  1. Nice looking bait, just hope most bass are King fans. Harshman
  2. Great Catch I couldn't think of a better way to start a new year. Harshman
  3. A decent place to value you're lure currently is compare to one that is about to end on ebay. If not there are several great vintage lure catalogs out there to help you judge and value your collection pieces. My wife and I are in to collecting, she collects lures while I collect old reels. Good Luck Harshman
  4. What's that monkey, you're hungry? Harshman
  5. Here's the finished product. Not to fancy just coated in black powder paint. I'm still thinking about adding eyes on a couple to see which gets me a better bite Harshman
  6. I'll try to get a few pics up this evening. Harshman
  7. I have had no issues with painting yet. I use a powder paint and before I bake it to cure I simply chip the extra paint off of the wire. The hitch hiker i used did fit perfectly into the mold with the exception of addint the fiber guard to the center while pouring it made this a very easy process. Harshman
  8. Here are a few pics Harshman
  9. Gman I just got done trying the hitch hiker as a screw in and it worked perfectly. The only set back was I found out that you have to fill the center hole of the hitch hiker with something. I used a part of a figer guard and the pulled it out when I was done. I'll have pictures up shortly. My local BPS had the hitch hikers in stock and I used the smaller of the two they had available but I'm sure the larger one would work just as good. Harshman
  10. Not really a FLW follower just got a great deal on the jacket. We have matching rain suits and those are the jackets for them. One of the best all around fishing jackets I've ever worn. Water proof and wind proof. For the money it is far superior to the BPS 100mph suits at about half cost of 1pc of the BPS wear. Harshman
  11. Gman, I was thinking of trying this myself as well. Stamina sells a piece called a hitch hiker that is a screw shaped wire that attaches to the eyelet of you're hook. I was thinking of trying to use this piece in place os a base pin or weed guard. Not sure if it would work without some modifying though. Here's the link to the item I am refering to. http://www.staminainc.com/soft_plastics/hitchhikers.html let me know what you think of this idea Harshman

In most cases hobby pouring puts off a very small amount of lead dust but you should at least have an exhaust fan in your work area that can carry away the amount of smoke that a single match can put off. make sure if you are in a enclosed enviroment that you have a sorce of fresh air coming in. I would also recommend using some type of cleaning wipes to clean up the area you are pouring in after you are done. As with most saftey precautions wear gloves and saftey glasses/goggles and long sleeves are preferable to short in case of splatter. It's kinda like bacon grease if you spill it it is going to go everywhere so use extra caution. These cautions should also apply if you are using paints , more ventalation the better espically around areas with kids. I know this adds alot of extras to your pouring but it is well worth it. Safety should never be compromised for easier work. You might also want to consider buying the heads already poured, it would he a little more cost effective up front and alot safer around your kids. I would be happy to assist if I could in any way, with places to buy or I'll even pour some for you. Good Luck Harshman
  16. Another thing to keep in mind is the amount of line the reel pulls in avery time you crank the handle. Just cause it says 6.3:1 doesn't make it absolutely specific to a certain speed(correct me if I'm wrong) For instance an ABU 5500 C4 with the 6.3 will pull in over 30" of line with one revolution where as most low profile bc's will pull in 25",26", 27" or even 28" and the so called burners 7.1:1 will still mostly pull in 28", unless you want to spend over $250 per reel to get 30" of recovery. Makes me wonder what an ABU 5500 C4 7.1:1 would pull in. Harshman
  17. Where did some of you guys get parts to make a Rotisserie to dry your baits? I've heard of using a motor off of a BBQ Grill but I am having trouble finding one. Any help wouold be greatly appreciated. Thanks Harshman
  18. Great fish!!! I can't wait to get out and try to get a couple of my own this weekend. Harshman
  19. Poision Tail Mold Berkley Scent Infused Jig Skirts Neccessary hooks and weed guards to make jigs BPS Gift Cards BPS Tackle Back Pack (I now have enough tackle to carry that I need a back pack!!!!) Smackdown vs. Raw 07 PS2 video game Blood Trail Tracking Light ( Even though I've never had to track a deer over 20 yds.) Assortment of pocket knives Harshman
  20. I mostly use wedding veil as well. I put mine in a small needle point hoop to help keep the veil straight when I shoot the paint through it. It also helps hold the bait down without getting paint all over your hands. Harshman

I also use a paint brush. make sure to go over the bait once the first coat is applied to remove excess and then place on some type of roterserie to allow for even curing. If you simply hang it will make the epoxy collect to the lowest point on the bait. Hope this helps Harshman
  22. I have the H2oC as well and use the navionics usa hot spots chip along with it instead of pc software. It does everything I need it to do without adding a bunch of head ache on my pc. I guess if you are also using the unit for travel as well as fishing/hunting it would make sense to use the PC software. Harshman
  23. I have the H2oC and I love it. For the price it can't be beat. I highly recommend a navionics hot spots chip to accompany it to further enhance your fishing needs. The screen is very easy to read and it is a very user friendly unit. If you have no knowledge of how to use a gps this one is ready to go right out of the box but has advanced modes for those who can understand how to use the advanced features. Harshman PM me if you have any other questions about the H2oC
  24. Personally I like to use Devcon 2- ton epoxy. It is a typical 2 part epoxy and you can pick it up from most retail stores like Wal-mart and it isn't that expensive. Best part is it has a 30 min work time giving you time to do several baits with one mix. I apply mine with a brush since it is a self leveling epoxy if you have the mix right, apply thick to get an even coat then when you've covered the bait you can use the brush to run the bait from one end to the other to remove excess epoxy.Make sure you mix as per the direcitions on the package , if not mixed correctly the epoxy will not cure sometimes even for days or it will nor cover the bait in a level coat. One of the most important steps for a finished product is once the epoxy is applied that you have some way of hanging the bait for drying that will allow the bait to rotate (like a slow spinning drying rack) so the as the epoxy cures it won't just start to run to one end of the bait and "pool up" making the top of the bait look like it has a thin cover and the bottom a blob, or if you don't mind hold the bait for 30 min or so slowly spoinning it ;)Hope this helped. harshman
