Lower Profile Reels
Even though the Lews Custom lite SLP is a small reel, i dont think it palms as comfortably as some other reels. The palm side plate sticks out a little bit further and i notice it digging into my palm more. Other reels like the Hypermag and Pro Ti feel better in my hands. And i dont have large hands either. There are lots of nice small reels out there. I haven't tried the 13 fishing reels, but their reels look tiny in the store.

Looking for a light 2500 reel $150-$300
Never had any issues and i grip my spinning reels the same way you do. I use both shimano and daiwa reels. I find them equally as comfortable on the same rods. Maybe try it on a different rod to see if your grip changes. Looks like you have it on a P5 and the grip on that rod is very small. It took me a bit to get use to the tiny P5 grip but now I'm fine with them.

Lower Profile Reels
There has been many great reels mentioned here. I think manufacturers are making smaller and lighter reels these days. The best thing to do is go to a store a try the different reels to see which you like. Take your rod if the store allows it, so you can see how they actually fit together. Rods and reels are a very personal thing. Everyone like something different.

I’m new and have no clue what I’m doing
Next question. Spinning or baitcasting? What lures are you planning to use this new combo for? What type of water do you normally fish? How big are the normal fish you catch?

Kastking or Piscifun 1000 or 2000 size for small stream bassing?
To add to this, I'll say I have been really impressed by the Piscifun carbon x reels. Earlier this year I decided to try something other than my normal daiwa and shimano brands. I first picked up two carbon x 3000 size and a KK zephyr 3000 size. For the money they have been really good reels. I later picked up a piscifun carbon x 1000 and 500 size. Mainly for their lightweight build. I've been really impressed with those as well. In fact so impressed, I picked up several more. I now have a total of nine carbon x reels. I have the 500 on my ultralight trout and panfish combos. The 1000 size on my light bass combos. My only complaint with these smaller reels is the drag sound. Its screechy and louder than I like, but not a deal breaker. Lately, I've been using these " off brand" reels more than my shimano and daiwas. I really want to see how durable they are and if they can survive the long haul with my shimano and daiwa reels.

Tatula LT spin vs Fuego LT spin
Main difference is the Tatula LT frame is made of Zaion. The Fuego frame is a carbon graphite composite. But the Fuego does have mag seal while the Tatula does not. I believe tatula has better gears though. The Tatula should stay smoother for longer.

Spinning reels
If you want light, it would be hard to beat the daiwa Luvias or Luvius airity. I have the Luvius airity and its pretty much the same reel as the Exist LT. Daiwa states the Luvius airity is the lightest metal framed spinning reel they have ever manufactured. You can get them at digitaka for about $450. The regular Luvius is a carbon framed reel and is just as light weight. I think its about $260 at digitaka. Dont forget about the Ballistics - USD model and both JDM versions. All in the mid to upper two hundred price range. I only have a US model but really want the FW version. I also have the tatula LT, which is pretty much the same reel without magseal. Daiwa makes some good reel but so does shimano. Can't go wrong with either one.

Random catfish question
You can hold flatheads by the bottom jaw. They wont chomp down too bad on your hand. Blues and channels will bite and hold on. Especially channels. I've lost some thumb skin lately to several channels i tried to pick up by the mouth. Not a good idea.

Jerkbait rod casting or spinning?
I use both. Casting for heavier jerkbaits. Spinning for lighter jerkbaits. Also I use different hands to hold my casting and spinning rods. It keeps me from wearing out one arm. Although my combos are pretty light, jerking all day will get to you. Switching hands really helps.

Megabass P5 Destroyer Windbuster Review (AMAZING rod!)
If you drop shot with 6" plastics or larger go with the Landsat. I mainly use it for 1/8 or 3/16 oz shakey head and 6" worm. The Baby plugging is a light action rod and works better with 4" plastics or smaller. I use #6 fluro, 1/8 or 3/16 weight and 3" gulp minnow most of the time with the baby plugging.

Megabass P5 Destroyer Windbuster Review (AMAZING rod!)
I feel that the Landsat is a very versatile rod. It's a slightly heavier medium light power is the best way to describe it. With the 6'11" length, it's not too short or too long for most applications.

Megabass P5 Destroyer Windbuster Review (AMAZING rod!)
I have two Landsat and a Baby plugging. Both are a joy to fish. Like you mentioned, these rods are sensitive. But they should be for the price. I have a Exist C2500S LT on the Baby plugging and two Luvius airity FC2500S on the Landsats. Awesome combos.

Spinning reels
When it comes to spinning reels, I like Daiwa's better than shimano's. They are lighter, quieter, and function more smoothly. I have some shimano's but I have alot more daiwa spinning reels. You have a certate pictured. I dont have a certate, but I've heard they are super smooth. The only reason, I dont have one is that they are aluminum and alittle heavier than some of the other daiwa reels. High end shimano or daiwa, you can't go wrong. They are both going to be a pleasure to use.

Show off your Stuff
I just recently tried the AMO knobs too. So far I like them. They look nice. Ordered a few more sets.

Good rod for curado mgl 150
I dont see why it wouldn't work. Sounds like a pretty decent combo. Should work well for those applications minus the crankbaits. I more limber rod would work a little better for cranking but it will do in a pinch.

Bass nocking but unhooked on spinnerbait?
I always use a trailer hook on my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. There has been many times when the trailer hook was what hooked the fish.

Differences in JDM and USDM 2020 Metaniums
Yes. Both models are made in Japan.

Am I alone?
I have nine different rod racks that I use for my rods. Some stand alone and some wall mounted. Still barely enough room for my stuff.

Am I alone?
Whoah. That's a large amount of gear. I thought I had a decent arsenal. I'm interested to see how you keep it all organized.

Other Species Latest Catch Pics Thread
Looks like warmouth-bluegill/redear hybrid. Has the colors and slightly bigger mouth like a warmouth. But the body shape of a bluegill or redear. Definitely interesting.

Line for my spinning setup.
I'm not fond of braid to leader either. Most of my spinning combos have either straight mono or braid. My bottom contact spinning combos have straight fluro. To me its just more sensitive. Braid is good but not on a slack line. With fluro, you can still feel the bite. For your techniques i would go with a soft 8 lbs fluro.

Am I alone?
Can a person have too many rods or reels? That's like asking, can you have too much money. I say "no". Been a multi-species angler, i have many different combos. I have stuff for bass, crappie and panfish, trout, catfish and stripers, saltwater. You name it. Though most of my stuff is for bass. Especially my high end stuff. I like to rotate the combos out. Whatever i feel like taking on the boat that day. I like having the option of rotating and switching things up. Plus i like trying new gear. So I'm always adding to the lineup.

Alternate Trout Baits?
Dont forget powerbait. I usually use the nuggets or nibbles fished under a small float. Pretty deadly when the bite is tough. Sometimes I'll put a Berkley honey worm on there too. I'll usually start off with spinners or jerkbaits then switch to powerbait once the bite has slowed down. And rarely do they ever get gut hooked because i set the hook as soon as the float goes down.

Retro Bassin!
Pretty cool little channel. I enjoy the old stuff also.
