  1. I always used an exposed hook when using wax worms for gills.
  2. Nice blue cat is right! What did you catch it on?
  3. Been there done that. Twice. 1st time was a CVS in Florida and the 2nd time was in a restaurant close to home. I hate thieves worse than just about anything. Sorry that you had this happen to you Hoosier.
  4. TWC,which is all I can get here in the country, just announced that they are going 100% digital which means I now have to get four boxes to able to use my TV's. Add another $16.00 to the already too high bill. We have very basic cable plus Internet and phone for what will soon be upwards of $185.00 a month. For that I don't get fox 1,nbcsn,and others. I bought a Roku last year and it has some good stuff on it but you need Hulu and Netflix to watch network shows. What I'm learning is that TV is vastly over rated, especially when you consider what else you could buy with that money. Or maybe even save it!
  5. When I see numbers like this I just have to wonder how things could get this bad. Obviously it didn't happen over night, but sometimes it seems as though the system is broken to the point where it makes the Wild West look like a church social. The infestation of drugs and the greed of many has ruined many of our great cities, and like someone already said why would anyone go into law enforcement nowadays? Law enforcement,EMT's,these people have my utmost respect for doing a job I could never do,especially in a city where murder has become commonplace.
  6. As someone who is planning to move to SW Florida next year I am very, very interested in this subject and this thread is proving to be very educational for me. Speaking as an "outsider" I have long wondered about the long term impact of all the development and construction in Florida, and this thread goes a long way in detailing the impact.
  7. We had an amazing 71 here in Ohio today. Unreal!! The geese that were walking on the ice on the pond behind my house this morning have been swimming in it since noon!
  8. The show "48 Hours" features Memphis quite a bit for not very good reasons. I always wonder though if things are as bad as they are sometimes portrayed. Living in a tiny town like I do is a pretty sheltered life.
  9. There's always gotta be one of "them"in every crowd it seems;) Welcome aboard!!
  10. Looking good!
  11. Plumbing issues are the worse kind for me. You'd think a guy my age would have one or two of everything laying around someplace and not have to run back to the store, but like the OP I always seem to be making the extra trip or two.
  12. That one wouldn't last a day on my road!
  13. I like to use poppers in the Spring and Fall during the early morning and evening, and in the heat of Summer an hour before and after dusk.
  14. The wife just gave me a speech about "why do men just want to vegetate when they get sick?If women did that nothing would ever get done". Ouch!
  15. Without getting sick. Almost. Now under siege by an all out assault of something or other. Missed work Monday and Tuesday and not looking good for the rest of the week. I have managed to watch a few YouTube fishing and jig tying videos though. If I feel up to it tomorrow I'm going to read some of the great articles on BR. Stay well everyone.
  16. Sounds like I'm getting a new Pflueger!
  17. Not a fan of tattoos but a quick Google image search reveals some incredible artistry out there. The way some 3-D tattoos look is nothing short of amazing.
  18. What's your most successful lure for peacock's?
  19. I've reorganized several boxes of lures, even bought more boxes to better be able to separate lures even better. Instead of a box of frogs for example,I've got several boxes for different makes of frogs. Same with plastics. I'll change all my lines next and I'll be ready to go. Now,if old man winter will give up we can get this show on the road!
  20. When I'm outside doing stuff I tend to have a radio close by. I think it's more habit than anything else. When I'm fishing it's different though as I love the quiet. Being around people all the time with phones, cars, traffic, and such gets to me and I start to feel stressed out. A few hours of quiet time with a rod in my hands is like therapy for me so I leave the music at the house when I'm fishing.
  21. Really nice job!
  22. The talking heads on ESPN are saying puppymonkeybaby was the best. I thought it was plain stupid and I couldn't remember what the actual product was. Being a car guy that works for a major mfg I really liked the new NSX and Honda truck. Didn't care much for the halftime show either, but it's obvious they don't cater to older guys like me when they pick the "talent" each year.
  23. Good replies and thanks. I hadn't even thought of Amazon. That's $16 cheaper than BPS if I can get it for free shipping.
  24. I've used 17lb mono for frog fishing for a long time and don't have too much trouble with missing or losing fish. Not sure anyone hooks and catches 100% of the time. While braid has its place I've just never been a fan so I've learned to stick with what I know, which is mono. But hey,I go against the grain by using single, super sharp hooks in my frogs and I believe that alone helps me catch my share. What do I know?
