Luck E Strike RC Jerkbait vs Megabass Vision 110
All of mine are in the white package with the silver trim and say Suspending on the clear plastic. They also have the downward looking eyes. But on the back they say made in China. I've had them for a few years now. Can't remember when I bought them. They have the original round luck-e-strike symbol in the middle of the package behind the lure. I guess these are not the original made in the USA models, but are they still the good ones?

Poison Adrena vs Megabass Destroyer
I have had both but not at the same time. I got rid of my megabass daemos to get the 7'3 adrena. Both are awesome rods in their own way. The daemos looks more elegant while the Adrena is kind of plain. I like the cork on the daemos but the handle on the adrena is more comfortable to hold. As far as sensitivity I believe they are pretty close. I cant really say which is more sensitive because I didn't have them side by side. Weight wise, they are both very lightweight but the adrena may be a bit lighter since there's less material there. I think either rod would serve you well.

Stren VS Big Game
Interesting test. I've used BG for many years but never actually test it against another competitor. All I know is that its pretty tough and has landed many a fish. I've caught bass, catfish, stripers and different saltwater fish on it. I really dont have a reason to change. I tried stren many years ago and didn't like the memory so I never tried it again.

Daiwa Procyon LT.
Your a great friend if you're going to buy him a tatula combo. Is your friend a serious fisherman? The average person couldn't tell the difference between a $50 combo or $300 combo. If he loves fishing then get him the tatula or procyon. If he's not that serious, then a exceler or some lesser should do fine. I have two excelers and they are decent reels. I have two tatulas and of course they are way better. Personally I think the procyon is kind of ugly.

New spinning reel advice please
It shouldn't be a problem. Many older reels didn't even have any extra washers under the spool. The spool would just sit right on the spool stopper piece, which was also metal. In fact some of my older shimano spinning reels don't even have extra washers under the spools. The washers pretty much just help with correct line lay. Also different lines will lay differently on a spool. I've had to add or subtract washers when switching from mono to braid or vice versa.

Hmm, anyone got one of these?
I have use a couple of bungee cords to strap between the vehicle overhead handles. It would hold the rods but most of my rods were to long to fit like that.

1000 sized reel ultralight
Which 1000 size reel are you placing on the 5' ultra light rod. The stradic 1000 ci4+ is around 5.8 oz and should balance ok on a short rod.

LF Shimano Stradic Handle
Lately shimano is offering free shipping, which is awesome. I ordered a $3 part last week and got free shipping on it.

spool
Does bass pro shops not have a rod and reel repair department anymore? I use to call them for parts.

Which handle more popular for the Stradic?
I like the bigger T knobs myself. I hate the new flatter knobs shimano has on their higher end 1000 and 2500 size reels. I usually switch them out to the older thicker knobs or T knobs

The latest sale thread
Tried to place an order. Said the trolling motor was no longer available.

Sufix Tritanium Plus?
I used the original suffix tritanium many years ago. It was decent line. I dont recall having any issues with the line.

What’s your favorite squarebill rod?
I have been using the same rods for years- black 7' med hvy cumara reaction series. I use them for squarebills, deeper cranks and lipless cranks. They seem to do a decent job, so I dont see a reason to change.

Tatula or Stradic Ci4?
I have both Stradic CI4+ and the tatula Lt. You cant go wrong with either. If you like black, go with the tatula. If you want it more flashy then get the stradic CI4+. The stradic FL is another good choice. It's more solid feeling than the CI4+ or tatula LT. I'm sure the Ballistic LT is also another nice reel, but I dont have that one.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I guess you were at Walmart. I bought similar jigs a week ago there. Pretty good deal at $2.50 each. Wish they had more colors to choose from.

Rostertails are underrated 100%
I usually use roostertails for trout. But they seem to catch bluegills and bass just as good as trout. Creek Chubs also love them too. I did stock up on some when Cabelas had a sale on them a few weeks ago.

What's more versatile: Lipless or Squarebill?
If you fish from shore, you're going to lose alot of lures. It's a given. Sooner or later any lure will snag. If I bank fish, I usually use cheaper lures. So that when I lose them, it doesn't hurt as much. Academy sports has their H2O line that is fairly cheap and work well. Their selection is pretty good. At $4 to $4.5, losing one isn't too painful.

Storing Powerbait plastics with other (plastisol) plastics?
I've never had any issues. I have several plano boxes with loose plastics and I haven't seen any issues. I keep similar colors together to keep them from bleeding colors.

Shad rap and light weight crankbait setup
I dont consider the #7 and #9 as lightweight crankbaits. To me they cast fine on lighter baitcast gear, especially the #9. While I dont use the #9 much, I do throw the #7 often. I use 8lbs mono like big game or p-line. Mono will cast much better than fluocarbon. On a spinning rod, I would use trilene XL. I use a 7' med cumara reaction series and it seems to do very well with these smaller crankbaits. Try a 7' rod or longer and it'll help you with some distance.

Shimano saros fa maintenance
That's unusual to have two newish reels with anti-reverse issues. I've had many shimano spinning reels and don't think I've ever had an issue with the anti- reverse. I assume they are slipping and not catching. Are you fishing in the extreme cold?

Baitcaster under $300? (new or used)
With a budget of $300, you could get several cheaper reels. Two curado K Almost three tatulas at low online prices. Or whatever else floats your boat.

Redbone Rods
I have four of the hurricane calico jack rods. Excellent rods for the price. I use mine for saltwater and catfishing, but I'm sure they would work great for certain bass applications as well. They are fairly light and sensitive.

Calcutta 200GTB - stay old school or update?
If it was a gift and it means something to you, why would you get rid of it? You might as well keep it as a spare or shelf queen if its still in good condition. Once you get rid of it, you'll never get it back. You can always buy extra reels.
-
Which Curado K gear ratio
I wouldn't under spool the reel with line. You'll just lose casting performance. If you are going to do more bottom contact, go with the 7.4 If you do primarily spinnerbait and chatterbaits, go with the 6.2. That my opinion anyway.

Rod for Steez
True. The steez sv is so light it may not balance well on the FMJ. The FMJ balances better with a heavier reel.
