The club I fish is limited to trolling motors, and otherwise I'm just wanting a vessel that will get me off the bank and have room to accommodate a buddy. A Jon boat with a casting deck, front and rear trolling motor and livewell is all I really need. But, what I'm finding is I may have to buy the basic Jon boat and do the mods myself. Still looking...

Did they get it on plane?!? Haha. And thanks for the suggestion!

1000# tow (1,500 with trailer brakes) and 150# tongue weight are manufacturers suggestion.

Boat buying. Help needed.
I've got the okay from my better half to buy a boat, but have no idea where to start. Forgive my ignorance. I'm hoping to stay at or below 1000# total weight. That would really open up my budget if I didn't have to buy another vehicle to tow. Looking for something to run shallow water on small lakes, 500 acres +/-. I fish a club that is limited to trolling motors only. Casting deck and livewell would be ideal. Haven't set a budget, yet. More research to be done before that happens. Any suggestions or recommendations are appreciated. Really just looking for where to start. Looked at manufactures websites, Craigslist, auctions, etc and it's a bit overwhelming so I thought I'd ask the folks who know best! Thanks! RT

Just pulled the trigger on a Dobyns Fury
I went the other direction from some of the folks above. I got a 734 first (as suggested by the person I talked to at Dobyns) and then got a 703. You will find them to be a very useful if you're bank fishing and don't want to carry a rod for every technique. As far as reels are concerned, my suggestion is always the same... Find a Shimano in the price range you're comfortable with. OR... Wait until BPS has a Pro Qualifier for $50. Good little reels but better options are available if you're paying full retail.

Calling Curado K owners - Lighter baits and worm gear
I own a couple of K's and an SLX XT. They feel very different in my hand and there is a noticable size difference. I really like my Ks and tend to reach for them when throwing baits with a single stout hook. I like the SLX XT for treble hook baits and non-superline style hooks. The $30 for the SVS braking is worth it for me, and so far it's held up with my Ks. If I were getting a reel specifically to throw lighter crankbaits, I would shy away from the K. But if I were prepared to spend the $180 on a K, I would take a shot at the SLX DC. Just my 2 cents.

Tips for fishing brand new suburban pond with no cover
Is it a bowl? Water flowing in/out? Assuming it was dug out, is there a dam, or obvious deeper and shallow side? They could relate to the structure or make up of the bottom rather than cover. I would grab a 3/8 or 1/2 oz green pumpkin or black/blue jig and drag it around to feel what's going on down there. Might even pick up a couple bites while investigating! Pay attention to the fall rate, too. This will help you to calculate depth.

Using Scent?
I load my tubes up with this stuff after I get them rigged. Is it overkill? Probably, but try and stop me ?
